Due to weather, our cruise excursion was cancelled. Instead, we found this museum on a map within walking distance of the cruise ship docks. We really enjoyed the written histories of each room and the British royalty that was entertained here during official visits to Tortola. Each room contains artifacts of different centuries of use by the British government as well as explanations of how the structure was impacted by hurricanes and other calamities. The grounds boast beautiful, lush tropical gardens with walking paths to explore. The main entrance does have a small gift shop with a limited selection of items. The main porch of the house offers beautiful views of the harbor and hills beyond. It is well worth the short walk to visit this piece of BVI history.
