Old Foundry Hotel

Lovely stay! We were greeted by Emily at the reception and she was so sweet and welcoming. The hotel has such a nice, unique vibe, it feels like stepping back in time while still being modern. The location is perfect, just a few minutes’ walk to the Waterfront. The beds were super comfy and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! It’s not a buffet but more of a sit-down restaurant, and the coffee was amazing. Only downside is that the walls are a bit thin so you can hear some noises from your neighbors, and the room was a little small, but overall we loved our stay!

Was here for a work conference and really loved the spacious rooms. Great co-working spaces in the hotel, with strong WiFi and comfortable desks and chairs! The staff was exceptional and made us feel welcome and at home. Our host Tafadzwa was warm and friendly and made sure all our needs were met whilst staying here. Can highly recommend and will definitely be back .

When we arrived (earlier than we were suppose to) Carlo welcomed us and even offered us a cup of coffee while the ladies prepared our room. We felt welcome from the time we arrived up until we left. We would have stayed longer if only they weren't fully booked. Front desk were so friendly and went out of their way to assist with any request we had. We will definitely book again.

We stopped over at this hotel for just one night recently. It was an impromptu find that caught my eye whilst searching for a place to stay overnight. We were pleasantly surprised at the very unique design of the building and it's decor. Handsome was on reception when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. The room was full of unique features, we slept very well with comfort and peace. Having secure parking is an added bonus when you drive too. It's a fabulous location for access to many things in Cape Town. I really liked the shared working space outside the rooms too, had a nice vibe. Will definitely recommend to anyone who travels for leisure or business. Would definitely book again

What a fabulous place to stay! The staff were truly amazing, the friendliest we have ever come across, the concierge Carlos, the receptionist, the guy that served us breakfast and the late night security guy (sorry i dont know their names) did everything they could to make us feel special. The breakfast was superb and the room was clean and very comfortable. Just a 5 minute Uber from the waterfront which was very cheap. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place, thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

I had an exceptional stay at the Old Foundry Hotel in Cape Town. The ambiance of the hotel is charming and full of character, making it a truly unique experience. Unsurpassed service! This was an outstanding stay. Breakfast was fantastic every day. The waitstaff and housekeeping was superb. The front desk treated us so special. We almost felt like celebrities since they remembered our names and were so kind. The amenities are outstanding. The master suite bathtub was my favorite. We felt like we were staying in an apartment, but with the luxury of a hotel. We met the owner and managers and they were very kind, helpful and attentive. The location was perfect and we CANNOT wait to come back!!!

Let’s start straight with the cons of this place - Bijou Room - Repurposed multi tenant building (offices and hotels) - There is exposed plumbing … running water noises 24/7 , you won’t sleep - COCKROACHES galore - NOT worker friendly… there’s no plugs next to the desk - The hotel is a ghost warehouse after 19:00 , no reception and have to enter through weird places - The hotel is under a highway bridge - noisy and smells urine outside the hotel yard - They use an electric pump - noisy when someone flushes, showers or opens the sink ( they will only tell you this on arrival) - The milk was rotten - Do away with refilling a glass bottle with a rusty lead. Guests don’t even know what kind of milk is in there. Use milk pods instead! Even a cheap BNB (Motel) has milk pods - The whole room is carpet, Horrible smelling carpet ! If you have allergies or reactions, stay away. - I get the decor of the place but the furniture is outdated past “Oldish” look - Visible wear and tear everywhere - Breakfast starts at 7am , breakfast in the city should start at 6am. People have places to be and things to do. - The room size is pretty small which is not a problem but to make things worse they put a humongous TV by the bed. Literally can’t move around the bed If you can stomach the cons here are the Pros - Good location , like 20 minutes walk to V&A mall and the stadium - Breakfast is fair. - Uhm … that’s it! If the purpose of your trip is leisure or business - I WOULD NOT recommend If you can take the cons, like one night to be closer to the stadium for a game or something - shouldn’t hurt. Bring your own water!! Anyone who rated this place above 3 stars and above - 1. Are not well traveled to understand what they can get for that price point. 2. They are very nonchalant!
