We had a fantastic time at the museum. We went to the special exhibit they had for Ansel Adams, and I didn't expect the exhibit to be as large as it was. They have a variety of his photos spanning the length of his life as well as photos other took of Ansel. We also stopped by the permanent Chihuly exhibit, and they have several pieces I've never seen before. It's a fantastic selection, and we hope to come back again

Google
Lots of available parking, but you have to pay. It was a little confusing for us to figure out where the entrance was. We mistakenly went in first to the store. Then the theater. We finally figured out the correct entrance. The exhibits were wonderful. There are three stories, an exhibit on each. Nice layout, well lit.

Google
The Chihuly exhibit is amazing! The rest of the museum covers a lot of ground, stylistically, from old masters to modern art. Totally worth a visit!

This review pertains to the OKC Museum of Art Movie Theater and its screening of the 2025 Manhattan Short Film Festival. The museum itself is a beautiful facility, and I’m glad we have it in OKC. Unfortunately, the movie theater leaves much to be desired. While it does feature stadium seating, the seats are small, uncomfortably low to the ground, and not at all supportive. The screen is undersized, the sound system is weaker than what I have at home, and the projection quality looked more like a washed-out 1980s big-screen TV than a modern cinema. On top of that, there are no concessions—no popcorn, candy, or soft drinks—to make the experience more enjoyable. As for the 2025 Manhattan Short Film Festival itself, it was deeply disappointing. Each short film seemed worse than the last, with one even crossing into shock value by depicting disturbing cruelty between insects. If this is truly considered the “best” of upcoming filmmakers, it only highlights how far standards have fallen.

Google
Lovely museum with an extensive Chihuly exhibit that is truly breathtaking. The Ansel Adams exhibit and their modern abstract wing were both fantastic as well. Really a must see when visiting OKC!

Sabrina K.

Google
So beautiful! Staff is very friendly and spaces are clean and well kept. The kids/family area is perfect for the littles too!

Google
Wow! We had an amazing visit! Took us about 2.5 hours to go through the exhibits, reading almost every plaque. We love Chihuly, and we saved that for last! I really loved how all the exhibits were grouped and had a written rationale for organization. Even with multiple events downtown, we were able to find a spot nearby (and it was a free spot on Sundays).

Google
Took a quick trip from Tulsa to OKC to see the Jeff Buckley documentary at the OKC Museum of Art. Arrived early and walked around the museum, and we were really impressed. We were thrilled to see the Ansel Adams exhibit and the Chihuly pieces. Every employee of the museum that we encountered was very helpful. Josh, in particular, took time to give us the back story on several pieces. He really added to our experience.

Yelp
Ardin and Xavier at the gift shop bar were so personable and such a joy to chat with. And you must get the margarita they make when having a relaxing afternoon after visiting the exhibits...so refreshing and unique we had to reopen the tab for another round!!

Yelp
It was a wonderful day to visit the Museum of Art. Very educational and inspiring. Dale Chihuly: The Oklahoma Collection is so beautiful.
google avatar

Brett G.

Yelp
This was at the top of my list when stopping through OKC. The Dale Chihuly exhibit is one of the largest permanent exhibits and it does not disappoint. His glass blowing techniques creates a world of the likes of Alice in Wonderland or Wonka. I'd be careful with young children because the pieces are accessible, but it is an experience that will stick with you. Highly recommend!

Yelp
First, know that OKCMOA is a member of NARM which basically means if you have a Philbrook membership, you can get in free. Or, conversely if you have a OKCMOA membership you get into Phillbrook! :) (There are lots of other museums in this reciprocal program so check it out.) Second, the current Edith Head exhibit is amazing. There is room after room of her many and varied costumes from the heyday of motion pictures. A couple of vintage videos are in the exhibit, too. I learned a lot about the designer. The gift shop has some amazing items to correspond with the exhibit as well as some delicious themed cocktails. Go check it all out. (Oh, yeah....there's also the Chihuly's!)

Yelp
As an avid Chihuly admirer, the permanent installation at the museum didn't disappoint. If you know his work, you'll see his signature row boat piece. This is just a very small sample of what you'll see on your visit.

Yelp
We were on a trip to Oklahoma City, and we're interested in doing something the day after Thanksgiving. We are always fans of art museums, and when I heard that this museum had a permanent Chihuly exhibit, I was in! The exhibit is fabulous, and I saw several pieces that I had never seen in person before. We had been in France during the summer, and had visited the Rodin museum, so seeing the pieces that this museum had of his work was exciting. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area!

Yelp
OKC has a surprisingly great art museum, especially if you want to see Chihuly art. The art museum consists of three floors. When we visited, the top floor was a traveling exhibit of Edith Head dresses, which was such a cool art exhibit to see. The second floor has a permanent collection of assorted paintings on one half, and the other half had a traveling exhibit. We visited about a month before the Picasso traveling exhibit was coming, so that half of the floor was closed. It was disappointing that a whole half of one of the floors was closed. The first floor is definitely the star of the museum, Chihuly glass art. The collection is quite extensive, you wouldn't expect OKC to have such a big collection. We were able to park on a Sunday on the road behind the museum for free. The museum admission was $20 for adults, which is a little high in my opinion but pretty standard price for OKC museums. They also had a really cute gift shop, but they didn't have much OKC art museum branded merchandise.

Yelp
I love the Museum of Art. I went to see the Edith Head display. It was awesome and very well done. I also love the Chihuly glass display. I've been several times and I drop by every time to see it. I try to go on the weekends so there is free parking right by the museum.

Yelp
This is a great little treasure in Oklahoma City. I enjoyed it and plan to get a season pass.

Yelp
Nice museum in downtown Oklahoma City. Ample Chihuly and contemporary pieces. Would return.

Yelp
It's a great day to go to the art museum! My daughter and I decided to add alittle culture in our day! I've been to the museum in OKC before but first time with daughter. It's interesting how we can see the exact same thing but have a different experience, perspective. I love the communication that crosses all barriers and true art does just that. However, my only co cern with regular admission you don't get to enjoy the new exhibit. What??!? Why?!?? The first two floors of the museum seem to have permanent exhibits so if you e been there many times you should have the opportunity (w/o paying extra) to see new exhibits. So that was a bummer and the reason we did a short walk through on the first and second floor... same ole art we've seen before!
google avatar

Carolyn P.

Yelp
Totally enjoyed today's visit to the museum. Did, pay parking lot, due to parking for Wicked show. Lots of people in line for tickets but since I did our free tickets on line, we got to immediately check in at a separate place. Love the idea for special free Sundays! Even if you pay it would be worth it. We loved the first floor that's full of just gorgeous glass art. I was in aw of the imagination seen here. Took a few pictures.....OK alot of pictures. My favorite was the boat full of glass items. Some families had children and had them on strict attention. They have back tape on floor showing where to stay behind. I would be nervous taking small children. Second and third floors by stairs or elevator has paintings and pictures. Very unique and interesting ! Also gift shop with a bar. A seperate kids art area Museum supper clean with lots of places to sit. Everyone friendly with several workers throughout.

Yelp
Visisted this museum in September to see the Edith Head exhibit. Very well displayed and informative. I also visited the 2nd floor exhibits-various paintings and the Picasso exhibit. Since i had time, i was able to see the Chihuly exhibit on the 1st floor. Very extensive collection and well displayed. (don't miss it if you are there since it's included in admission)
google avatar

Yelp
This museum was a treat! Based on the reviews it was supposed to be fun but i was a little nervous when a lot of the photos were only of the entryway. Everything looked amazing, it was very spacious, and they had many different pieces & styles displayed here. We stayed for about an hour, but it was great!
google avatar

Carola S.

Yelp
I loved the museum's gift shop and the friendly workers in the front desk. I was able to work and see some Oklahoma work. They closed down a floor, so I was only able to see one floor.
google avatar

Yelp
To my surprise, Oklahoma City is home to one of the largest collections of Chihuly glass. And most people are going to be drawn here for the Chihuly pieces. But this is also a very well rounded, yet manageable museum. Chihuly speaks for himself. His pieces are stunning. Gorgeous. Otherworldly. Ethereal. The museum has done a great job of presenting them in such a way that the pieces are augmented by light, shadow, and reflection. Beautiful to behold and also makes for a great photo op. They also have a cool permanent/modern art selection, diverse and intriguing. Artists from all walks of life are represented. I was glad to see black, first Americans, and others represented. Another special exhibit they had, that I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I did, centered on Walter Ioos's work. Ioos (pronounced YOS like dose) has shot some of the most iconic sports images in the late 20th century, as well as the 21st century. I was moved by Hank Aaron's photo, accompanied by a quote saying that racism carved away a piece of his heart. Muhammad Ali as an older man, pushing his bicycle along on his secluded farm. All well organized and organized into appropriate sections: images of loss, pride, jubilance, determination, and more. This museum also has a great little restaurant/bar and one of the better gift shops I've seen (including NYC). The staff is helpful. The gift shop staff were so stylish and cool! Cheap parking close by. My ticket was just over 12 bucks. Stellar.

Yelp
The OKCMOA has been such a place of piece for me this year. I joined as a member about four months ago and have to say it has been a great decision. From the Chihuly glass exhibit or Preston Singleton's Raven exhibit, you won't be disappointed! They continually change out the exhibits. So there is always something new to experience when you visit. I just love it here!
google avatar

Brianna I.

Yelp
Beautiful museum! I've been wanting to go for a while and ended up going for their Chihuly "Glass in Bloom" exhibit, where they bring in fresh flowers modeled after the blown glass. To say that the visit exceeded my expectations is the understatement of the century. It was SO much bigger than I expected with multiple floors of artwork to check out, and the special event was awesome. I believe it was $40 a ticket which is definitely on the pricier end for me, but it was worth every penny for a couple really worthwhile hours of exploring and observing. The staff was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and willing to share their passion with anyone. At the end of our experience, I definitely spent way too much time in the gift shop, which is a great place to grab cute souvenirs for yourself or friends. We got a phases of the moon puzzle and its held its value!

Yelp
The Edith Head Exhibit was incredible. The Chihuly installation is mind blowing. So glad I went. Definitely life-enriching.

Yelp
We had a pleasant time at this museum. They have a great location and the building is beautiful. Prices were decent, I remember them being under $20 a piece. They have a huge selection of art, even multiple floors. The only dislike I left with was that the staff made me feel uncomfortable. They followed us a lot and stared us down.. just doing their job but it was creepy and it was like 3 different staff. I can't forget about the gift shop, it is AWESOME and they even have a little cafe in there.
google avatar

Christine A.

Yelp
Even though we have been here for 3 years, this was our first time to the MOA and enjoyed our visit! The Chihuly exhibit is truly spectacular. OKC MOA is doing a great job with social distancing efforts. Scheduling visits in time intervals to reduce crowds, readily available sanitizers and limited # of people on elevators. Kids are free! So it's a great place for the family on a rainy or cold day! The cafe is currently closed but would love to visit again and grab some drinks at the cafe!
google avatar

Yelp
We really enjoyed a Sunday afternoon at the museum. The Chihuly Then and Now: The Collection at Twenty exhibit is lovely! It has pieces from multiple stages in Chihuly's career over the past fifty years. It's interesting to see the progression of his work over the years. The Perfect Shot photography exhibit was also very cool. It's here through the 4th of September and is worth a visit if you haven't seen it before it's gone. The only reason for four stars was because there seemed to be quite a few areas that were under construction or remodeling. We still had a wonderful time at the museum!
google avatar

Venita W.

Yelp
Finally got to eat here, I've heard it's a great place to eat. My sister said the menu has changed since covid. They have sandwiches & chips or half sandwich with salad or soup. We all enjoyed what we ordered. We will definitely be back. I recommend going to the museum gift shop before or after eating.
google avatar

Randy S.

Yelp
The OKCMOA brings spectacular exhibits for the community. The floor plan includes three stories to explore, and a rooftop patio for those fancy events, and summertime evenings; the view allows for all directions but views to the north are restricted. They have events at the Building often and they usually have full service bars scattered around the property during the events They have a great restaurant I've only eaten at for a New Year's Party where they served a phenomenal five course meal. They have full and half bottles of wine available as well as wines by the glass. They have a movie theater where they play specific feature films. They have a gift shop with some awesome gifts. Back in 2016 they brought a Matisse, Picasso, and a few other from the Centre Pompidou, Paris

Yelp
Found this treasure of a place just outside of my hotel. If you admire art, this is a great place to visit. It was so calm and serene inside. Like a walking daydream. The staff was very friendly. Would have loved more interaction on some of the video displays. But, I'm sure they walk around to ensure everything is properly secure and safe. This is a great place to bring any art enthusiast.
google avatar

Heather Marie V.

Yelp
This museum was lovely. I visited in 2019 when they were updating exhibits and one full floor was off limits, so the admission price was lowered. But the exhibits that were on display were wonderful; I particularly loved the extensive Chihuly exhibit and all the contemporary art. The museum's gift shop was one of the best that I'd seen, and I had a hard time only buying a couple of items instead of the whole shop. The woman working the shop had colorful stories about some of the local artists and clearly loved sharing her love of art with the patrons. I'd absolutely come back next time I'm in town. It's a must for any visitor!

Yelp
I visited here on my last day in OKC. The museum doesn't open until 12:00 pm on Sundays so heads up on this if you plan to visit on this day. Also, they're closed on Mondays. Plan accordingly! I felt the museum was okay. Staff were friendly at the front desk. They also offer military discounts to veterans for price of admission. When the lady was checking me in and producing my ticket she didn't take the time to explain where things were at in the museum. She seemed to be only interested in ringing up my sale and shuffling me through. I overheard this same lady providing details to another museum patron when I walked by the front desk area later on. Management could provide friendly reminders to staff to be more professional with proper greetings and provide an overview (to all patrons) of where things are located. Don't assume that some know where everything is at. I was never asked if it was my first visit to the museum. My admission experience felt more like I was ordering a drink at a bar. Museum displays are nice. I'm not a fan of modern contemporary art. They had a featured section of this on display. I enjoyed looking at all of the artwork. Especially the historical paintings. My favorite section was upstairs on the 3rd floor where they have various professional photos of American professional athletes in action or key moments in games or championships. I felt that the photographers did a brilliant job of "freezing life" at just the right moment during these games. It also felt like taking a walk down "memory lane" when viewing various athletes, remembering these games in the past and where I was at or how old I was. Sports are a huge part of American culture so if you're a fan, I recommend going to the museum for this portion of it. You will most likely enjoy it! If you're a Michael Jordan fan, you will like it even more! The Bulls had a phenomenal team in the 90s. If I had to do it all over again, I would've probably skipped this place and spent more time at The First Americans Museum. However, glad I visited this museum. I would return when in OKC again but won't go out of my way. I also forgot to mention, visit the gift shop too! I got a good laugh out of seeing the various "GI Joe" figurines, on display, in various yoga poses. If you're a yoga enthusiast you're going to want to see this!! Enjoy!!

Cinai V.

Yelp
This place was really fun! It had a lot of really cool abstract art and historical art. They also had an awesome gift shop and I think a bar and restaurant too, we spent a lot of time in there just looking around. I will say I feel like security measures must be high there because we felt watched the whole entire time, it was almost kinda creepy but also funny

corrine g.

Yelp
Rude behavior towards us from the ticketing desk made us feel inconsequential and unwelcomed, it ruined our visit. My husband and I arrived at 11:45 7/26/23 and were promptly ignored by the 2 women seated in front of us at reception. Eventually I was acknowledged and asked to fill in the back of a ticket/pass I had from the Pioneer Library system. I was then ignored again by both women. After moments of standing in front of them without any acknowledgement I started to walk into the gallery and was hailed back to the desk "I needed a ticket". Then the employees started to squabble with the each other about who was supposed to get us ticketed. Demoralizing us and being rude amused them, and as we walked into the gallery they laughed amongst themselves.

Kathy M.

Yelp
We came to OKC specifically to see the Chihuly collection and it did not disappoint. Brilliant colors, fascinating shapes, inspired artistry. Mr. Chihuly is truly a master. Special thanks to Mr. Austin Allen (Alan?) Artis for sharing his knowledge and observations. He made a wonderful experience even better. If you see this, Mr. Austin, your dinner suggestion was spot on!
google avatar

Mary Margaret M.

Yelp
An OKC gem. I have been here several times and have enjoyed the space, exhibits, and staff. The team does a great job at creating inviting, stimulating, and intriguing environment for Oklahomans and visitors alike. The Chihuly exhibit is second to none. I LOVED it so much! They have rotating exhibits, check the website for the most up-to-date info. I got the pleasure to view the Matisse exhibit in 2016--it was exquisite. Recently Yelp elites got the chance to watch the Oscar nominated film shorts at the OKCMOA. What a delightful experience! My only critique would be there is room for improvement in comfort-abilty (is that a word?) of the seats in the auditorium. They did just fine for a 2 hour showing, but weren't the most comfortable movie seats I have sat in. If you are in the area and looking for a treat, look no further than OKCMOA. I have heard lots of great things about their evening rooftop event, and their restaurant, but haven't got the chance to experience either yet. More to come, for sure as soon as I do!
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Really cool displays of Dale Chuhily's art. They had a kids bag that made my kiddos experience so much more interactive - a nice touch. Staff were friendly. Lots of street parking available, I'd recommend checking it out.
google avatar

Genevieve F.

Yelp
I think this is an awesome art museum. They have shows that rival any other large city. They have a permanent (or maybe semi-permanent) shoeing if Chuhuly glass). It is amazing to walk among the glass, sometimes under it like a giant glass chandelier. They've had a variety of shows; Matisse and his contemporaries for example. Right now is a Victorian show. They also have films that are European or artsy of documentaries. They have a variety of activities, such as a murder mystery, a Norwegian evening, things for children, etc. I love the gift store and the restaurant.
google avatar

Paige C.

Yelp
It is always a pleasure to visit this museum. After having not been there in a year, it was refreshing to see the permanent exhibits completely rotated, you always see something new in addition to favorites like the kehinde Wiley piece. The moving vision exhibit was a throwback in time. Im excited for their monthly late night openings to resume after it is safe!
google avatar

Brett T.

Yelp
The OKC Museum of Art is such a great museum! I've seen so many excellent and world-class exhibits here. From Matisse to Fabregé I've loved everything! I usually go to the "Art after 5" which is a neat opportunity to experience the museum and the rooftop patio (with a bar that serves wine and beer). The rooftop is a great way to view all of downtown OKC and socialize with friends and family. All of this for $5! Check out some of my pics to see how magnificent this museum is!

Yelp
December 1st -2018 We had a couple of hours to kill while we were downtown. My granddaughter loves to paint so we decided to pop in for a little bit. Radical Victorians had some great displays by wonderful artist's during the exhibit and the permanent collections are consistently changing ,while also affordable, as a destination for art lovers. While they were still remodeling the lower level we still had a wonderful time. You can definitely finish this place in less than an hour, which is what we did. The Chihuly glass was my favorite. Would definitely visit again next time I'm in town. Travel Tip Make sure to show your Bank of America card - Free Admission.
google avatar

Kristina S.

Yelp
Love visiting this art museum and even more with the pop art. Although it isn't large nor is there much to see, there is tons of space to enjoy and just hang out. The cafe is closed at the moment and they used to have rooftop bar events but due to COVID, they haven't resumed 100% normal operations. The Chiluly exhibit is still there and beautiful as ever.
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
When visiting a museum, it's important to find out its strengths. Is it an encyclopedic collection? Does it specialize in specific genres? Here, the main reason to visit is the work of glass artisan, Dale Chihuly. Unless you're visiting Tacoma, Washington, this museum may be the only one to have his more robust large-scale creative works. I don't know that I've ever seen more color in any one gallery than the one featuring his 'Float Boat' and 'Ikebana Boat' installations: true menageries of glass on long curved boats. The rest of the museum mainly features American and European art of the 19th and 20th centuries. It's a comparatively small collection here but I've been a repeat visitor to this museum over the years because there are usually very good temporary exhibitions.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
Make this the TOP of your list if you are visiting OKC. Home to a large Chihuly Glass exhibit (one of which you can instantly see out front), what the OKCMOA lacks in size it makes up for in quality content. The museum is modern, thoughtfully laid out, and constantly rotates their selection so you can always see something new. Without spoiling anything, I would say their Chihuly set pieces are worth the price of admission alone. Plenty of benches here in case your feet get weary and the staff are very friendly. Would recommend!
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Art museums are always worth the visit. We enjoyed the Chihuly exhibit and also walked around the permanent exhibits. I think they had some things shut down/in transition during our visit. Make sure to check their website before your visit just in case.
google avatar

Kristen W.

Yelp
I enjoyed my visit to the museum. It's a good size. Not too big so that you can't see all the art or are exhausted by the time you do see all the art. There is diversity of genre although I feel this could be improved to different types of art forms as most of the art is limited to paintings. However, they do House the Dale Chihuly glass exhibit which is quite extensive and very enjoyable. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the seasonal exhibit as this unfortunately was closed for transition to a new exhibit when we were visiting. I will be back to enjoy this museum again.

Serena M.

Yelp
This review is specifically for the cat video festival. It used to be outdoor and free but is now in a small auditorium that is dark. This is an issue when you have a young child that is afraid of the dark. There is a fee associated with this event now but at least that goes to a charity. Also it didn't start on time and there are commercials that is new. I feel like this is a downgrade from previous outdoor festival.
google avatar

Iris S.

Yelp
I was very excited to visit this museum when visiting this past weekend. However, for the price (12$) I was very let down at how small this museum was. The Chihuly blown glass was marvelous- literally I was blown away- no pun intended. Absolutely beautiful! There was also a quilt exhibition that was cool, but other than that I was sad at how much this museum lacked. We saw a Georgia O'keefe I was impressed with however. Maybe my let down is due to growing up around the NYC museums, and Philadelphia Art Museum. However, I think it's worth the visit if you can go on Thursdays after 5 when it's only $5.
google avatar

Divot K.

Yelp
What a delightful museum, housing a beautiful Chihuly exhibit. Stunning 3 story piece in the entry, gorgeous chandelier and my gosh spectacular array of pieces on display.
google avatar

Susan L.

Yelp
We visited this museum in 4/07. The interior is very attractive and they have the world's largest collection of Dale Chihuly's glass art. That was a real treat, plus his largest piece in existence is located in the atrium (it's a *55-foot-tall* tower of glass). We ate lunch at the museum's restaurant, which is also very attractive. The food was delicious (we had vegetable & brie sandwiches), our server was *terrific* and the prices were moderate.
google avatar

Steffanie R.

Yelp
It was a great exhibition of Dale Chihuly and Ansel Adams. This was our first visit we are Bank of America members, it's free the first weekend of the month. The first floor had sculptures from the last 2 years. Ansel Adams was on the 2nd floor, it was a smaller exhibition than I had anticipated to see. But I still enjoyed it as he really inspired me years ago into photography. I was thrilled with the beautiful Dale Chihuly exhibit, really blew me away. They also have a roof top, not open right now as its winter but we will be back. They also have a beautiful restaurant downstairs. We will come back for dinner and for the roof :)

Yelp
Feeling very fortunate to view VanGogh, Monet and Degas Collection! Enjoyed how well thought out each piece was located! The only instruction given upon entering was to stay behind the black taped line and no flash photography! There were many museum staff available to answer questions. There was plenty of time to view the exhibit but would have liked the intervals of entrance spread out a bit as not to feel like locking arms or waiting for a viewing spot. As each visitor has their own unique time at each painting, it left you feeling either a bit hurried or passing one to come back at a later time. The Van Gogh paintings were the ones that peeked the most interest as they took a little timing to get a viewing! All and all, I am thrilled that I went and would gladly pay the admission fee again!

Yelp
First time inside of an Art Museum, it was an amazing experience. The Admission price is reasonable, the staff are nice and friendly. And the gift shop is most definitely a must when you stop by.

Yelp
This was our first time to the Museum of art. I took my young grandson and went because we had free tickets. I really enjoyed the Dale Chihuly exhibit. I was impressed that they had some hands-on. Activities for my grandson that I had not expected. There was a place for him to mimic drawing one of the larger exhibits, there was a nook where he could draw and put his own art on exhibit or read some books about art. If you have younger kids, you can pick up one One of their goody bags to take through the museum with you. It has small toys and some art related things that keep your kids occupied so they aren't running around screaming! Then you just return it to the front desk when you're finished and be on your way!
