This is why Taiwan is a cycling paradise - SilverKris

"Centered on a historic 2.17 km railway tunnel in Fulong built in 1924 during Japanese rule, this route combines old-time charm and excellent photo opportunities with noticeably cooler temperatures inside the tunnel. The full cycling itinerary around the area is about 20 km and typically takes three to five hours; the tunnel entrance is roughly a 10-minute bike ride from Fulong station, which is the usual rail access point." - Isabel Ong

The tunnel is very comfortable for riding a bike. It is built on a mountain slope facing the Pacific, which makes the ride easy but not very challenging. Inside the tunnel, there is always a steady, comfortable wind blowing, and it’s wide enough for 2 e-scooters to pass each other — even wide enough for an ambulance to get through. It seems the tunnel has been approved for emergency vehicles as well. Overall, it’s a lovely riding experience.

This was a 1st time experience cycling inside the tunnel I really enjoyed it and the tunnel stretches over 2 km with no partition or any sky view, at the end we can see the sea shore

Great place for bikers. The tunnel is very very long - flat route inside. The bike rent is very reasonable for the price and time of use. Worth it! Scenic view outside the end of the tunnel. It was pouring hard when we visited, but still had fun!

A lovely biking on a good day. It takes about a slow 3 hours to cycle the recommended route. A lot of stops along the way to explore the fishing villages as well as take in the sights. Good thing there are is a dedicated.lane for cyclists. The speeding trucks and lorries tend to disrupt the serenity of the route.

Great experience for bike or walking (only bikes on weekends). Takes about 10 min on bike each way and seems slightly downward include front this north end of tunnel. Bike rental shops nearby as are bathrooms, resting areas, and passing trains. Small free parking lot, also short ride to/from Fulong Station.

Great experience and activity to for whole family. The use of electronic bicycles makes it super easy and fun. Will take you between 2-3 hours. It's 21km along the coast.

A great place for a bike ride on a hot day. The entrance is a short bike ride from the center of Fulong.
