Old Nyonya

February 2026 visit: I really wanted to try a Laksa and this was a very good first bowl. I loved the creamy soup base and the noodles. Several people in line when I arrived at the stall - everyone ordered at least 1 bowl of the $5 Laksa. So I did as well (lemming). Medium sized bowl for the $5. It was a good size to share between 2 adults with other food. I paid cash, but others paid by some digital payment with the QR code at the counter.

Delicious food! I came here to have the laksa but I saw at least three people in the queue ahead of me getting a laksa and a rendang chicken, so I took this as a sign that I ought to as well. Having now had both, I can say that the sign was appropriately interpreted and received.

Excellent Nyonya laksa with a rich, creamy base. The mild chili adds great depth, and the yong tau foo pairs perfectly with the broth. Highly recommended!

Reasonable food but rude staff. I asked for a $7 laska with yellow noodle. Firstly he misheard me and gave back $5 for change. I clarified. Then he served me with a bowl of rice noodle. I questioned again, the chef said my face looked like yellow noodle. The words were unexpected rude and disgusting.

got the wu fu laksa with thin beehoon. like their laksa gravy, its however on the diluted side and sweet (not spicy) their egg is very wholesome, fishcake super qq but the lobster ball (?) very salty. ok-ish bowl of laksa.

Although the market is quite touristy, this is a good place to get a Laksa, a more traditional dish. The portion is decently sized and they have several options. I only tried their most recommended and it was a great dinner. Service and atmosphere are the same as any other stall

The Royal Laksa was really good with a big slipper lobster and lots of fresh seafood. Very tasty broth too. Good price

Prawn is fresh. Lack of taste. Quite normal frankly speaking. Will not try again. Is like a tourist trap here.
