A friend recommended staying at this lodge when we drove down from Nairobi to visit the national park.
Fortunately, because she is a resident of Kenya, we were able to get the resident rate, which is still quite high, but not as high as the non-resident rate.
This day does include meals, and we enjoyed buffet dinner the night of check-in and buffet breakfast before checking out. The food was pretty good, but leaves a little to be desired.
The rooms are quite small, but sufficient, and the bathrooms are spacious, especially the shower.
Keep in mind that the lodge is located inside of the National Park, so you will have to pay to enter the park to get to the lodge.
Fortunately, each daily ticket to the National Park is good for 24 hours, so if you enter the park at 2:00 p.m. and pay for one day, that ticket is good until 2:00 p.m. the next day.
This timing worked out perfect for our trip from Nairobi for one overnight stay, and we left the park about 23 hours after we entered.
Though the nightly rate to stay at the lodge is a little expensive, even for the resident rate, the fact that meals are included and the lodge is inside the national park, makes it a novelty type of stay, and probably worth the price. I think I would stay here again, especially if traveling with friends or family to visit Amboseli National Park.
