The bar and wait staff was great!! My son and I golfed and the course was in great shape! While we golfed my wife took our other 2 kids to the pool and they had a blast! We have camped here for eight years and the kids look forward to it every year. From the pool, the food, and the service you can’t go wrong.

Enjoyed our stay in the barn. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had 3 of the four rooms and all guests were happy with their accommodations. Very nice area to sit outside as well. Beautiful golf course and easy access to bike trails.

We really enjoy sending time at the Old Barn Resort. We use are bikes as our mode of transportation when we are there and the bike trails are well kept and close. We also like the river that runs through the area. A fly fisherman dream. Then cap of the evening with a drink by the fire. Very relaxing.

Great customer service for everything. |Golf course is beautiful, bike trails easily accessible, and restaurant was fabulous. Beautiful sunsets while sipping a beer from patio. |We stayed in our RV and did not tow our car just brought our e bikes. So many activities to do no car needed.

Staff was very accomadating, grounds were very clean and the campground is amazing!! Golf course was a blast, damn the gophers though.... pool was great minus the Asian beetles and box elder bugs!!!! We had a site without septic but worked out great as the dump station is easily accessible.

Wonderful place! Went above and beyond to ensure we could stay an extra night. Bathhouse was very clean, campground is well cared for. So many things for families to do. We can’t wait to go back next year! Jill was amazing to work with. The old barn itself is very neat to see.

The campground is fantastic and well maintained. Close to the bike trail. Wonderful golf course. So fun to play we played it twice. Bar and restaurant on site food was great. Had the ribs so good. And the pool awesome. Will visit again and again.

Bathrooms were impressively cleaned every day. Property is well maintained. Location is gorgeous. Bike path easily accessible. Text communication is very efficient. The Old Barn itself is an extremely impressive historical building. The pool is large, enclosed, and clean.|We loved our stay. Thank you! 😊❤️

Yelp
We stopped in for golf at River's Bend Golf Course. Wednesday special was unlimited golf for $35 (includes cart). The front nine was rather short from the forward tees so I eked out a few pars. Water plays a factor in a few holes. Not much for sand and there were a few rolling hills. Tee boxes were in bad shape but the greens were very nice. Back nine was hillier and more challenging with narrower fairways and more water challenges. Staff checking us in was friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful. The bike trail is near so we heard a few riders zooming past. We played fast. Our first 18 holes took about 3 hours. We bopped over to hole two after finishing 18 and played 6 more of the front nine until we caught up to a foursome. Beautiful day on the course.

Yelp
Didn't meet expectations! Ribs were overcooked, nothing special about the sides. The restaurant has potential this was my second visit. I'd be surprised if we go there again.

Yelp
We went here on Sunday with my in-laws. We were seated and then we sat there waiting for a server to stop by our table. And we waited and waited. Other groups came in and were seated with orders taken. None of the 3 servers would bother to came take our order. After 15 minutes my wife and mother in law went to the restroom when we finally got the attention one of the servers. She seemed annoyed that we had to ask for a minute until my wife came back. That was enough for us. We told the servers we were leaving and she made it clear that she didn't care

Yelp
We did not stay here, but stopped on over for dinner one night - it was lovely. The kids chicken and burgers were great (plus they had paper on the table which entertained our children) and they had great fish tacos

Yelp
Best menu in the area. Great servers. It is a sit down location so relax and enjoy a drink as the food is prepared to perfection.

Yelp
We travel a lot and Old Barn has the absolute best burger. Their cheese curds are better than State Fair, and in MN that's really high praise. The fresh grilled chicken on the salads is also great. We always stop here if we are in town.

Yelp
Nice, clean & spacious sites. Lots to do and stay entertained. Tubing was fun and relaxing one of my favorite places to rv and tent camp

Yelp
Great campground, clean bathrooms, friendly service. While this place is more expensive than your typical DNR campground - it is well worth it. There is a gentle flowing (Root) river around the campground where you can float on a hot summer day for about 1.5 hours and get in and out right around the campground or go tongue floating to Lanesboro, there is a restaurant onsite if you want to upgrade from your campfire, the check in process is easy and it's quiet, well maintained and easy to find. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Campground: My family went camping here this past weekend in a fish house and two tents. We were able to get 3 sites right in a row that offered water and electric for the fish house. 7 adults, 2 children, and 2 dogs made for a full house! We really enjoyed our stay and having the golf course, playground and swimming pool was great! The river is right there for tubing, however we did not this time around. We wandered into Preston and Lanesboro for shopping, lunch, and an ice cream treat. The campground was especially clean and the restrooms were kept up very nicely. By far the cleanest campground I have ever stayed at. It was quiet and everyone was very respectful. Highly recommend the campground to other families. (Don't recommend if you are looking for a party weekend) Restaurant: I got a couple orders of fries and pretzel bites for an appetizer one evening while we cooked dinner. I was not impressed with the fries at all - very tasteless and cardboard-like. The pretzel bites were delicious, just wish we got a couple more!

Yelp
What a great place for camping! We had G1 & F1 tent, no electricity campsites reserved for our annual family camping trip! I feel like this was probably the best site in the campground for our family because it was tucked away in it's own section. The bathroom facilities were very modern and clean and you can pay $.25 for a 7 minute hot shower. There is a great biking trail that goes through the surrounding cities. I'm told that the bike trail goes for 50+ miles. There are also great fishing spots along the trail which follows the river too! There's a nice restaurant that serves food and liquor. I was only there briefly because I needed wifi for work (boo). Great service. There's also a nice indoor swimming pool next to the restaurant. The kids in our group loved that, especially since it was cold outside but they were still able to enjoy swimming. We were also able to play volleyball at their outdoor sand court! Overall great amenities, great facilities, and great staff! Our family had a great time here! Thanks!

Yelp
Always a little Leary about privately owned campgrounds, but this was a great experience! Beautiful campgrounds, nice restaurant, lots of amenities. Right on the Root River Bike Trail so easy to get to small towns in the area. River float is a MUST (although they could put up flags at the exit points). Golf course on site. We will definitely return next year!

Yelp
Second time here ( only because good friends are based here). $50/ night? No WiFi, no cable? A mile down a dusty gravel road, no pull throughs (must drop trailer in gravel parking lot) for our 66 ft rig. Staff pleasant, but never again. Poor value for the $$$

Yelp
This is a really neat place. There are camping spaces and a restaurant out in a very beautiful and scenic spot in Southern MN. There is a fabulous bike trail that you can spend most your day on and you can rent bike here for that if you didn't bring your own. They also have a big swimming pool if you are camping here. The restaurant is just basic but it is nice--they serve your typical burgers & sandwiches so it is not a fancy place. If trout fishing is your thing there are streams where you can go and try your luck or run on into the little quaint town of Lanesboro and check out a gift shop or winery there. Nice little getaway destination that you can enjoy with the family or as a little laid-back romantic rustic getaway for you and your someone. .

Yelp
Filthy bird nests and associated droppings outside. Flies inside, with bird droppings smeared on outside of windows. Only one waitress. Slow service, forgot to bring drinks and later part of our order. Not sure how other reviews are so positive, but our family will never go back to this place.

Yelp
This is a resort with spots for tent or trailer camping, but there is also a hostel in the bottom of the barn, with a few bunk rooms and one private room with two twin beds. The indoor lodging leaves much to be desired - very hard beds, bare bones blankets, a old, musty smell, it's loud until late at night and early in the morning due to the going ons upstairs, the girls bathroom is always flooded. The communal tv gets one channel - whatever they're watching in the bar upstairs. But aside from the hostel part, we LOVE this place! It has a large indoor pool (no hot tub) a beautiful golf course, a bar/restaurant, a small playground, and it's right on the bike trail. It's SO beautiful and scenic! The staff are very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this place, even though the indoor lodging is not for the faint of heart.

Yelp
We biked here on the root river trail and stopped by for lunch. The food, service and atmosphere are all excellent. The pork and slaw on flatbread was delicious and fresh tasting. Very good fries too. The old barn is so beautifullr restored and well maintained. Will return and camp here as the campground looks excellent.

Yelp
We played the front 9 of the golf course in early August. The back 9 was flooded so we weren't able to play it this time. The course was in pretty good shape considering all the rain and we really enjoyed the views. We will definitely play here again next time we are in the area.

Yelp
Super friendly staff (after the ownership has changed) absolutely coming out here. Great atmosphere. Great food!

Yelp
Decent food but they charge you a convenience fee of 3% to use a credit card. NOT cool

Yelp
Great Weekend Get-A-Way for the Bluff Country. They have a Hostel, Restaurant, Bar, Campground, 18 hole golf course, driving range, bike trail and a trout stream all on-site. I go there for a weekend every May for a "Mantrip" with a group of friends and neighbors, and always have a good time golfing, fishing and good campfire. It has great scenery, and is close to Lanesboro & Preston. The Root River Bike Trail runs right by the Old Barn. The Hostel has bunkroom style rooms perfect for large groups. I have run into many different types of groups over the years in the Hostel: Hunters, Bikers, Fisherman - even a ladies scrapbook club. Go! You will find something fun to do, I promise.
