O'keefe's Waterfront Inn

My recent stay at the hotel was great. The property is beautiful. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The room are comfortable and clean and mine even had a small over-water patio with amazing views. I definitely recommend for anyone visiting Yap, even if you’ve been to Yap before.

We were really impressed with this little boutique hotel right on the waterfront. There are only 5 rooms so really an intimate feel to it. On arrival we were met by the manager and driver at the airport following our middle-of-the-night flight from Guam – all very efficient. The staff were simply excellent – super friendly and helpful in all respects. On our first day, there was a problem with our rental car, so the manager, Ben, kindly offered to drive us around in the hotel van for a few hours instead, to see the many war relics and the stone money banks, which we thought was incredibly generous and really shows their commitment to customer service. Our room was a little on the small side but very tastefully furnished and decorated to a nautical theme. We had a nice balcony right out over the water to admire the beautiful views. We had great AC, good internet TV, and a mini-fridge among the many mod cons. The location is excellent, right next to the Manta Ray Lodge where most of the diving/snorkeling trips leave from. On the other side of the hotel is the main commercial complex with supermarket and other shops. There are 3 or 4 restaurants within easy walking distance, including the Mnuw boat restaurant right next door. Don’t miss out on exploring the historical stone paths around the area! Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this place to other travelers. Great base on Yap.

My wife and I came for Yap Day 2025, and stayed here for a week. It was probably the most pleasant hotel stay I've had. The hotel has a secluded feel, but is centrally located in downtown Colonia within walking distance of the Living History Museum and all of the restaurants in Colonia. The rooms are small, but charming with everything you need: a very comfortable bed, compact refrigerator, coffee maker, wifi, a balcony that overhangs the lagoon, and an amazingly quiet air conditioner. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and arranged taxi's and a rental car for us, as well as providing complimentary airport transportation in the middle of the night.

We had a lovely stay at the Waterfront Inn. The front desk staff were absolutely wonderful and a highlight of our visit - so friendly and helpful, our questions and requests were never a problem. The location is perfect, only a few minutes walk to the convenience stores, restaurants, and Manta Ray Resort for diving/snorkelling. Rooms were cosy, comfortable, and full of character. Wifi very fast and reliable. Wish we'd used the bar more and enjoyed drinks on the waterfront patio but we hope to be back one day!

Excellent small hotel, real old world decor , staff exceptional and Josh took us on a short tour to some sights. If you hire a car make sure it is a high one, as roads not all sealed to WW2 sites. Not much good food options on Yap but try The Hub opposite, a new one, or Oceania across the bridge. Ben drove the free shuttle at the ungodly flight hours United does. All.staff willing to help and Susan at visitor centre can arrange visit to ancient canoe making in a village north. Supermarket next door but Yap less developed than Guam and Palau so bring all your medicines. Attractive jungle plants abound. Overall a scenic island.

I was explaining to someone how I felt about the Waterfront Inn and I can only explain it as I fell in love with the pictures and the idea of it, and when I arrived I kept falling in love with it all over again daily. It is as special and magical as you can imagine. Everything was great, clean and beautiful. From the lovely faces that welcome you, with the complimentary airport pickup, to the Leis they'll put for you when you are leaving. The hospitality is second to none and worth every penny. There's also a cute library with amazing books. It's living in history with a real titanic unsinkable ship vibes.
