Old Evora Hostel

I give a 5 star review based on my experience during a one night stay at Old Evora hostel. It was good value for money and the hostel is well located. The staff were friendly, and also accommodating about luggage in advance of check in and after check out. The kitchen, bathrooms and building were clean. The free locker in the bedroom (key provided) was very useful to have. It was a nice hostel experience.

We met an old Pilgrim hiker; he has been walking for the past 25 years through Europe, Africa, SW Asia, and Central and South America. In offering him a night in the Old Evora Hostel, we were on the receiving end of our gift. A roof, bed, shower, and laundry were all available at the hostel. When we arrived, we met Mafalda at the reception desk. She was invaluable, giving us all a tour and assuring the Pilgrim that food left behind by others was available in the fridge. She showed our new friend genuine kindness and consideration. He expressed his gratitude to all of us, though Mafalda’s kindness multiplied our small generosity many times. The joyful and engaging fellow Pilgrim was living his life by choice. Mafalda was gracious in her assistance and took the time to treat the Pilgrim with respect and compassion. We have a lifetime memory of her and the Pilgrim sharing the dignity of each other’s presence. Thank you, Mafalda, for an uplifting moment from your good nature and kind spirit. You are one of a kind and will be remembered.

There are too much good things to review about my stay. Firstly, the cheerful and excellent service from the front desk. She went out of her way to make sure I had a good bed to rest. Kudos to her for doing what she can to make sure guests are comfortable. Super clean bathrooms, kitchen and the bed is so comfortable I had my best sleep for my travelling month. Well equipped kitchen to do cooking and a sumptuous breakfast to start your day. Lots of spaces for you to hang out and relax. Excellent location to everything you can see in Evora and just a few minutes walk to the bus terminal. Perfect in every way. Thanks to the hostel team. It's been my pleasure staying with you girls.

Good place to stay short time trips. Bunk beds are good. I stayed there one night only. According to price, it's fine actually.

Such a fantastic hostel! I stayed in a female dorm for three nights. The location is perfect to see all the sites within èvora. The hostel is super clean with amazingly helpful and kind staff. Everyone who was staying here was very friendly , but it was mostly an older crowd. The hostel is really cute as well, I feel like most of the pictures online don’t do it justice! I felt super safe and comfortable my entire stay. Bed was comfy with a convenient outlet and locker. The dorm room door did not have a lock but that was totally ok cuz it felt super safe. Also the bathrooms are mixed but that was not at all a problem because they are super clean and spacious. The window in the dorm had this amazing shutter thing on it that kept the room super dark and made it super great to sleep in ;)

The location is great, you can basically walk to anywhere from the hostel. The owner is an amazing woman! She’s cheerful, helpful and very friendly.

Racist and intimidating attitudes. Although initially friendly and friendly, the owners take on a very threatening and very aggressive attitude at unpredictable moments and for no apparent reason. Stay away.

Old Evora Hostel was the perfect place! The owner was lovely! She was incredibly accommodating and happy to help in anyway she could. She made sure everyone had enough for breakfast and was always accessible. The beds and rooms are incredibly clean as well as the bathrooms. This is a great place for families, friends, couples and solo travelers. My friend and I really enjoyed our stay!
