The Old Man and the Sea restaurant

As much as we would like to talk positively about this beautiful place, unfortunately we cannot. Setting and ambience is to die for. If you decide to go, try to get in at 7pm the latest, otherwise you’ll be staring at the darkness of the water (it gets dark early). Now let’s get to the food and service. Our waitress was a very slow and quiet, looks like still learning. We had to pull the words out of her mouth and it felt like interrogation. Food quality was mediocre at best and $22 for a small plate of tomato soup $25 for four shrimps didn’t help. Salad plate was chipped, silverware looked worn and cleanliness of it could be better as well. Bartender also needs some continuous education course, specially on how to make old fashion. It was my wife’s birthday and usually restaurants bring a small complimentary desert with a candle…. Well we got a wooden box with a receipt and a candle ;((((. So, if you’d like a really nice and romantic setting for few hundred dollars per hour that would be a place for you. But if you’d like a good dinner with it - look somewhere else.

This restaurant was beautiful and the service was fantastic. We were treated like royalty during our anniversary dinner. Couldnt be happier with our experience. The view was beautiful, the people were extraordinarily welcoming, etc etc etc I could go on for years about my wonderful experience- Truffle stuffed chicken and the land and sea dish were phenomenal

We stayed in the Potcho Potcho penthouse villa for our anniversary and the villa is insane! It looks exactly like it does on social media. It’s massive, clean, has 2 bathrooms, 1 shower and 3 tubs. The water in the pool is cool and refreshing so be aware of that. The hammocks are nice to relax. You can see the sunsets from the villa. Get in room floating breakfast in your pool which is very unique and a nice touch. ||The cons are only cons if you expected something different. There is no real beach. The restaurant is very small so almost everything will be done in your villa. Meals, massage's, drinks, etc. They do not have a ton of staff because the property is small. It would’ve been nice to have a dedicated butler for this penthouse and even the other. They probably could split one person between the two. ||Overall, it was exactly what we were expecting and the wow factor met expectations. The staff was very nice! You should do it at least once.

The bed was incredibly comfortable and the peaceful view from our villa was breathtaking. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind.||From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless. Joy was amazing to work with. She coordinated everything for us including transportation, dinner reservations, and a wonderful couples massage. Her attention to detail made our entire stay feel effortless.||Breakfast and lunch at the resort were both incredible. Cookie was so kind and welcoming and added a special touch to each meal with her warm personality and great service.||If you are looking for a quiet, romantic escape with exceptional service and unforgettable scenery, Aruba Ocean Villas is the perfect choice. We left feeling refreshed and deeply grateful for such a peaceful and memorable experience.

I have never before written a review, but I feel compelled to this time. We were looking for a place to celebrate our 1st anniversary, and we found it here. Mostly it was the exceptionally kind service, as well as the beautiful grounds, idyllic setting, and amazing food all done with the highest attention to detail which made me decide to write my first review. We arrived just before noon and they opened the bar a little early for us. After two delightful cocktails each, we could'nt say no to lunch. We already had a lovely table on the water, but we got moved to an over-water table for a fantastic lunch experience! The food was lovely and the scenery was picture-perfect. After lunch and yes, more cocktails, we were invited to lie down on the shaded beach beds. We felt completely unrushed and were pampered with comfort and kindness. If I had the means to create my own resort, this would be it. Thank you Yvonne, Jean-Marie, and Cookie! 12/10, would highly recommend!

Just wanted to tell you how amazing tonight was. Carlos was such a great driver…we really enjoyed him! Weldon was so kind and the food was fabulous! The atmosphere was my favorite of all time! Thank you for making us a reservation today! You added so much pleasure to our vacation!

A week before our stay, I received a phone call requesting to upgrade our villa free of charge. Our over the water bungalow was the perfect setting for celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. Dinner at the Old Man by the Sea was magical. The grounds are spectacular and the staff are fabulous. If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing get-a-way, look no further. This Aruban hidden gem is breathtaking.

If you’re black, think twice. It’s my birthday, so they sing Happy Birthday for the Caucasian ppl behind me, but tell me the person who does the guitar isn’t there-even though I can see him. Also, my soda and bread came out after I was done eating my food, even though I asked several times. He spend most of his time catering to everyone else that didn’t look like me. The hostess were nice, restaurant and views are beautiful, but I would’ve chosen a better place for my birthday had I known. Food was decent.
