The Oldest Newest Wine Region in the World

"A small producer that also runs a respected restaurant in Sighnaghi, known for an orange-hued 2016 Rkatsiteli that offers tropical and tree-fruit notes; it represents the approachable, skin-fermented whites that have drawn interest beyond local markets." - Ray Isle

Amazing views and great food! Service was also very nice. We had dinner almost alone, only few other people on terrace. They offer also wine tasting which looked good quality too. There are few (overly) friendly cats, who like to accompany you on your meal 😁

I would definitely recommend to visit not only this beautiful town but also this place for food. We were part of a day tour and they helped us with the arrangements of getting lunch here. But you can also just go by yourself and ask for a table with an amazing view. The food it's to die for. And you can tell you're helping a local family that has a local business and that truly makes it even better. We felt so happy and so comfortable. The food was even too much but it was not difficult to want to eat at all because it was delicious 🤤

We stayed there yesterday night for wine tasting and food. The two girls working there are amazing (exspecially the blond one, Jane😍) they offered us so many tasting and stop with us to better explain what we were drinking. Amazing experience!! Giulio & Ben

A lovely dining experience at Okro's Wine Restaurant. Our table was booked in advance and food was ready by the time we reached. Amazing location overlooking the valley, we had live traditional music played just for us. We then had the wine tasting session and wow the wines kept pouring with a delicious pork barbecue. I loved the experience, what I loved was the label of the wine bottles, artistic just like the wine. Beautiful day

TL:DR - Don’t go!! There are many better places around. I very rarely leave a bad review. But this was one of the rare occasions when it was so bad that it deserves the effort. We went to Okros with high hopes. All we wanted was to try some wines. I had read several bad reviews of the horrible service, but could it really be that bad? The only greeting we got was a short - No card, only cash - with a semi-aggressive tone and a sour looking face. Okay, off to a bad start but could be overlooked. We then proceeded to wait for a very long time before getting a menu. Mind you, there was only one couple there drinking wine, and three young guys waiting for their order. We got no explanation of the wines or of the venue but decided to go for two whites. The prices are about double that of nearby restaurants and the most expensive we have seen so far in Georgia. Unfortunately, none came to take our order. Also the three guys waiting for their order were just left there sitting. They didn’t look too happy either. After spending close to 45 minutes without any sign of life, we left. I guess they have better things to do than tend their guests. Don’t go here! There are much better places around with nice, warm and friendly customer service Georgia is known for.

So... First of all the food, wasn't great except some dishes like: chichen with tomato sauce and peppers and some greens. In addition, the service was not the best. Threre was only one person for the service and it was very slow. Also, the cashier was 2 floors down amd until you get down and then up the timed had passed. Moreover, there was a 15% mandatory tip. The place was relaxing and also one cat that she was there was cute and well behaved.

5 star experience, reminds me of my hometown in Kentucky, real friendly folks. Homecooked meals, heartfelt n friendly. Now people in western kentucky don’t make wine like they do right here, nothin’ like the moonshine we make right at home but trust me, this type of hospitality can only be felt in god fearing country

Go. Visit this place. It's a tough walk uphill from the town but it is so so worth it. The view from the patio is absolutely breathtaking. The restaurant owners were very nice and helpful. We did not do a wine tasting but did have a bottle of wine for the meal. The wine was very good, completely natural and was probably one of the best bottles of wine had in all of Georgia. The food was great too. Reasonable prices too. The owners also showed us their wine cellar and it was so cool. I would loved to have brought some bottles home but it's difficult when travelling.
