"Kos, Greece Pure relaxation is difficult to find, but it’s near-impossible not to lean into the chilled-out vibe you feel immediately as you enter Oku’s open reception. Inspired by the relaxed Greek way of life, Oku aims to combine local culture with relaxation, and easily succeeds. Somehow there are 100 rooms in the hotel, but it feels more like 20; the property is wonderfully private, and Greek-style whitewashed buildings blend seamlessly into the open landscape. Guests can choose from rooms with private or semi-private pools (shared with two other rooms, but surprisingly personal), or opt for a larger villa with a roof terrace and sea views. Special mention to the showers, which are some of the best I’ve used in a hotel thanks to the strong waterfall current and moody, stone walls that lean into the minimal aesthetic. Food at Oku, overseen by executive Chef Mark Vaessen, is impeccable and unapologetically Greek. Salads are topped with crumbly feta and tomatoes that burst in the mouth, while the tzatziki is so good it's impossible not to order a bowl at every meal. Take your dinners outside where you can watch the sunset—which sets over nearby Kalimnos and is guaranteed to be one of the most stunning you've seen—over the hotel's private beach, with a cocktail made at the bar in-hand. —Abigail Malbon Distance to the water: On the beach Travel time: 14 minute drive from Kos International Airport Price: Rooms from around $371 per night" - Lauren Burvill

"Best for: laid-back romance Set on a private beachfront on the north of Kos, Oku embodies relaxed minimalism, with hotel rooms housed in whitewashed buildings, and everything at ground level (aside from the few rooms that have two floors). Couples should book into one of the swim-up suites, where fringed hammocks hang from private terraces and overlook a pool shared with just two other rooms. A stay here feels like moving into a very chic village, where you have easy access to a spa and restaurant, and your well-dressed neighbors (adults-only) are also there to soak up the tranquillity for a few nights. Price: from about $211 per night" - Rachel Howard, Lauren Burvill

We had a brilliant time at OKU in October. The room was absolutely gorgeous, the service was wonderful and wow - the beach access was spectacular (2 min walk from the hotel restaurant). Appreciated small touches like the speaker in the room and the very enjoyable star gazing evening. The food was generally brilliant (though not cheap) - if you are planning to spend most of your time in the hotel/at the beach, I would book half-board to have dinner at the hotel. We didn’t do this as we wanted to try restaurants in Kos town and travel a bit around the island during our stay. My one complaint is the coffee (served at breakfast/the bar) which really was not good enough for this calibre of hotel. For swimmers - the outdoor pool felt more designed for lounging (and instagram…) than for actually swimming in, and was located at the bar/restaurant. They do have a heated indoor pool which we used every day but it is pretty small, so not for serious swims (FYI use of the sauna comes at an additional cost). The hotel is fairly remote so if you are planning day trips/going into Kos town for other restaurants etc. I would recommend renting a car. There’s a lovely winery nearby that I recommend and the hotel was incredibly helpful with organising day trips/experiences - if we go back to Kos I would stay here in a heartbeat!

What an amazing place to celebrate my birthday. This is one of the best hotels we've stayed at. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left, it was seamless. Rooms were amazing. Everything you needed was provided to you. Staffs were fantastic, they were very helpful and welcoming. I must mention Daniel and Elpida who were extremely helpful and their hospitality made our stay at OKU even more pleasant. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking to relax and just enjoy each other's company. ||We had the best time and will definitely come back again!

Super stylish hotel with a very laid back vibe. Decor is very cool throughout. The food and cocktails at the hotel restaurant were some of the best we had on our holiday. We stayed in a junior suite with its own pool, which was a decent size. Location is definitely out of the way, with not a lot in walking distance so you have to plan trips in advance.

We went to OKU Kos for our honeymoon and could not be happier with our decision. The staff was extremely nice, the accommodation was insanely beautiful. We had the room with the shared pool, tho we did not use it much as the main pool and the beach were amazing. I would also like to point out the Spa employees specifically. We went for a couples massage and I also got a facial, and they were worth every penny. Specifically I want to mention the very lovely Frosini who is an angel personified. She made our stay 10000% more memorable and we are so thankful to her. The food is also out of this world, every thing we tried tasted amazing, drinks included. Could not recommend it more.

We had a great family vacation at OKU first time with all together and it was so nice. Arrival and pick-up by booked transfer work perfectly. We had rooms next to each other so we could sit at the pool in our rooms and had extra family privacy, which we loved. Private beach and adult only is a big plus. We highly recommend the Spa treatment by Frosini the spa manager she’s creating miracles with her hands and fixed back issues and headaches by giving the best massage.

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had with my partner. Incredible service from every single staff member. The hotel is vibrant, clean, and very beautiful and there is a attention to details everywhere. Food is excellent too, with incredible bartenders. Pool and beach is perfect, plenty of space and lounge vibe music, with plenty of service from the amazing staff. I will definitely be going back to the Hotel, I cannot recommend it enough.

This place is superbly designed and very peaceful. When we contacted front desk they were very cordial and super helpful. The breakfast had loads of options and a very tasty orange juice. However, at the restaurant and the beach they were somewhat detached and not very aware of guests- you constantly had to get to get up to get people’s attention. Almost as if everyone had a bit of selective view. At the bar we always had to go to the bar directly as none of the staff would come to greet us to take our order if we would sit down first. We stayed at one of the private beachfront villas and they lovely and cosy but the beach view was limited. The number of beds at beach were always full with people booking them super early which was a bit of an issue at times. I would come back to this hotel but I hope the level of service in the communal areas will improve over time.|Small observation- at breakfast your silverware is at the table with the exception of spoons which you have to get at the restaurant yourself, what is the logic behind this? Not a great customer experience.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it. We had our own beautiful private pool with views looking over neighboring fields, but we loved the beach so much we barely even took advantage of it. The beach setup has comfortable lounge chairs, umbrellas, full food and drink service, and paddleboards. We spent most of our days there enjoying the views and water. The hotel restaurant has great views, food, cocktails, and service. The fitness center has all the necessities, and the massage I got at the spa was the best massage I've ever had. Excellent getaway for a honeymoon. Note that the resort is isolated, which is overall a positive thing. It is quiet and secluded and has all you need. However, you probably want to rent a car so you can explore the island. My wife and I had a rental and drove all over the island, with the longest drive being about 45 minutes. Also, definitely take the 3 island private boat tour if you can. You will love it.
