My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in August. The grounds are beautiful and the room smelt amazing! The room was spacious and clean and had a lovely view of the plains. On our second evening we could hear a pod of hippos and one of the staff members took us to the fence with his torch to show us them! It was incredible! |There are lots of monkeys on site but they weren’t an issue! |The food was good with lots of choice but is a buffet. Abbie working in the restaurant was so attentive and remembered our drink order even after 1 meal. She really made us feel special and saved us a table with a gorgeous sunrise on our last morning. |In the evening we were enjoying a hot chocolate in the bar and were surprised by a performance from the local Masai tribe. They encouraged lots of guests to get involved and was really special. ||I’ve given it 4 stars instead of 5 purely because I have stayed in a more luxurious lodge in the past who offered extra touches.

This lodge is inside the park and has incredible views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. It is close to all of the major sights in the park so you don't waste time driving to them on dusty roads. The rooms are comfortably rustic. There are two sides to the lodge. One side looks over Mt. Kilimanjaro and the other side looks over the path taken by the elephants and the other animals on the way to the water. We stayed on the elephant side and enjoyed sitting outside watching the animals pass by. Some passed far away, but others passed right by the fence to the property.

The location is fantastic - being right in the heart of the park means you can maximise game drive time. Also the road to Amboseli is very bumpy, so you don’t want to do it more than necessary.|Rooms are a little tired but well equipped, apart from air con. There is a fan but it’s above the mosquito canopy so doesn’t do much. We were glad to have handheld fans with us.|Lots of monkeys and baboons around so keep your doors closed. |Wonderful to see Mt Kilimanjaro and lots of elephants from your room.|Food was decent, especially the Indian food.

This was the last stop on our Classic Kenya safari with TravelBag (and Pollmans Tours in Kenya). They certainly saved the best to last. This property is beautifully kept, the rooms are really clean and big with a lovely wet room shower, there are monkeys in the grounds and a plethora of wildlife to be seen from the gardens and lovely pool area. The view of Mount Kilimanjaro was the icing on the cake! |The food is fab and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. A special thanks to Eric and Daniel. Jambo jambo! 🥰

We were told that there are not a lot of options in Amboseli for visitors to stay and Ol Tukai is the best one. The hotel has a lovely reception area which is preceded by an inviting bird walk (where one can get to see a few birds). The ambience is inviting and there is also the corridor adjacent to the restaurant where elephants and other animals can be spotted regularly. But the rooms are pretty average and the food probably just above average. Due to overcast conditions we never got a single look at Mount Kilimanjaro. As long as one does not raise expectations based on other lodges or camps in Kenya, it would be okay

A friend recommended staying at this lodge when we drove down from Nairobi to visit the national park. Fortunately, because she is a resident of Kenya, we were able to get the resident rate, which is still quite high, but not as high as the non-resident rate. This day does include meals, and we enjoyed buffet dinner the night of check-in and buffet breakfast before checking out. The food was pretty good, but leaves a little to be desired. The rooms are quite small, but sufficient, and the bathrooms are spacious, especially the shower. Keep in mind that the lodge is located inside of the National Park, so you will have to pay to enter the park to get to the lodge. Fortunately, each daily ticket to the National Park is good for 24 hours, so if you enter the park at 2:00 p.m. and pay for one day, that ticket is good until 2:00 p.m. the next day. This timing worked out perfect for our trip from Nairobi for one overnight stay, and we left the park about 23 hours after we entered. Though the nightly rate to stay at the lodge is a little expensive, even for the resident rate, the fact that meals are included and the lodge is inside the national park, makes it a novelty type of stay, and probably worth the price. I think I would stay here again, especially if traveling with friends or family to visit Amboseli National Park.

A very coming environment where the staff makes you feel at home. The first day, so many people had already memorized my name and greeted me each time at meals. They asked how my day was, what animals I saw, etc. shout out to Titus for keeping my room clean, Dennis for assisting me at each meal and Amoit for being a joyful person.
