The okonomiyaki is great! We got there 10mins before it opens and there was already a queue of people. They take orders while people are waiting in line to reduce the wait time. When entering the restaurant they take your order. Be patient, it can take a few minutes. The wife and I ordered a Hiroshima coke and Hiroshima cider. I got the Mitchan special with soba. The wife got the special with soba. Both were topped with green onions. The okonomiyaki is not too heavy and the flavors go so well together. The seafood and soba noodles complement each other and allows you to enjoy all the components together. You can ask for a side plate and cut the okonomiyaki into smaller pieces. After the smaller chunks were sectioned off I put mayo on top and hot sauce on the side. Great way to add layers of additional flavor!

You know you have a great place to eat, when the locals are queueing around the corner a night out. The line moves quickly, so don't be worried about waiting too long. Great feed. Best Okinomiyaki. Large serves, made fresh right in front of you. Staff and service were excellent. Total Bill was ¥9400, for 5 people, which included beers.

Hiroshima is well known for its Okonomiyaki and for good reason!! We loved it!! Tried to go for lunch but had to wait an hour for a table so we decided to go for dinner instead. Took a number and only waited about 10 minutes. We knew what we wanted so we ordered as soon as we sat down and food came in about 10 minutes. It was tasty and hit all the right spots!!

Authentic Hiroshima Okonomiyaki with great taste. There were already big queues when we arrived just before opening at 5:25pm. However everyone was soon seated with a minimum of fuss. I ordered the special and was very pleased with the combination of nikku, ika and ebi. The soba noodles were delicious and I also loved the home made okonomiyaki sauce.

I am not an expert in KONOMIYAKI, they tasted excellent to me. The vegetable dishes were also good. Relaxed to have a meal here.

This restaurant is a hiroshimayaki specialty shop and there are tons here in the city of Hiroshima obviously. Chose this one because it has many reviews on google and it opens late unlike others. Arrived around 7 and there’s lineup. You can tell the shop is very used to serving tourists and has English menu readily available and put down order while you wait in the line, which is good. Their Okonomiyaki has udon and normal noodle options. They also has oyster version which is what this city is famous for. Ordered a shrimp pancake and an oyster version. Both tastes very good. Just down to earth kind of food. The sauce might be very sweet to some, just so you know. Strongly recommend if you have difficulty choosing one hiroshimayaki place.

Not worth waiting for. We came at 5:15pm and had to wait around an hour to get in, and the food was average. We tried another Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki that’s more local to have a comparison point, and enjoyed that place much better for half the price. The noodles at Mitchan was not crispy enough for our liking. We were a party of 2 and had to share a table with other people which was kind of awkward. The pluses were that they did include a healthy amount of seafood, big portions, and the flour used was mochi-like which was interesting. Grilled oyster was good, only available in the Japanese menu but you can still order it.
