Very intimate ryokan with private thermal bath. A lovely experience cut out from the world. don't hesitate if you want to experience this luxury Japanese experience. The hotel is very far away from the train, if you want to have some time to relax don't spend too much time in Nikko's temples

Lovely place to stay in the mountains. A bit remote, takes 1 hour 20 minutes from Nikko station by bus. The rooms have onsens with a strong sulphur composition. The meals (both dinner and breakfast) were delicious!

I and my husband decided to stay here for 3 nights. This also means we had 3 wonderful dinners (and breakfasts). We both like the quiet and peaceful ambiance and love the great cuisine presented with beautiful tableware.
We will definitely revisit this hotel.

Great place, the location is a bit remote. The bus from Nikko station is quite convenient. The staff was super friendly and hospitable. The food is delicious and the onsens are a treat!

Great experience. The room had our own Onsen, the food and accommodation were both great. Only small critique I have is the Onsen is always really hot

Located not too far from Lake Chuzenji is this small hotel tucked among the snow. Driving is preferred. There are only 16 rooms in the main building.
The staff were very attentive and service was top notch. They even assisted us with our luggage all the way and parked our car for us.
The highlight of the hotel is of course the open air onsen right in your own room. It was snowing and this made it all the more magical. The room itself was huge and we had modern twin beds and even a rocking chair. The bath and the toilet were separate.
Meals were provided and were delish. Very fresh ingredients from the local area.
There were 2 more small onsens that guests could use all to themselves without a booking. Just walk in and lock the area after yourself. There were indoor and outdoor baths and again the view was awesome. It was not crowded and we did not have trouble getting to use these public areas all for ourselves.
Small areas with sitting and log burning fireplaces to chill and have some complimentary coffee and ice cream were a nice touch.
Though pricy the experience was worth it.
