This is by far the hardest hike (climb is actually a better word) I have ever done, physically but mainly mentally. I have intermediate hiking experience. The climb (especially the last part before the summit) is very steep and technical. Because of this we went pretty slow so physically it was hard but doable. However, the mental part was very hard. This climb is not for the faint hearted and is dangerous as there are no safety ropes. In Europe this would have been a via ferata or klettersteig route. In total it took us almost 12 hours.
If a local tells you that this hike is easy or intermediate, don't believe that because they only want your money. The views were amazing and the crater itself is also beautifull. This made it all worth it, but please be warned that this a very demanding hike. I don't want to demotivate anyone, I just want to write a realistic review. If you like such a challenge: enjoy this adventurous hike! If you're afraid of heights: it might be smart to skip this one.
