Excellent atmosphere for a whisky bar (Great playlist that fits the vibe). Skilled bartenders and dynamic menu. Ao was an excellent bartender, host, and guide through the menu.

Cozy, calm, classy and not overcrowded place. Cocktails looks great and tastes even beter. Bartenders are friendly and nice. Worth visiting.

Really nice "small" (actually a good thing)bar kinda hidden in Barcelona but with very good service (shout-out to Alejandro-pictured- and Mathias)with a big cocktail selection. If you ever visit it and feel overwhelmed by the huge selection they have available just ask and they will give you best recommendation.

I tried every single old fashion here, loved them all. Any thing, food, drinks or cocktails that the staff recommend, exceeds expectations. We came 3 nights in a row, great experience for all of them. Honestly when I think back of our Barcelona trip, this place is what comes to mind. Alejandro, iyedr, Ao and Matias made this place a second home. I highly recommend, you will not go wrong coming here.

If I can give it more than 5 stars, I would! Honestly all the bartenders have given my fiancé and I such a great experience with sharing their stories, their knowledge of the drinks and giving us the best time here in Barcelona! We tried all the old fashioned drinks and all of them are very unique in their own way. My fiancé really enjoyed their Al Capone special and as for me, the Macarena cocktail was my fav! The atmosphere is amazing and safe for anyone who comes through their doors. Perfect for a couple or group night out!

How to summarize my feelings about Old Fashioned? Bruno and his crew know how to deliver a truly top-notch experience. No tricks, no gimmicks, just outstanding cocktails, classic, stylish decor, and friendly, attentive service in several languages. This has been a favorite spot of mine and many of my friends for at least three years now. I have been privileged to be served by stellar cocktail craftsmen and women in many countries, including many bars on the "Top 50" list. Old Fashioned can stand with the best of them. I bring every single out-of-town visitor who turns up on my doorstep to Old Fashioned and they leave with their socks knocked off. You will do yourself a great disservice if you skip the Old Fashioned experience. Any serious fan of creative craft cocktails must make their way here.

The drinks here are true masterpieces. Watching Idra craft cocktails, blending endless flavor possibilities with top-tier liquors, is an exciting experience. A wonderful experience at a great cocktail bar! We had a couple different drinks each and loved all of them--in particular, I loved the Casper old fashioned. It came with cheese! What a thrill! It was a very cozy little place with great service and incredible bartenders. I would return for sure, but it's definitely more of a special occasion/treat kind of place than a regular spot.

Andrea was the bartender and he made us truly one of the coolest drinks we've ever had (The Brunch in Thailand). This was fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening Bruno is a tremendous bartender and every drink was incredible. I don't usually drink old fashions but when they are this good, you drink whatever Bruno tells you to. Every person in our group had different tastes and Bruno was able to take a lead from each person and customize a cocktail just for them. To say we had fun was an understatement. I would highly recommend this bar to travelers looking for a cozy environment. We went early and had the bar to ourselves except for two other wonderful gentlemen who are now good friends. We may need to come back on this trip!

If you enjoy Bourbon neat or in cocktails you should come here. Eric is a master Bartender and will quickly dial you into a cocktail you will enjoy. Small place has that speakeasy feel to it did not expect to find in Barcelona. From America you will be blown away. Enjoy. Great place.

Simply amazing. Well done cocktail lounge with all the intricacies that speak easy places have with their drinks. I had their Bloody Mary which was more sweet than spicy. It was the sweetest bloody mary I have ever had, but was great. Also asked for a smoky and spicy drink which fit the bill!! Take a look at the photos for the presentation of that drink. They have light fare food which is quite nice as well. Enjoy one of their drinks and I would be surprised if you were disappointed!!

If you truly want to feel like you're going back in time and desire EXCEPTIONAL cocktails, first class service, complete attentiveness - and have a full selection of themed drinks that are to die for - or regular classics, I could not recommend any other establishment more. Well over the top! We were treated with warmth - at the very time we entered this super cute, cozy establishment. Old Fashioned - we will never forget you! Don't question about heading here. You wont regret it! The bartenders are 1000% on point!

Astonishing small bar, random discovery while wondering the city at night after dinner. While they have a pretty impressive cocktail and liquor selection (some are extremely rare), you should just trust one of the two bartenders that happen to also be the owners to craft you a drink based on your tastes or profile.

Cocktails were absolutely amazing and the bartender put in so much work into making each one! The people there are so nice and would I would definitely be back in a heartbeat!

Based on 4 visits (3 during the most recent Barcelona trip). We never go back to bars that many times. So, the fact we came here so many times is meaningful. We passed up the chance to hit top 50/100 bars in the world for multiple times in order to come back here. As the many reviews mention...very small. Loud when full. Not super comfortable seating. Mixed crowd of locals and ex-pats. Extensive cocktail menu but they are definitely famous for their gin & tonics as well as creative drinks in funky vessels. We found the bartenders to be very friendly for as busy as they are. 3 times, I've had their blue-cheese G&T, made with roquefort cheese-infused gin. A-maz-ing. Tried an actual Old Fashioned one night and it was good--but not awesome like the blue cheese G&T. Based on the bar and the neighborhood, I highly recommend a stop here when you're in Barcelona. It's memorable and enjoyable.

AMAZING bartending here! Seriously, this little place blew us away. I would go as far to say this is the best cocktail bar I've ever been to. Atmosphere is relaxed and sexy, the bartenders wear suspenders and the music is great. The drinks were wonderful start to finish.

FYI- completely closed on Sundays during winter season. I suggest calling ahead. Great bar next door called Nola worth checking out.

Where do I even begin? I searched "Best Cocktail Bars" in/around Barcelona, and Old Fashioned popped up first - and deservingly so. It's a total ex-pat bar, so don't come here looking for a "local Barcelona vibe" but definitely come here if you like great cocktails (especially whiskey)! Seriously, this may be my favorite bar in Barcelona. Now, on to the drinks. The drinks are insane. They are hand crafted and absolutely amazing. Every drink is so unique, including the glassware. You need to make sure you get a seat at the bar, or at least watch as your drink is being carefully made. The drinks aren't too strong, so you can definitely stay awhile and sample one of many. I opted for the Japanese Democracy, which I immediately enjoyed because of the soft sweetness. Next up, the Femme Fatal - equally yum. I rounded out with a coconut milk drink that came in an actual glass shaped milk carton. The attention to detail is so awesome! They have something for everyone in their extensively fun menu. The bar is small and intimate, so don't plan to come here with a large group, but just plan to come here when you're in Barcelona, because it's easily one of the top bars in the city.

One of my favorite bars in Barcelona. The ambiance, drinks + bartender are 10/10. It's a fairly small bar that fits about 25 people max. The bartenders are all dressed up and look absolutely dapper. We were greeted warmly but told they didn't have a table. We decided to improvise and sit around the bar while we waited for a table. Within 5 minutes we were able to get a seat, and a server decided to take our orders. Drinks here are a bit pricier than most places, but once you see them and taste them you'll know why they're more expensive! We ordered two rounds of drinks which included: anything goes- a whiskey drink in a glass shaped like a cigar Old fashion - self explanatory Don't call me doll- a Fruity shisha infused vodka? Drink- 10/10 presentation and taste!!! Bill McCoy- another smokey drink with rum and a dried pineapple (so delicious and so pretty) Scotch egg- a spicy ? Drink I think! I can't find the other drinks we ordered but honestly have one that sounds yummy to you and then tell the server what you like drink wise + presentation wise and he'll deliver!

Best place to get a low-key drink in Barcelona. It is down a small alley that does not seem to get much traffic, and taxi drivers get lost trying to get you there. I recommend the L3 or L5 Metro to the Diagonal stop and then walking the rest. After checking out many bars over the past few years, this is the one that we return to. They have a nice selection of gins, scotches, bourbons and ryes, as well as a menu of house cocktails. They will suggest something based on your tastes, and I've had great luck doing that. The bartenders dress nicely and put on a good show. More importantly, the drinks are also exceptional. I don't speak much Spanish, but, if it is a deciding factor for you, rest assured that these guys speak good English (it's *great* when compared to my Spanish) It feels more like a neighborhood bar, but I have seen many tourists there as well. I'd suggest going in a small group (2-4) and sitting at the bar if you can. Seating is definitely limited. Two important notes: they don't take music requests and you must drink your drinks inside the bar.

Such a welcoming bar! Just enjoyed some drinks and met some friendly people from the Bay Area who moved to Barcelona. First off the drinks here are super tasty! Bruno knows how to fine tune a drink to your liking. Love the playlist during our time there and the drinks were on point.

This place is one of those places that you will never forget! From a very unique ambiance and service to the most amazing cocktails you will ever have. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. Sweet baby snoopy, why cant this place be in Miami? WHY? IT IS THE BEST! Of all the different restaurants/bars in the three cities I visited during my last trip to Europe, Old Fashioned was the only place I went to repeatedly because it was THAT GOOD! Now let me break down why OF is OFF THE CHAIN: Location - It's located in an awesome neighborhood and although the space isn't huge, they manage to comfortably accommodate a decent amount of people. Decor - It's an L-shape bar with shelves after shelves of bottles of goodness, very hip and clean. Presentation - These bartenders kill it when it comes to showing off their skills. No detail is spared when your drink lands in your hands and they are all instagram worthy. Taste - This right here is why OF is KING. I've been to my fair share of cocktail bars and the one thing I've noticed is that more often than not, the bartenders use and cocktail menus have the same flavor profile across the board so each drink might have one or two different ingredients but each drink pretty much tastes the same. That is not the case at Old Fashioned. Each drink is carefully constructed in a way to not taste like any other drink in the menu and, more importantly, they all taste so damn delicious. Price - They are around 11 euros each and that's very reasonable price when you see the level effort behind each drink. Bartenders - Some of the most friendly and talented people you'll ever meet work behind the bar here. You'll never find yourself thinking that the same drink you ordered with bartender 1 tastes better than the one you ordered with bartender 2 because the bartenders are trained well and make the drink the exact same way each and every time. I mean I really can't stress enough just how awesome this place is and if you don't believe me, book a one way to Barcelona because I promise you after a few drinks this place will have you saying, "I never want to leave!"

Awesome bar... we loved the drinks and bartenders are super nice!!!! We couldnt sleep because of the time change and were looking for a local bar to drink and have a chill time. This place was deffenitely it.

While in the Gracia neighborhood, my husband wanted to stop by this bar to try, yet again, another whiskey he's been thinking about purchasing. The bar is very small and dark, and all the bartenders are dressed in a very dapper manner, which I thought was a nice touch. Nice to see men dressed up like the guys in Peaky Blinders. Anyway, if you are a whiskey lover, this is definitely a must visit, as they have a very wide selection of whiskeys such as Blanton's. The drinks we ordered were very strong, but worth it.

Our favorite bar in Barcelona! We came on a Saturday night fairly early, and were able to get 2 seats at the bar. I'm a huge fan of bloody marys so I knew I had to try one of theirs! The bartender made it with mezcal (which I love) and added yuzu and truffle salt. DELICIOUS! BF is a huge fan of a good old fashioned, and since it's the name of the bar, how can you go wrong? He loved it! We decided to do a second round and we ordered 2 cocktails from their drink list (the names escape me now) but they were well made and potent! Service was incredibly helpful and friendly!

What a great find! A very small little pub style bar with lots and lots of whisky varieties. We were able to secure a seat right at the bar in front of the lead bartender. We watched a fantastic mixology show as we sipped on our drinks. The bartenders are absolutely amazing - tossing glasses and mixing cups, "bending" liquids as they poured, and creating works of art. We tried a couple drinks and they were both very satisfying visually and they were tasty. Definitely worth a visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here after stumbling upon it. The bartenders were extremely talented and a blast to watch as they concocted all kinds of crazy drinks. My hibiscus gin and tonic was very unique, my bf was very happy with his bulleit old fashioned. Be forewarned though, this place is a bit pricier in comparison to the rest of what we experience in Barcelona. I recognize that many of the drinks are unlike anything you would have somewhere else, but as you drink it you are crammed into a very small, poorly decorated bar...and don't let them talk you into going upstairs unless you like the creepy-attic-windowless thing.

Somehow one night my friends and I find this adorable bar. It's super quaint and cute, it was pretty crowded when we walked in but we happened to snag the last few seats. The bartenders were definitely helpful in point you in the right direction if you didn't know what you wanted based on what you have a taste for. I don't remember their names but I do know one was from Estonia and the other was from Croatia, they both were very helpful. Their signature drink with gin, passion fruit mojito, Japanese democracy we're all amazing though. Drinks and presentation of the drinks were spot on. Would go back if ever in Spain again.

This is one of the best cocktail bars I've ever been to. The service was outstanding! Our server took time to ask us what kind of cocktails we enjoy and suggested something that was perfect for each of us - even though there was 7 of us! My tequila bloody mary martini was heaven. Don't leave Barcelona without getting a drink here.

Go go to!! I was waiting for my boyfriend at an appointment he had so I got on YELP, and searched for bars. Well,,, I'm so glad this place popped up! I went & sat at the bar & had 2 old fashions & a great convo with other guests & the bartenders.. is very quaint & the ambiance is very nice. Oh & the music, yes the music was just right as well... the best old fashioned I've ever ever had.. do yourself a favour and go NOW!! I'll probably go again before we leave Barcelona and if not I'll be for sure going back when we return end of November. A great place, prices are good, staff is great! This bar was recommended by a local, while I was visiting last summer. The theme immediately pulled me in... it was a very intimate atmosphere that had me feeling like an old time gangster (with a unicorn drink)! I went during the week so it wasn't so busy and was waited on by the owner who gave me a run down on the history of the place, and immediately recommended what I will now always go back for - the unicorn gin! He recommended this to me, based on my preferences and he nailed it!!! It was purple, with glitter and had a cute, floating edible flower. Perfect! We loved it so much, that we decided to visit the very next day before continuing our journey to Germany! It was busier this day, so we got to see many more unique drinks being made at the bar and even got a chance to buy a bottle of their house made UNICORN gin so I could take back to my mom in the U.S! This is the coolest craft cocktail place for mind blowing refreshments on a hot summer day. 100% impressed with this hideout!

The one word that comes to mind is amazing. Our hotel bartender told us about this place to visit. We loved it!! Daniel was Very creative and knowledgeable. We ordered a few from the menu and some that he made up based on what liquor or flavors we were in the mood for. Definitely a must if visiting Barcelona.

My husband and I went here twice on a recent trip to Barcelona. The first time we got a seat right at the bar and we're able to watch the bartenders making drinks. They put on a mesmerizing show and the cocktails are some of the best we've ever had! Most of them were between 9€-12€ which is what we are used to paying in the US. I will also note that they were very friendly and attentive, which we had noticed wasn't typical in most of the restaurants and bars we'd been to on our trip.

When you witness a true craftsman at his craft, you can't be but impressed. Go here for the show that is making a cocktail. And enjoy your favourite spirit in a whole new way... Or old fashioned. Also nice chilled out music. Just you and your special someone.

Wish I had a photo of our tasty cocktails here! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this while staying in Gracia neighborhood. Drinks: Amazing. We got one that had sake and vodka which sounds wrong but it was so right. Ambiance: speakeasy feel with helpful waitstaff. Dimly lit with jazzy music and a relaxed vibe. It was the perfect place to start our night.

Cute bar. Nice/talkative bartenders. Came by myself because heard they make amazing bloody Mary's (it wasn't my taste but truly was a drink to try- very different!). Had another drink (can't recall the name) which was very tasty. Definitely get a seat at the bar so you can see the bartenders make their amazing drinks! Such an art!

This is a really fun bar. There are seats for maybe 30 or so. Huge selection of cocktails and they are pretty whimsical, like a Gin Fizz that was served in an egg in a box filled with tissue paper. The bartender here was cool too. It was cozy, I would go back again.

This place is small, styled like an old fashioned bar (duh) and has a large selection of gins. I tried the recommended Gin & tonic, which was with Nordes Gin and Fentimann's tonic. Like the other descriptions say, the bartender is dressed up. He was informative, welcoming to my tired family of four (2 teenage boys) and all I wanted was a good g&t near our rental in the De Gràcia area. This place fit the bill, excellent service, no attitude, lots of nice cold air conditioning, and very helpful with suggestions of what we were asking about. This place is hip, which for me means I expect a "we don't like families here, we're trying to be hip to the 20-30 year olds" but we did not get that, and we stayed for a half hour. Come here. My suggestion to them is: Get your hands on Blue Coat gin from Philadelphia.

What a fun little place with the best, most unique meticulously hand crafted drinks in the heart of Barcelona! Love that I can rely on yelp and fellow yelpers even on my European adventures. The ambiance was the perfect speak easy bar. The bartenders were so incredibly nice and helpful. We asked for tap water and he warned us that Barcelona's tap water is intolerable and brought us bottled tap water instead. I got the egg fizz which was amazing combination that included ginger beer and chilis. I love spicy drinks so I was such a fan. My friends drink was awesome too and at some point involved flames in the making. And of course while we were there we enjoyed the wonderful scene of watching the bartender make various drinks that were meticulously handcrafted and use various things like dry ice and fire. Overall awesome experience and great way to start our Barcelona trip!

You know that awesome feeling when you go to a cocktail bar before dinner and it's waaaay better than you thought so you end up hanging there past when the restaurants nearby are closed but it's cool because they'll find you food that they have an on hand even though it's not on the menu? The cutest little place for old fashioneds! Since traveling around Europe, I've been ordering OFs since that's my go-to drink and have been pretty disappointed in all of them so far, until Old Fashioned in Barcelona. This place is intimate with a really cool vibe. The place was packed on sat night and we all ordered OFs and a charcuterie board. I was VERY happy with the drink and the board. I'm here in Barcelona a few more days and am planning on going back before I leave...that's how much I liked it.

Visited this place twice last July 2017 when I was in Barcelona. When you open the door, it feels like you are transported into a different decade. The ambience is reminiscent of that old world charm. Overall, a great experience! Great music, large selection of drinks, and attentive bartenders.

Love this bar! My girlfriends and I stumbled upon this bar and I'm so glad we did! We had the pleasure of meeting Doni who is amazing! He made the best drinks I think I may have ever had! "Good things come in small packages" and the best bartenders are the ones who take the time to painstakingly mix an incredibly flavorful and potent cocktail that may be so smooth you'll think you're drinking soda. In the span of a few hours, or a couple of visits, they manage to instantly make you feel like a longtime regular. At Old Fashioned they achieve all this and more, valuing quality over space to deliver one of Barcelona's best cocktail finds in a casual and "old fashioned" setting. Come early or run the risk standing, Old Fashioned is fairly limited on the seating and is basically either a handful of stools along with bar, or some red leather couchettes along the wall. That being said, this is a great place to come and imbibe at the start of your evening, when the bartenders have time to talk, and share some of their cocktail savvy. The menu is broken up by drink and genre, and places emphasis on artisanal and difficult-to-find brands. For example, there are two entire pages of "Gin Tonic Our Style" which offers such delightful choices as the "Hendrick's," a Gin and Tonic with rose petals, cucumber, and Fever Tree tonic water (P.S. love that they use Fever Tree) and the "The Duke" with Juniper berry, lavender bitter, orange peel and 1724 tonic water. In addition, there is of course a page of "Old Fashioned" choices, which range from the more traditional to the more creative. Although it takes 5-6 minutes to prepare, I highly recommend the sweet Fashionista, a sensational combination of Wild Turkey, Pedro Jimenez, flambé hazelnuts, light brown sugar, nougat, and chocolate mole bitters. They've also got "Classics selection" and the "Classics Our Style," which tend to be twists on the standards such as the "Porto Flip" with Ysabel Regina, Oporto, egg, hazelnut syrup and nutmeg. The "Author Cocktails" are more whimsical, such as the smooth "Bowery" with Excellia tequilla, Jagermeister, Chartreuse, rosemary flambé, lime juice, and cinnamon syrup. It is always nice to see a bar where they not only value the classics, but also know how to modernize the drinks, and add some of their own flair as well. With such dangerously easy drinking concoctions, you may want to consider getting something to nibble on too. The cheese platter is a excellent choice, with several local cheese, crackers, and grapes serving as the perfect snack. Also, tourists may appreciate the free WiFi. Whether a local or a visitor, if you like cocktails be sure to include Old Fashioned on your list of stops. It is a great find in Barcelona!
