Always a good experience. Food was incredible. Charcoal Karaage is not your ordinary Karaage, the sesame bomb inside complement the chicken perfectly. Sashimi is fresh, no fishy smell at all. Love their REAL wasabi, tasted pungent yet slightly sweet. Gyudon is good but composition is not to my liking, too much rice as compared to the beef. But tasted good. For dessert, They served us WATER MOCHI, not on the menu. Very interesting, it tastes like water but has jelly-like consistency. Great for experience but taste-wise, well.. it tastes like water. Hahahah. Atmosphere and Service was great.

I am a japanese food lover and i don’t mind to over pay for it. But Oku's set menu felt like a robbery . We spent IDR 4 million (≈ €240) and received only a few undersized plates with decidedly mediocre flavors. The supposed “main course” — a steak that cost extra even though it was part of the set — was advertised as truffle-infused, yet offered neither the aroma nor the taste of truffle, the desert was tastless an ice cream with kasava something cannot be part of a set menue . The staff were pleasant, but that didn’t erase the feeling of being overcharged. Bottom line: if you value fresh ingredients and memorable flavours, skip Okko and dine elsewhere.

I had dinner at OKU last year with family. It's nice moment. The Japanese chef came to us to have little conversation. It's nice moment talking to him. Good food, romantic vibes. But, the server gave us the foods in hurry. So, we can't enjoy meals comfortably. It's something like you have to finish eating foods soon 🤣🤣. It would be nice if the staffs could wait the customer patiently not in hurry to serve the foods. Because the restaurant atmosphere was so relax, intimate and private 🤗

Tonight We tried the set menu at Okko Jakarta and felt completely let down. The dishes lacked flavor, the number of dishes is very low for a set menu , the miso soup was overly salty and was served after the main, the Wagyu (supposedly with truffle) had no truffle not a tiny smell of truffle and came in tiny slices with way too much rice. Dessert was plain and unimpressive, and we only got four pieces of sashimi. We paid 4.7 millions IDR, this felt like a total scam. Definitely not worth it I can’t deny that the staff were nice

Amazing Japanese Dining Experience at OKU I had an incredible dining experience at OKU Japanese Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, with top-quality ingredients and perfectly executed flavors. Every dish was a delight, showcasing authentic Japanese cuisine at its best. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable, making it an ideal place to enjoy a meal, whether with friends, family, or a significant other. The service was exceptional—special thanks to Ms. Nadine, who was very friendly, attentive, and efficient. She made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. Although the prices are on the higher side (I spent around IDR 4,5 mio for 2 pax), they are absolutely worth it for the quality and experience provided. I highly recommend OKU to anyone looking for an outstanding Japanese dining experience in the city. Will definitely be coming back!

We ordered the Hotate Pasta, Black Karaage, Salmon Roll, Tuna Roll, and Mochi. The highlight was definitely the Mochi, which was perfectly crafted and delicious. The sushi rolls were fresh, and the Hotate Pasta was rich and flavorful. However, the Black Karaage took a long time to arrive, which slightly impacted the experience. Overall, excellent food with a minor service hiccup.

This place is located in the heart of the city, in an extremely strategic area. Situated within the 5-star Kempinski Hotel, it shares the same building as Grand Indonesia Shopping Mall. Just across the street, you’ll find Indonesia’s top hotel and shopping mall, the Grand Hyatt and Plaza Indonesia. This Japanese restaurant offers a fine dining experience with top-notch flavors, and the prices reflect the quality. Highly recommended—definitely worth a visit!
