This is a great pub right on the beach at Whitstable!! Always very busy because of where it is! We were lucky and got a seat inside, just before the lunchtime rush! We had the fish and chips as the fish is fresh from the harbour! There was a bit of a wait for lunch but it wasn't too long! There's real ale and plenty of other drinks to choose!! The food was hot and delicious as well!

It's very rare to find a pub in England built right on the coast, so I really was excited to stop in here. The food and the beer were phenomenal. I literally had the best beer I've ever had in my life here, and it was at no other pub in town or anywhere else I've ever been. Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter. Apparently the owner keeps it on tap here, and I think that is a great decision. All the staff were very friendly, they accommodated us when we arrived late by keeping the kitchen open for us. They do trivia night once a week here that seems like a good time. They have a patio out back that offers a great view of the setting Sun over the Thames Estuary. Parking would be an issue, there aren't many spots here. But I feel like a lot of people are within walking distance and the pub is right off of the waterfront trail. It was also a bit more expensive than other pubs, but I can understand that given it's fantastic location and good food.

Great old timey quirky pub with plenty of tap choice, great selection of top shelf liquor and BBQ food outside on the terrace literally at the top of the beach. Sounds of people enjoying themselves all around the massive seating area, waves lapping the beach 40 ft away and very friendly accommodating staff serving drinks to tables with hot & cold food. Will be returning.

Excellent pub on Whitstable beach serving local beers, wine, spirits, snacks and a great selection of delicious pub food such as the fish n chips with a pint of Bear Island pale ale 😋👌🏻 relax inside where there's seating, a bar area, friendly staff and not forgetting the outside area with plenty of tables on the beach to take it all in with amazing views after a stroll along the beach! BBQ's in the summer! Highly recommended to go grab a pint, eat some fresh food, meet with family & friends, enjoy some time in this famous pub with a great atmosphere 😃🍻

This pub offers a fantastic beer selection and a charming old sailors' pub vibe, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. What truly sets it apart is its stunning beachfront location, with plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy a drink while taking in the sea views. It's the perfect spot to spend a sunny afternoon and watch the sunset, making every visit a memorable experience. Whenever I'm in Whitstable, I always make sure to stop by.

The Old Neptune is a must see when in Whitstable! The cozy little pub is located right by the sea, with an amazing view of the Isle of Sheppey – especially at sunset. The staff are super friendly, and there’s often live music that really adds to the relaxed, welcoming vibe. Definitely one of my favorite spots in town!

Had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The relaxing atmosphere, with the option to sit both inside and outside, offers two distinct vibes. Facing the sea adds a dramatic touch to the meal. I particularly enjoyed the must-try oysters and appreciated the selection of local beers. A perfect spot to unwind!

Yes pub is located at an amazing location, just on the beach. However, they should think about all the plastic cups they serve, yes it’s easier but at least have reusable hard plastic cups that you can charge deposit for I don’t know 5£ and people will bring the glasses down… it’s a shame really because we were there and if it was windy all of the glasses from other tables would have energy in the sea. Also, the owners were extremely rude and confrontational. Maybe it was the heat but there’s no need to shout at your customers. Definitely won’t be coming back in a while, it’s a shame under a different management it could be a magical place.

Yelp
If you find yourself in Whitstable then a visit to this old Victorian pub, the Old Neptune, is a must. If you are lucky, and the weather is warm to hot, sitting outside is a bonus. Nothing better than a pint, or two, taking in the sea air. Service is quick, even though it was extremely busy, professional and very friendly. Nice choice of a variety of pub grub, delicious. Once again, reasonably quick taking into account the number of people sitting out on the decking. I can never understand people moaning about the time it takes to be served. Look around and see how busy it is. One thing that did astound me was how well behaved the seagulls are in Whitstable. Unlike Cornwall and Devon where you have to fight them off your chips. As I say, a definite visit if you are in Whitstable.

Yelp
The Old Neptune is a fairly stylish traditional pub on the modest Whitstable seafront that you can spot from about a mile away. When visiting Whitstable (which shouldn't occupy you for more than 2 hours), you should definitely drop by to have a pint or some solid pub grub (including less standard seafood options, of course) and have a sit either in the comely pub itself or in the extensive outside seating area, though the former is definitely more comfortable, The décor is rather pleasing indeed; the relics of the village's fishing history add to the atmosphere. Note that if you're going to sit outside, you'll have to drink your beer from a plastic cup. The range of lagers and real ales is certainly adequate, prices are average for this rather touristy area. During busy hours it might take you quite a while to be able to order a drink from the bar. The pub itself is in good shape, neat and tidy, the furniture has an appealingly "rustic" charm. Recommended for visitors to Whitstable!

Yelp
What a gem of a pub! You go in for your hen do -- grab a cider --- walk out with a mermaid painting straight off the wall from the owner. Thank you, Darren! A painting and a night I will never forget!! ...Though I already forget a little as after a few ciders and some lovely pints, the night was a bit hazy... But the pub was epic. Warm and cozy interior with great live music. And a casual yet inviting exterior to enjoy the sunset with your bevy right on the beach. Couldn't have been better. Thank you, Darren and Old Neptune crew! We recommend this pub to all!

Yelp
What a great old worldly seaside pub complete with old weathered floorboards that slope towards the sea to allow the water to flow out when storms pound the Northern Kent coastline because the Old Neptune sits on the beach outside the sea wall. Lovely picnic tables outside overlooking the sea where you can sit & soak up the sunshine & drink local Kent ales / lagers or ciders & enjoy some of the freshest fish & chips that come piled high. A definite must-do for any visit to Whitstable.

Yelp
Brilliant pub & so considerate to their neighbours on Island Wall where I stay. They allow dogs in - on a lead & serve great food & great music. Parking is a problem in summer

Yelp
A great place to grab some fish & chips and a few drinks while sitting on the beach. A lot of fun, and highly recommend to anyone in Whitstable / visiting Canterbury and the surrounding area. It's great!

Yelp
A lovely little old timey pub on the sea front. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and good prices. Lovely in the summer as you can sit on benches on the beach!

Yelp
A unique pub set on the pebbly beaches of Whitstable. With on-beach seating and original interior decor, the Neptune is a lovely place for a drink throughout the year. The pub has frequent events (bands etc) and a great bunch of regulars.

Yelp
This is only really a pub I visit in summer because it's very small inside and also if the weather's bad it's not somewhere you particularly want to trek to! It does come into its own when the weather's good though, with loads of benches on the beach, or you can just sit between the groynes. I love the fact that the dog can run around the beach whilst we have a couple of drinks. The service can be terrible - some of the staff don't seem to realise why they are there. Having said that, it's still worth a visit.

Yelp
We stopped by here on our way cycling to margate, we'd arrived just after they stopped serving food at 4pm on a friday afternoon. Which was a bit of a downer. The beer was nice and obviously well kept. Great views and nice interiors. I'd go back there again.
