Old City Hostel

I've been here maybe 10 times before 2019. But Things have really fallen apart since the last three years... the service is done by tiktok generation so they don't care about service! all the time on their cell phone. they forget the keys. they lock you out. They blame you for leaving your luggage which is normal after after you leave for just a few hours avoid coming to this place until it's fixed they gave me the coldest rooms available. there is a war going on we can go to other countries and get better service... I tried to contact the owner twice through customer service and so-called administrator oleh. Or fake receptionist did not give me that number of course.

I had a nice stay at Old City Hostel. My room was fine, if a little small. The bathrooms are nice and clean. The common area is nicely equipped. By a European standard, it's all very average, but I think in Lviv it's one of the better hostels. The people who work there certainly are great and the cleaning staff keep the place very tidy. The location is also impossible to beat. You're right between the oldest part of the city and a hip area just outside of it. It's a pretty social place, but not a party hostel, which I like. Also, you're also a couple blocks from the opera house. I will say I would have appreciated slightly larger lockers. Likewise, I wish they were the kind of lockers where I can use my own padlock. I don't trust hostels whose lockers have a guy they give me. Nevertheless, I had a great stay. I would totally stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

Nice room, great view from window, clean bathrooms, will hold your luggage for you safely if you arrive too early or have a late departure. Friendly staff. Free wifi.||||I arrived very early by train from Poland, I think the hostel was technically closed, I hadn't realised this, and woke the receptionist up, but they were very kind and let me freshen up, and drop my bag off. ||||No shoes inside the hostel, but they have a good selection of slippers for you to wear :)

Great place, very friendly ambience and staff. Washing machine and kitchen available. The location is just first class! You walk out of the building and you're in the middle of the city center. The staff let us leave our whole luggage for the whole day after checkout, which took the heavy responsibility of looking after it while sightseeing off our shoulders. Definitely recommended!

Location of the hostel couldn't be better. Everything is within walking distance.|Girls at reception are very helpful and have good knowledge of the city. Manager of the hostel, on the other hand, seemed she does the job just for sake of doing something, no smile on her face, no engagement with guests, no help whatsoever. |Vibe of the hostel depends on the crowd I guess, but we really had good time chatting, laughing and story sharing with fellow travelers.|Beds are comfortable but top bunks are missing a shelf, where you could put your stuff in the night. Kitchen needs to be equipped with more pots and pans. Only two pots and one pan is absolutely not enough. Toilets and bathrooms were ok. Would go back.

The hosts are very good English speakers, the rooms are very comfortable even though they might be narrow. The lounge and kitchen are very nice with everything you need. The bathrooms are clean! Lots of equipment (iron, hair dryer, washing and drying machine, fridge, cook, boiler).

Pro: Good kitchen with decent wifi. High enough up with mosquito nets so there's minimal bugs. Friendly staff, keys so you can come & go as you please. Fridge for use and second fridge for buying things from them. Bathrooms are big, showers always had hot water, laundry was cheap (took about a day to dry), and the location is amazing. Con: A/C is in the kitchen, leaked while I was there so we could only use it 10 min or so a day. Keep everything you buy in bags when you put it in the fridge or the various hostel mates will steal it (parfait, 3 drinks, chocolate, bread, cheese, and some pepperoni in my case).

Convenient location. No one even cleans the common areas-kitchen, toilet and shower: almost no trash can be taken out or rarely done. Therr are three knives in the kitchen , but all are so obtuse that they cannot be cut. There are no hooks near the washbasin , they are just in the hallway, but not where convenient
