Our stay at the Olas Verdes Hotel was outstanding. The rooms are large and comfortable, rooms are generally made up while you go to breakfast and the staff are incredibly friendly and create a family like atmosphere for guests. The food is delicious, we actually had most of our meals here by choice. The hotel is a 3-5 minute walk to the beach, and our kids alternated going between the pool at the hotel, and playing in the waves at the beach. Easy to boogie board and surf, go running at the beach, bike into the local town (3-5 minute bike ride), with bikes provided by the hotel. The hotel thought of everything and were super responsive. Highly recommend!

This was our second time to Nosara and wanted to half a family surf vacation. We loved this hotel and the people in it. The room was clean and spacious. We were very comfortable. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful. We loved how geared the hotel was for surfers and families. We brought our own boards and loved how we could just walk through the jungle and be on the beach. The food was excellent, every single meal, and reasonable priced. The people were so kind. Thank you Nicole, Daniela, and Johnny! We will definitely be back!

The room we stayed in was beautiful and fully equipped. From there, we were able to observe families of monkeys in the surrounding trees—quite a spectacle. The staff was very friendly and always available to answer any questions we had. We wanted to snorkel, but the sea was very rough that day. However, the ATV ride to San Juanillo Beach was a great experience. The restaurant's food was very good; we had something different every night we were there, and the waiters' service was excellent.

Great stay for surf, sleep and serenity — just skip the surf school Highly recommend this hotel if you’re after good sleep, surfing, and a relaxing time. It’s in a quiet part of town, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, and away from the busier, party-heavy areas. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The in-house massage is a great perk — highly recommended and pretty good value for Nosara. Breakfast was also decent and set me up well for the day. My only flag would be the attached surf school. It was significantly more expensive than others in the area, and unfortunately, the lessons were the least enjoyable and least effective of the many I took during my three weeks in Nosara. I’d suggest enjoying the hotel and booking surf lessons elsewhere.

Celebrated our son’s high school graduation at Olas Verdas with our two 14 year old daughters. Our son wanted a surfing vacation. This hotel did not disappoint. We stayed in two of the apartments. Customer service and cleanliness was excellent. Food was great including breakfast! On site surfing instructions were excellent! My son learned a ton!|All the staff were very friendly and helpful. My daughter was complaining about bug bites at our dinner one night and the bartender overheard her and brought some lotion to help the itching! They also made our breakfast in to go containers on our departure date as we left very early. Very helpful! |A couple items to note. |-There are no chairs on the beach. I was hoping to sit in a beach chair and watch my son surf but there are no chairs available- just beach towels. I would recommend bringing a beach blanket. |-Bring bug spray. The bugs may depend on the season but they were definitely some even by the pool. |-We did the ATV waterfall tour. The ride was almost completely on town roads. Waterfall was a bit underwhelming. They told us to wear sneakers because we needed them to drive the ATVs however they did not tell us we would be hiking through a ton of water to get to the water falls so bring some sort of water shoes if you choose to do that tour. We unfortunately ruined 5 pairs of good sneakers.

All of the hotel staff is absolutely tremendous. They will help you with absolutely anything you need from setting up. Excursions to pointing you in the right direction to getting an insect out of your room. It is very friendly opening atmosphere. It is casual but still very nice. I could not have picked a better location for my first solo Costa Rica trip. My goal is to never go to the same place twice, but I may have to make an exception here.

We stayed here for 5 nights in March with our two teenage boys. Upon arrival, they immediately took all of our luggage and met us with bottles of fresh juice and cold towels, then gave a tour of the property. On the second night there was an issue with our room & they were incredibly accommodating and moved us to a new spot right away. There are two pools, and between the two, you can always find a quiet pool as the hotel is not very large. The pool loungers were mostly in the shade which was lovely because it was so hot. The pool was saltwater and a lovely temperature and always very clean. The path to the beach takes about 3 minutes to walk and is through the jungle. A lovely walk, if you ask me. It's nice that the coastline is all greenery and not littered with hotels, because of the building restrictions (not within 200m of high tide I believe). Hotel had free boogie boards which were high quality boards and we used them every day. Surfboards are available to rent on site at Safari Surf, along with lessons. We also used the free bikes to go into town to the market, which made it much quicker. The rooms themselves are nice and well equipped. Came with shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathroom and in the kitchen there was a full bag of coffee and some tea and milk in the fridge. Staff were all amazing, so friendly and even remembered our names. The included breakfast had a lot of selection and was delicious. We had almost everything on the menu between the 4 of us.

We stayed at olas verde for 3 days after staying in Tamarindo for 3 days. Olas Verde is a hotel immersed in nature. You wake up to howler monkeys which are not loud and obtrusive but a soft howl. It’s actually enjoyable to see them swing from the branches. We stayed in the room suite above the kitchen. The suite had a sitting area with pull out couch and outdoor rooftop patio and full bathroom. It was a large suite but AC was only available in the bedroom not the entire suite, which was a little disappointing but we managed. It was rainy season so it was hot and humid. It was also buggy. They sell sunblock and off bug spray at the check in area. They also give complimentary juice drink and a water canteen for your stay. The route to the beach is a beautiful nature walk through the Forrest that leads to the beach where surfers enjoy catching some waves. |The chef is amazing. Our meals weee absolutely perfect. I went fishing and caught wahoo, yellow fin tuna and Bonita. I brought it back to the resort cleaned and ready for the grill. She prepared it just the way I liked it- tuna tar tar and seared wahoo and tuna over fresh vegetables and mash potatoes. With each bite I was in heaven. Upon our departure She even prepared a seared wahoo sandwich with tartar sauce. It was the best fish sandwich I’ve ever had. ||The bed was perfect and after a few days in the sun we slept well. ||They have a salt pool which was amazing and refreshing to soak in. The resort was overall quiet and peaceful. The local bartender made signature drinks which I enjoyed sampling. Staff was very cordial and accommodating to our few requests. |They had bikes for us to use and explore the town which we enjoyed.|Overall I would go back.
