Just walked in before we went back to our hotel in San Juan. Entrance fee is P30, great place to have toilet break, refreshments or buy souvenirs. There were few crowds when we arrived. The Balete Tree was truly majestic and big. We did not attempt to try the fish foot spa due to hygiene issues. Parking available.

I thought that I would just end up staying here for a few minutes but I ended up staying here for over an hour. While the area is relatively small it's incredibly relaxing and there's just something so alluring about the tree. Of course there were plenty of people putting their feet in the water and having them nibbled on by the fish, I have to say at first it's a little difficult to get used to but after a couple minutes it's actually quite relaxing. There are many shops outside for snacks and drinks and basic stuff. The area is also incredibly well shaded making it a great place to relax and escape some of the heat. This is absolutely on the top of the things to do at siquijor.

A place to visit if you’re passing. 20 Peso entry per person to see the tree which is quite cool. There is also a fish spa but we didn’t try it due to the hygiene of fish spas. They unfortunately also had some dogs in small cages and blocked a lot of the fish from swimming freely in the water. Overall the tree and all its history is cool but the rest feels a bit unnecessary.

This stop is perfect if you want a blend of nature, culture, and a quirky spa experience all rolled into one. It’s easy to include in a larger tour around Siquijor—just maybe visit on a weekday or early in the day to soak in the magic in peace. I’d say it’s a solid 4/5 experience—a delightful blend of enchantment without breaking the budget. Experience Aspect Rating (out of 5) Highlights Atmosphere & Mystique ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Ancient aura, folklore, photogenic natural setting Uniqueness & Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Fish spa, spiritual lore, serene immersion Value for Money ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Minimal fee, quirky extras like souvenirs & dining Crowds & Comfort ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Can feel busy; limited space around pool

passed by today & decided to stop in. 20₽ entry fee pp. you can sit by the pool & the fish will nibble at your feet (if that tickles your fancy, i wasn’t too into it). the tree itself was beautiful! just beware there are lots of tourists here & the queue to take a picture by the tree was very long! there’s a gift shop here & restaurant as well

The place was great! It's only 20php to enter the pond area. There's plenty of souvenir shops filled with local and mystical goods. There's also a load/wi-fi machine and a decent restaurant upstairs with some really creamy shakes. There's something heavy-of-nature in the air while being in the tree's presence. Highly recommended.

The Enchanted Balete Tree is one of Siquijor’s most iconic and mystical landmarks. Towering at around 400 years old, this massive Balete tree stands as a silent witness to local folklore and island legends. Many locals believe the tree is enchanted or spiritual, often associated with healing, mystery, and ancestral spirits. Whether or not you believe in the stories, there's no denying the tree’s eerie beauty and majestic presence. Located along the highway in Lazi, this Balete tree is not just a tree—it’s an experience. 🐟 The Fish Spa Experience Included in the ₱30 entrance fee (it used to be ₱20 the previous year), the fish spa beneath the Balete tree adds a unique twist to your visit. The natural spring water from the base of the tree feeds a small man-made pool where fish of different sizes swim freely and nibble at your feet. Ticklish but fun! 😄 The sensation can be surprising at first—especially when larger fish take interest—but it’s something you’ll laugh about with friends or family. It’s a quirky, relaxing experience and totally worth trying, especially if it’s your first time. Size of the area: The fish spa area isn't very large, but when we arrived, there weren’t too many tourists, so we didn’t have to wait or squeeze in. It made the experience more chill and enjoyable. One thing to note: there’s no designated washing area for your feet before or after dipping them in the water, which might raise concerns about hygiene. We're not exactly sure if the water is continuously flowing, so that's something to keep in mind. Hopefully, the water is kept clean since the fish live there, but still, it would be nice if they added some sort of rinsing area for better sanitation. The area surrounding the Balete Tree also offers a chance to pick up souvenirs. You’ll find small shops located below Baletebistro and beside the tree’s entrance, selling everything from local crafts to keychains and magnets. Also, since the Balete Tree and fish spa are on private property, they have a clear sign posted that says “Please do not feed the fish inside”—and it’s something we should all respect. Feeding them can affect the balance of the water and the health of the fish.
