Old Enchanted Balete Tree

My experience here was amazing! Entrance fee is only ₱20, so definitely worth it. The fishes are surprisingly big — you can really feel them during the fish spa, like they’ve been “sucking feet for years” 😂. It’s a unique and relaxing stop, and a must-visit when you’re in Siquijor.

This was a nice pit stop to visit. If you're allergic to mosquito bites, make sure you put some bug spray/lotion or have something for mosquito repellent before you go here. If you're ticklish this the fish spa might not be for you. It was a nice experience altogether.

Cool stop with history and fish spa The Old Enchanted Balete Tree is worth a quick visit if you’re touring Siquijor. The tree itself is massive and impressive, said to be over 400 years old, and the roots create a unique setting. There’s a natural spring at the base where you can dip your feet for a fish spa—fun and refreshing after a hot day. Small stalls nearby sell souvenirs and snacks, making it an easy stop. Not a long visit, but definitely one of those “must‑see” landmarks on the island.

Just walked in before we went back to our hotel in San Juan. Entrance fee is P30, great place to have toilet break, refreshments or buy souvenirs. There were few crowds when we arrived. The Balete Tree was truly majestic and big. We did not attempt to try the fish foot spa due to hygiene issues. Parking available.

A decent little stop while driving around the island. The entry is only 20 PHP plus 5 PHP for parking, so it’s very budget-friendly. It is basically just the one massive tree with a small pool at the base. Sitting on the edge and letting the fish eat the dead skin off your feet is a fun experience, it’s very ticklish and feels quite good! Aside from the fish spa and the tree itself, there isn't much else to do here, but for the price, it's worth a 15-minute break.

The tree is amazing. It is a very old tree and it's huge. Beneath the tree there is a man-made pond with fish that eats your feet dead skin. The visit is cute and not a must see. There is an entrance fee

I thought that I would just end up staying here for a few minutes but I ended up staying here for over an hour. While the area is relatively small it's incredibly relaxing and there's just something so alluring about the tree. Of course there were plenty of people putting their feet in the water and having them nibbled on by the fish, I have to say at first it's a little difficult to get used to but after a couple minutes it's actually quite relaxing. There are many shops outside for snacks and drinks and basic stuff. The area is also incredibly well shaded making it a great place to relax and escape some of the heat. This is absolutely on the top of the things to do at siquijor.

I only made a quick stop here while riding my motorbike. Parking for motorbikes costs 5 PHP, and there is also an entrance fee to go inside. From the street, the Balete Tree already looks very impressive and interesting. However, when I arrived it was quite crowded, and with multiple small fees involved, I decided not to explore further. My recommendation: stop by briefly, take a look from the outside, and then decide on the spot if you want to enter and explore the area in more detail.
