This was a really great surprise.Doesn't really look like much when you get there. But it has a great outdoor patio seating. And the food is way over the top way better than you would expect.Especially try the artichoke cheese dip with real goat 🧀 and artichokes on top I'm telling you for sure. The food quality is way better than you anticipate. We gave the food an A plus the people were great. The environment was great, but the food.

What a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Our appetizer was the highlight. We ordered cauliflower appetizer. It’s a chill vibe place.

Google
Showed up at 620pm on a Saturday in spring Told it would be a 30 min wait for a table and 1 hour wait for food Put our name on the list and then went to three rivers brewing for a drink with a timer set. Went back at the 20 min mark to make sure we didn’t miss our call, as there isn’t a text service or buzzer etc. We were then told that they had called our name 3 times already and had moved on and sat other people. After 10 min wait they then said they could seat us. All while the entire inside dining room was empty. We sat outside in the courtyard for 15 minutes before anyone took a drink or meal order or brought over water. Water was then provided by a different waiter while we waited for our server. By 730pm we had placed our drinks and food order. Food then came quite quick. The food is really great. The location is great, it’s just the service is a bit slow and the front staff were rude and the issue with the putting our name on the list. Would recommend if you want good quality food, smaller portion sizes but great tasty fresh food. The cauliflower and the pesto spaghetti were so good!

Google
This place was nice and the food was good. We sat outside near the river to enjoy the view while we ate our meal. It was nice how ever I got comped on by mosquitoes, 2 of my friends didn't and 1 other did like me so if mosquitoes are always a problem for you like me you might want to eat inside or spray yourself before going in. The menu isn't the biggest but it works.

Google
Great restaurant recommended to us by another shop owner in town. Lovely view of the river - either indoor or outdoor seating. Parking is limited. I recommend the pasta for dinner and the hot chocolate also includes homemade whipped cream - yummy! Burger is also good. The only thing I was disappointed with was the flank steak. Portion was too small compared to the price you are paying. My steak was also overcooked, the other members of my party had their steaks cooked to their liking. Would recommend this restaurant after a long day of hiking.

Google
This is a great place to have a hearty breakfast before going into Sequoia National Park. The food is yummy, the servers are all very nice and the view of the river behind the restaurant is lovely.

Google
What a wonderful place to eat! The atmosphere near a river is wonderful. We ate outside in the garden and it was quiet and cozy. The food is sooo good! There are a lot of vegetarian and even vegan options to choose from. The menu includes many creative creations, which we didn't expect in the middle of nowhere.

If you’re visiting Sequoia National Park and want to grab a bite to eat, look no further than the Buckaroo. We only spent one day & one night in the area, but visited twice - once for brunch and again for an early dinner. The good: the food is excellent. If you sit outside in the back, it’s a great view of the river. The bad: the service is pretty slow, so be prepared to wait 30-45 minutes for your meal. Credit to the servers as they’ll tell you about the long wait. But even with the slow service, it’s worth coming here. For brunch we had the egg sandwich with potatoes and my partner got the chilaquiles. For dinner I got the fried chicken sandwich with waffle fries and she got an arugula salad.

Yelp
So many good things to say about our experience at this wonderful restaurant!! My wife and I were staying in Three Rivers, going to the neighboring National Parks for 4 days. We came across Ol Buckaroo off a recommendation by our AirBnB Host. It was so good we came in TWICE for dinner on different days during our stay. I'll highlight both meals I had. But first, the service was great. Both times we came in the restaurant wasn't terribly busy (around 5 PM on weekdays) and we were seated right away. Keep in mind by 6ish/6:30 loads of customers were coming in. The restaurants is cute and small inside with maybe 10-12 tables, but a ton of outdoor seating with mist-fans. We decided to stay inside both times. Our servers who take care of us on both days were attentive and kind, getting us everything we needed quickly and constantly checking on us. Regarding the food: 1st night I ordered the "Pesto Pasta with chicken"--Spaghetti with a creamy basil pesto sauce. To drink I ordered their house-made soda--soda with Watermelon flavoring (yum). You get a large portion of delicious spaghetti (definitely your money's worth) soaked in pesto sauce. The chicken was tender and moist. It was a perfect, carb-filled meal following a long day of hiking. The soda was also tasty and fresh. I highly recommend this dish to anyone coming in with some big-time hunger. The 2nd visit I ordered the "Buckaroo Burger:"--a durham ranch beef patty, American Cheese, lettuce, tomato and Buckaroo sauce. I had a side of fries and to drink, the "Pims Cup:" Sparkling Water, lemon, cucumber, and fruit garnish. On the menu the drink is described as, "slightly sweet and refreshing with a hint of anise flavor," perfectly described and true. The burger was good (maybe not as good as the Pesto Pasta I had a couple nights before, but good). It was everything a good burger should be! Ol Buckaroo contributed to our amazing stay and vacation and we hope to come back one day. We'll definitely be recommending to any of our friends and family who ever plan to go to Sequoia or Kings Canyon National Parks. What a gem.

Yelp
I ate here after spending the day at sequoia national park, and wow it really hit the spot!! I came in a party of 6, and everyone really loved their food and the service was friendly and welcoming. The inside decor was cute, but to be honest with you, the patio is really just peak ambiance. We didn't sit outside because it was too cold, but I would definitely recommend sitting outside if you can! The outside patio has string lights, and is overlooking the river. The sound of the river is so relaxing. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was TO DIE FOR!! I have never had Brussels sprouts so delicious , I find myself wanting to try to make them at home since I live 3hrs away and won't be able to make it back anytime soon.

Yelp
When planning my trip to Sequoia National Park, I used Yelp to find local food where we could sit down and eat a good meal. That is how I stumbled upon Ol Buckaroo! Upon arrival around 6 pm there was no parking outside so we had to drive a bit down the strip to find a spot. When we arrived we did not have a reservation, but were sat immediately. However, everyone following us was put on a wait due to the lack of seating inside. The inside wasn't anything special in regards to ambiance or decor, but the food was amazing! We both ordered two different types of burgers and they were super filling. They both came with a side of fries and the sweet potato fries were great! I will say the service at this location was lacking in communication and efficiency, but I am glad we stopped. I noticed the people next to us had their order placed wrong by the server and she became very disgruntled to find this out. The host was also very young and it was evident she was not quite sure the procedures of seating customers in the restaurant.

Yelp
One of the only 3 restaurants in town and by far the best one! Quite a good menu, a few vegan and vegetarian options. Food was okay, some items better than others but overall good. Nice outdoor patio (not covered). Good service!

Yelp
My partner and I had dinner here our first night while visiting sequoia. The servers were nice, however, our food took forever and our fries were cold. My partner got the chicken sando which was to fried and not enough chicken. I got the burger and it was pretty dry. There isn't many options for dinner so this one wasn't the worst but also not the best. I did like the ambiance of the restaurant, especially the outdoor seating.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a beautiful Sunday morning for brunch and this place was such a vibe! Lovely morning with lovely staffs and delicious food. My favorite was probably the chicken and waffle. Would def come back to try their dinner menu and other goodies!

Yelp
Stopped here on our last day after being out in Sequoia NP. Was a bit worried of our attire but this place is pretty casual. Parking can be a struggle since the parking situation is small. Once inside we opted for indoor seating to enjoy the cool air conditioning even though the outdoor patio looked fun with what looked like misters. The menu offered a variety of dishes. We got the shrimp tacos, burger, the flank steak special and the kids grilled cheese with chicken wings to start off with. Our drinks came out and soon our food right after. Service was fast! Food was delicious. Steak was tender and the burger was juicy. The only issue we had were the constant flies swarming around our table. We were mainly guarding our food as we ate which was comical. I get that it's attached to the outdoor area but still.... Aside from that the staff was friendly. The service & food was spot on.

Yelp
This is a great place to go and grab some drinks. It's right next to the Kaweah River and has a great vibe! They have mostly outdoor seating with picnic tables under a shed or umbrellas and many mist machines to keep you cool on a hot day! They also have some games like axe throwing (not real axes, velcro type board for the fake axes to stick), corn hole, etc. However, the food was quite disappointing. We tried a bunch of vegetarian items, so it may be just that vegetarian dishes are not their forte. - Curried squash skewers - I wish these had been charred more. Also, the sauce was quite bland and didn't go very well with the squash. - Things that make you go hmmm - This is hummus with roasted baby carrots. The hummus and roasted carrots were ok. It's very hard to eat hummus with roasted carrots though, because they are very soft and can't really be dipped well in the hummus. Also, there were 6 baby carrots and a whole lot of hummus, so you end up having a lot of hummus and nothing to eat it with. - Crispy Brussel sprouts - This was quite good, especially the cranberries. - Fries - Surprisingly not that great. They were too soft.

Yelp
A very charming place to visit. I would highly recommend eating outside if you plan to dine here. You'll get great views of the river and mountains. My partner and I came for dinner on a Friday night and it was packed. Service was really slow, but very kind. We tried the mushroom risotto, the fried chicken sando, the lemon bar, and their chocolate dessert. Everything was very tasty. We loved the cheesiness and the way the mushrooms were prepared in the risotto. The fried chicken had a bit too much horseradish that took over the whole sandwich, but was still ok. We were left wanting more lemon flavor in the lemon bar, there was more crust than lemon. I adored the chocolate dessert. It was like a thick dark chocolate mousse. It was heavenly. I'm happy we stopped here for dinner.

Yelp
Food is really good considering it's isolated location. My friend and I stopped in after hiking Sequoia NP and ordered their special (salmon with farro) and it was out of this world. Perfectly cooked. We also got their lemon bar for dessert and it was one of my top 5 best lemon bars ever. We stopped in again the next day and ordered steak and pasta. Steak was good but didn't stand out. Pasta was really basic. Not bad but nothing to write home about. Service was PHENOMENAL! Our waitresses were super friendly, made the place feel like a friend's home, and even gave us a tiramisu on the house The place is small but excellent location and homey feel. It's worth a stop if you're in Three Rivers.

Yelp
Some of the best food I've tried in a very long time. The artichoke dip is do dieeee for, I crave it everyday! The service was quick and the place is super cozy and warm 10/10

Yelp
I'm so done with you, Ol Buckaroo! If I could give you negative stars, I would. I've been a patron here for about ten years. They were just the food truck and patio when I started coming here. Food is good! Ambiance is great. But they're NEVER open. I have driven up with my family numerous times to find they are closed. I check their socials, I check yelp, and I check their website, says they're open only to drive up and they're closed. The Sign on THEIR DOOR lists their hours as open. SMH!! Not worth my time, gas, and mileage on my car to come up here. Quit playing in our face, Ol Buckaroo!

Yelp
What a tasty spot! Recommended by our AirBnB host this place is yummy! Fantastic friendly service, quick and high quality food. Not sure why all the bad reviews. We had the best experience here, from the moment we walked in to end of service it was top notch. I had the French onion burger and it was divine! Thick, juicy, excellent soft bread. Hubby who is a chef had the fig apple grilled cheese and wow what flavor. Creamy cheese delight. Just remember that big parties should call ANY WHERE in advance bc it helps a restaurant prepare and serve you better. We had both deserts the lemon bar and salted chocolate pot du creme. Delicious. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
BEST! Salmon in the 559 and if your not into fresh melt in your mouth fish they do offer local farm to table beef sourced from Durham Ranch Beef, skirt steaks, 80/20 patties, home made bbq sauce everything is prepared with love just like eating in Moms or Grandmas/Grandpas Kitchen. I for one will always levitate towards the small ma and pa restaurants especially when you can eat by candle light right on the river so dreamy! yes Fellas that is a hint!!!! Oh and they do take reservations for party's of 5 and up so don't hesitate to plan for your next Three Rivers Trip!
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my, yes! We ended up here because the restaurant where we usually eat on our occasional visits to Three Rivers was closed. We'll be back by choice. The menu isn't extensive, but there's some nice variety, from crisped Brussel sprouts to burgers to a spaghetti and meatball special on our visit. The Buckaroo Burgers were large, juicy enough to drip steadily, and served on delicious soft, toasted rolls. Skinny and sweet potato fries were crisp. Our granddaughter's grilled cheese sandwich was loaded with cheese, on thick bread soft in the middle and crisped on the outside to "perfection" in her description. There is a large outdoor table area that overlooks the river (and some window tables inside) that afforded us a beautiful setting sun over the mountain on the other side. It's only open for a few hours and not every day, so check first. But definitely worth a stop!
google avatar

Yelp
The fried chicken sando with frieswas the best. Seriously, the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. With the fries and a small salad we had leftover in our AirBnB fridge, one sandwich was enough for two of us.

Artesian S.

Yelp
Seriously disappointed. The wait time is horrendous. They are short staffed both in the front and the back. Food is not worth the wait. The woman (possibly the manager or owner) is super rude! I wish I had known this before wasting my money and time.

Karin S.

Yelp
There aren't many places in Three Rivers to choose from so we were a little skeptical about this place. Everything is small with tricky parking situations plus it's so dark so early which adds to the funny ambiance- but we were able to be seated immediately and there are 7 of us. The menu is fairly small but I imagine it would be hard to do a large menu really well in the middle of a small town. Everything we got was delicious! We loved the burgers and chicken sandwich. Everything was hot, fresh, and flavorful. The burgers had thick fresh patties. We were all very happy and enjoyed our meals. Their sweet potato fries were yummy too.

Kikay C.

Yelp
Great outdoor ambiance, decent food. Unfortunately we got a server who doesn't like her job. Blonde lady with wavy hair and glasses(will find out her name) We had a group of 13. 10/13 people were in table, but she likes to go pass our table. I finally asked if she can at least take our drink order since we all just went hiking at the national park, BUT she loves to tell us that she" doesn't normally take any orders until everyone is around" Be mindful, we also had 3 toddlers around. Most restaurant would actually offer to put order in for the kiddos, but again "she doesn't normally take any orders until everyone is around." This is why I'm against, automatic gratuity coz you will automatically get lazy people who shouldn't be in dining industry.

Yelp
We were visiting the town and found this resto. The food is great and with outdoor dine in. Beautiful view of the river!

Yelp
Let me just list everything that went wrong. - No parking, we had to park far away and walk because they only have like 10 spots - We came in at 7:15, really hungry after a long hike. We were put on the wait list, but had to wait longer than they told us, and then again for the server to come over and get the food out. We eventually got our food at 8:50 pm. That is almost a 2 hour wait for some food! - They brought the food out only after I asked the waitress to check on my order. I got the vegan burger, and to my dismay, the fries were cold. Like, freezing cold. So was my vegan burger. My boyfriend got the regular burger, and though his fries were warm, his burger was grossly UNDERCOOKED. Which we only realized after we ate, because at this point we were starving and tired. - The waitress was nice enough to take 20% off our order, but the terrible food, bad service, and time wasted was not worth $6 off.

Yelp
We arrived 15 min after it opened and my husband and I were seated right in front of the river view. There are misters and umbrellas that provide shade. We had a Pimms cup with artichoke dip. My husband had a chicken sandwich and I had the salmon bowl. Everything was delicious. Great service! We topped it off with the lemon bar for dessert. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this place. We want to come back again on our last night. Enjoy!

Yelp
There aren't a ton of restaurants in Three Rivers, so this one will likely be on your list to try if you're in the area. And I think in general you're gonna get exactly what you expect. Food-wise- it's OK. It's not special or anything, but it's tasty enough and prepared OK. Plus there's something pretty much every member of the family will enjoy. You won't leave unhappy... Plus it's right on the river with really amazing views if you dine outside (which you should of course). Overall it's a win-win...
google avatar

Shaun C.

Yelp
Okay, so the food is good... When they're open. This place can't seem to actually be open during business hours. Seriously, how hard is it to update your hours? For the record, it's 0920 on a Sunday, during the summer aka peak travel season for the National Parks and again, they're closed (not the first time) BTW during "business hours" this complete disrespect for patrions this has also happened in the evenings you show up & no ones there.

Okra W.

Yelp
Very good--a bit beyond the usual for the area. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, a few appetizers, beers, light cocktails. Indoor and outdoor seating (with a nice view of the river, and refreshing misters when it's hot!). Prompt, friendly service, reasonably priced. Go for it!! We will return! My only suggestion: the chicken sando is good but the chicken breast should be pounded first--it's too tall for the sandwich!
google avatar

Yelp
This patio set up with long benches and tables makes it feel like you're at a fun backyard kickback with really good food~ I highly recommend the "one heck of a spinach salad", waffle fries, and spice wings! The spinach salad is the perfect refresher salad. The waffle fries seasoning are like lays bbq chips but in crispy waffle form *chefs kiss*. The wings are saucy as they should be. The tacos were good but I do wish they had a salsa or came with more sauce because it was a little dry. They also have dessert! The lemon bar is so good and a perfect way to end the meal.

Yelp
Food was absolutely amazing. Brussels sprouts were phenomenal! Caprese grilled cheese unbelievable! Wait staff extremely friendly. Served fast and you cannot beat the atmosphere and aesthetic of this amazing place. Get there and eat, you will not be disappointed!!

Yelp
Lower your prices Buckaroo Oh paper menu buckaroo Unreadable menu buckaroo Pesto that's Alfredo Buckaroo Don't call it a sando buckaroo

Jim W.

Yelp
We walked right in and were served promptly. An awesome and unique menu. We sat outside with the Kaweah river in our view. Plenty of food for the price. Even several local brews on tap. A quiet hidden gem. Don't miss if opportunity presents.
google avatar

Angel V.

Yelp
Great views! Great food! We got The Cowboy Breakfast and the Eggs Scramble with fresh veggies and potatoes. Potatoes were soft in the inside, crispy in the outside & perfect amount of salt. Got a Beer Mary, it was okay. Also got a Pim's Cup, and that was an extremely refreshing drink. Good service, and in a great location. Walking distance to other shops. And about 10 minutes from SNP entrance.
google avatar

Crystal D.

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner on the patio outside. Nice atmosphere and everyone was very friendly. There was a limited menu but everything looked very fresh.

Kennedy G.

Yelp
Save yourself the trouble and money and go anywhere else. Severely understaffed and overpriced. My husband's chicken sandwich did not even have a drop of sauce on it and it was small for $19.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know how we stumbled upon this place, but after two dinners here, I can confidently say I'm in love. The chef deserves some kind of award for the dinner specials. Both the steak and salmon were out of this world. Went on 9/15 and 9/16. Service was incredible. The dark haired hostess, blonde female server, and TR the guy expo/running food were all so kind and on top of it. AND they were busy. 5/5. Come every time you're in town.

Ashley F.

Yelp
Super disappointed by our experience here. We had dinner here on 5/31 as well as 6/1/24. We ordered their flavored sodas and immediately noticed both our drinks tasted differently from the previous day. My drink was a lavender/white peach, so there was a lot of flavor going on. It took me until halfway through to realize it was an alcoholic drink. I immediately let a waiter know who then communicated with our waitress. I was really disappointed by the way that they handled it. There are a slew of reasons why someone may not want an alcoholic drink (medical, pregnancy, addiction, sobriety, health, etc) and it was honestly handled very nonchalantly. The waitress didn't know what kind of heaviness this mistake caused, yet I got a few "I'm sorry about that" responses and the correct drink replaced. Honestly, if I made that mistake, I would be beside myself, profusely apologizing with empathy, and comping that entire meal. I'm not going into personal detail on what kind of impact this mistake had on me, but I will say that the way that it was responded to was majorly lacking empathy and repair. In my opinion, this was a huge mistake, and with some further thought, anyone could understand how costly of a mistake this could be. In regards to the food, the steak on my sandwich was raw & the salad consisted of lettuce with no toppings. They did remake my steak strips.

Yelp
This joint should be widely known. It has one of the best egg sandwiches and oats. The croissant was perfectly toasted, the eggs were creamy, I would highly recommended.

Angie D.

Yelp
Great, super fast service and the food was delicious! We had the tacos and burrito. The al pastor was fantastic!

Amelia J.

Yelp
After a long day hike over at the park, we decided to stop by for a bite to refuel. Big MISTAKE. The place was crowded.. NOT because the food or service are good .. it's because of how slow they are with service. Sat down and it took 20 mins for water to be bought out and the food took even longer. Food was cold and undercook .. luckily, it was a burger and not chicken. I do not understand the good reviews .. stay away and don't waste your money

Katie M.

Yelp
Why the 5 star reviews?!?!! I came here because of that and am sorely regretful. The service took an eternity. Staff including the hostess is rude. food is bland and undercook!! It's like the kitchen staff slapped a piece of raw meat in between 2 pieces of bread and called it a day. Salad is blah and it took over 2 hours to get our food. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!
google avatar

Shana C.

Yelp
The menu is simple, but the food quality was amazing. Three out of the four members in our group ordered the rib eye which came with Chinese Broccoli and cheesy potatoes. Variations were requested and one member got sweet potato fries and one member got a side salad in lieu of the cheesy potatoes. *Rib Eye Tender, juicy and the seasoning was on on point. Large cut of meat and could have easily been shared between people. Medium rare and rare ordered. *Sweet potato fries- Light, well salted and just enough to compliment the meat. *Side Salad- Nice house Italian dressing with cherry tomatoes and cucumber. It was our friends bday and they even brought him out a nice size of bread pudding with lemon cream. Highly recommend this establishment!

Yelp
Absolutly delicious! Had been looking at this place planning our trip! We had the BBQ wings, salmon special and flank steak. It was all very good and the staff was so nice! Love the decor and chill atmosphere! The lemon bar was phenomenal!!! I highly recommend eating here and having a great dinner!

Yelp
This is a really cute restaurant and the outdoor seating area is super tranquil. The food and drinks were great and the service was speedy and friendly. You're not getting a true three rivers experience without a visit to Ol' Buckaroo.

Yelp
Our family of 6 went here for a delicious brunch on our way to Sequoia National Park. We ordered a variety of plates, including the vegan burger and the chilaquiles and the lemon ricotta pancakes. The pancakes were sublime- incredibly light, flavorful and not over sweet. The chilaquiles were also delicious (they confirmed that the refried beans were vegetarian, which we really appreciated). The vegan burger was massive, but somewhat underwhelming, the patty needed more seasoning and flavor. But it was extremely filling, well cooked and served with a generous serving of fries, and we appreciated having a vegan option in the area. Staff were attentive, kind and helpful. They also have a cute outdoor patio with tables, though we chose to sit inside because of the summer heat. Definitely check this place out when you are in the area!

Yelp
Super burger. Nice bun with juicy beef patty. Brussels were good. The homemade seltzer was yummy! I got the lemon ginger. The risotto was a bit cheesy and not chewy enough for my taste but it had nice asparagus and flavor. The shrimp were tasty. I wanted to come back but they were only open for brunch the next day sadly.

Olga E.

Yelp
Beautiful place with a river view. Great service and tasty food. We loved wings and deserts. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great food but servings on some of this stuff is small Service is friendly but not the fastest, they do stay busy Ambiance is great right next to the river

Yelp
My family and I spent a week up in Three Rivers for our annual family vacation. We were camping nearby, and wanted to swing in a give Ol Buckaroo a shot. The setup was very cool, and even with the hot day, it was nice and breezy/misty (but not too wet) out on the patio. We had a couple mimosa's and split some dishes - all of which were delicious. The server was great, not over the top attentive, but just casual and comfortable, which was great. After we finished, we sat there and finished our drink and had the chance to strike up conversation with a gentleman helping clean up (later found out to be the owner). Turns out he's from where were are from (Northern Ohio) and sat and chatted for awhile. He was great. If were were there longer, we'd have gone back a couple more times. Overall, really cool restaurant in an area focused more on being outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking, etc. We will always go back here when we re in town. Nice meeting you, TR! The Tysons

Grace S.

Yelp
This place is incredible. Best sweet potato fries of my entire life - sooooo crunchy. Burgers were really epic as well. Great and fast service as well!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Service is great and the food is too. I especially loved the roasted cauliflower and Brussel sprouts! Cooked to perfection!

Yelp
We had dinner at this place. Their patio set up is the best. They have some misters to help with the heat. It helps a lot. The menu is pretty straightforward , no many options. We had their burger and it was delicious. Good size, good portion of fries. At 18 and change it felt pricey but I guess this is a touristic area and that is what they do. Kids had the chicken strips which were below average. Service is great and they have a couple of games for the kids to enjoy.
