During our July 2025 Yellowstone trip, the Old Faithful Basin Store was a nice surprise. Built in 1897 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this charming spot next to Old Faithful Inn has a nostalgic atmosphere that’s worth experiencing.
We stopped for lunch and ordered hamburgers. Our bison and elk burgers were juicy and unique, served promptly by our friendly waitress who chatted with us about the park. The staff’s warmth made our visit memorable.
The gift shop offered lots of unique souvenirs. We purchased a few souvenirs here, but the prices definitely reflect the remoteness of the store. The store was crowded, due to it being peak season, and lines for the lunch counter were long but manageable as we browsed souvenirs.
While the food menu isn’t extensive, the quality and cozy dining area make it well worth the visit. For a quick, tasty meal and a dose of Yellowstone history, this store is a must-visit. I will be back for their tasty food and warm friendly staff.
