I have been a life-long traveler and by far, Jaff House is the worst place I have ever stayed at. When I arrived in Tel Aviv late at night, I went to the address listed, but there are NO signs anywhere on the street. I dragged my heavy baggage around the nearby streets searching for the place for over an hour, and not ev en the neighbors knew where it was.||Finally on a whim, I took a chance and lugged by bags up a long outdooors flight of stairs, and asked someone there if it was Jaffa House. It was. A young guy asked my name, didn't even check my passport or anything, and pointed at a room door, telling me that the key was in it. Of course I was puzzled about the security there. ||When I arrived in the dirty room, I unpacked my bags and tried to find the air-conditioning remote or control. There was none in the room, and I was boiling hot! I went out to find the staff to ask for an air-con remote, but there was NO staff! The yoing guy was gone, too. It was weird, because I had just talked to him a minute before. There was nobody at the hotel reception desk either. Searching high and low, including on the balcony, the entire place was empty of hotel staff. So I started calling the Jaffa House phone number. I was feeling hot and dehydrated. But nobody picked up my 4 phone calls! Plus I had no idea where the hotel staff was. I waited for more than an hour, but nobody came. ||Like the guests below report, nobody picks up calls or Whatsapps from Jaffa House. It was burning hot at night by now, and I was feeling worse and worse.||I called my travel booker to help, and after multiple calls lasting into the early morning hours, the travel booker staff could NOT reach any Jaffa House staff either. Finally rhe Agoda staff told me I could leave the hotel , and that I could apply for a refund-- because there was no air-con, no hotel staff, and no phone pickup for hours.||I left and checked in to a completely different hotel. It was a relief. ||Apparently in the morning, there was no Jaffa House hotel staff at the front desk or anywhere else, either. My travel booker staff then officially requested a refund to Jaffa House on my behalf. ||Apparently the Jaffa House fought it even though they did not provide any of the normal hotel services to me-- like air-con -- and I did not get a refund. ||Worst place ever. Because of the dirty bathrooms alone, it should be closed. Avoid Jaffa House, even if the low price is attractive to you. You will probably never be able to find it because there are no signs for it, anyway.

This was really bad. The bar on the rooftop (big reason we selected this place) was closed. Bought some nibbles and drinks to enjoy on our own and got locked on the roof. Called and WhatsApped and got NO response! After about an hour we were able to crawl through a broken stained glass window. Went for coffee the next morning - it was instant but they didn’t have hot water 🙄 seriously?!? The place is in serious disrepair and probably why there is no longer a bar - wouldn’t pass a health inspection? We were in the superior room with balcony and struggled to even lock the door. No way to completely secure the room as the top lock on side door would not stay latched - kinda a problem for travelers… Asked (the night before and prior to being locked in roof) about them calling for a taxi in the morning and he told us we would have to pay him 30 shekels - again, seriously? For a phone call??? Highly discourage staying here. It has so much potential and an excellent location, but it was about as bad as we’ve stayed anywhere…

Location is 11/10. The old vintage and yet rather comfortable. Vibe is also an extra star. Beds are very good, the shower clean and with good water pressure. The breakfast is better selection than many top rated hotels, coffee is fresh and tasty. There are few quirks- like no night staff , or slightly noisy outside area but it is right in the heart of old Jaffa! The market and restaurants are literally downstairs.

By far the most friendly hostel I ever visited. ||It’s so Central in the flea market. It has all facilities including a good breakfast. ||Tel Aviv is not cheap by world standards about $45 Australian as I speak for a mixed dorm.if you are a precious 5 star traveler forget it. ||The place is earthy and old in an ancient building. ||Clean showers toilets great kitchen. ||The staff make it special as they can not do enough for you. ||I have traveled 50 years so I am the most experienced person to offer this recommendation. ||There are many cheaper places but for safety and homeliness you can’t bear it. ||Highly recommended

Some would call it 'with character', I call it shabby. The rooftop is quite pleasant. You can relax and take your drinks there, there is a kitchen with cutlery and plates that guests can use and a fridge. The air conditioning in my room worked well. The ceiling in my room was very high, it was wonderful. The walls are really thin, so you can hear everything going on in the corridors and it's a hostel so the groups of young people don't tend to keep quiet. I had a double room with a shared shower and the female shower was a long way away from my room which was super inconvenient. My room was clean, but everything was very old and shabby. The value for money of this accommodation is just terrible but I guess this is Tel Aviv for you... All in all, I was not at all happy with this accommodation and would not consider coming back.

This is no longer a hostel but a boutique hotel, right in the middle of Old Jaffa. Could be a little busy and noisy especially at night but we had the back end room that have been more quiet. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were nice.

Once a hostel, now a real boutique hotel, more chic than the more expensive neighbours (we went, its true) this is the only place to stay in Jaffa. No pool, but a rooftop bar the best vibe in TLV. Breakfast included, shakshuka heaven, the most relxed welcoming young team. Rooms have balconies, proper showers and toiletries, lovely bedlinen. All for 325 NIS.

We spent 3 nights at the Old Jaffa Hostel. Upon our arrival, we felt at ease. Everything is nice: our room, although a bit small was clean and fresh.||The common areas are extraordinary. The staff is incredibly friendly. All travelers are pleasant. Here we can stay at remaining discreet while opening up to people. Everyone lives his time as he wishes.||We did not hesitate to ask if we needed a service, and the staff always responds present.||We hope to return here as soon as possible.
