One of my all-time favourite distilleries to visit. My third visit overall - and I would visit again! The tours are very personal and super informative. The guides and staff are very friendly and knowledgable. Much much better than amy of the larger, highly commercialised distilleries/tours. And don‘t even get me started on the Whisky… 😄

Enjoyed the exclusive “from the source” tour which took us through an in depth history of Old Pulteney and their unique engineering of our favorite highland whisky.

We had a very nice and informative tour with Jane as our guide. Old Pulteney is a bit of a smaller distillery compared to some others you can find in Scotland but that made the tour, in our opinion, feel more authentic, less rushed and more genuine. If you wanted to taste any of their whiskeys (or gins) you didn't taste as part of the tour, that was no problem at all and you'd get some extra information. You also get the chance to see the warehouse which was very impressive.

Visited at 15.05.2024 Very nice Distillery Vicitor Center. Friendly People, with a really warm welcome! We tried several whiskeys, all with intense and varied smells and tastes. Also the whiskey liqueur is fantastic!

A different kind of experience to those commercial tour. We got to learned more about the processes and thanks to the detailed explanation from Tim and the team. We also got to taste the different kind of whiskey at the end of the tour and gifted a Glencairn glass each. Definitely worth the tour.

An amazing experience and I would highly recommend it! This is my 4th distillery tour and there's still so much to learn and of interest. Our guide Kathy was super friendly, kind and incredibly knowledgeable. We got the £15 tour which is an hour, plus you get two drams and a free tulip glass. Having said that, you can stay as long as you want after and ask as many questions as you want so we were there for 2hrs in total!

Big Shout out to Gordon who spent some time with myself and my Dad as we called in on our way to John O groat's . He was great, funny, and knowledgeable. He took the time to go through the different Whisky's on offer and explain the different processes. We had a quick walk around the visitors centre and was a little disappointed we didn't really have enough time to do the tour due to our travelling plans. Would highly recommend.

Enjoyed the tour when passing during the NC500… wouldn’t put it as a must do but if you have an hour or so and enjoy whiskey then add it to the list

Yelp
I really like this place, for 6 sterling pounds a person over 21years old, the cost of the tour includes a dram tasting of 12 year old whiskey and water. We received a bonus sample of the sweet liqueur and that was a nice touch. Our group was the only tour our guide had encountered on Tuesday, march 25. Our guide was very knowledgable and patient as this is our group's first whiskey distillery visit while in Scotland. During the tour we were told not to take any pictures while in the distillery facility and that if you are a tall person (over 6 ft tall) to mind your head. From malting of the barley to the aging cask room....our group had a chance to see production on a small scale. Lots of stairs so if you are looking for a wheelchair accessible tour...there might be parts of the tour the chair will not fit. We met a funny distillery worker named Chris and his accent sounded like an American one and not Scottish...very enthusiastic guy! At the end of tour we all had a taste of whiskey. The 12 year old aged whiskey was smooth, apple aroma with a little bit of spice, low peat flavor. I bought a bottle. The other sampler was a limitedly produced pulteney liqueur, the flavor was slightly sweet and not strong in alcohol. I also bought a bottle of this liqueur as well. Overall 4 stars because we didn't get our -2.50 pound discount on a purchase of a 70cl old pulteney whiskey bottle. Other than that, we really enjoyed the tour and ambience of a small whiskey company where every worker knew each other's names. :-) Visitor centre was nice to look at as well as the its store.
