The Old Mill and now (sadly) dark restaurant are both beautiful and mysterious--a real treat to be able to wander around and feel the vibes! And Jerry, the owner, was incredibly accommodating when our car broke down an hour away and we couldn't get back to check out properly on our second night. Really the most heart-warming, old-fashioned human charm, of the kind that is fast fading in this world of shiny superficiality. Check in and out were a breeze, clean and cozy modest room, great hot water, and a half a block to all the sweetness of historic Wilmington. Definitely a great place to stay for those who appreciate atmosphere and history.

We stayed here for two nights. This Inn is very rustic which we loved. Look up the history, it's amazing. The owners are selling; been in the family for 46 years! Wish I was younger and could afford to buy it. It has all the charm , location, and features to come alive again. Jerry is very nice and accommodating. We loved sitting at the tables, having coffee, chatting and looking out the windows at the view of creek and nature. If you are content with just the basics, you'll love it. Walking distance to stored and restaurants and short driving to SO many things to see and do.

Lovely inn with a beautiful foyer. Rooms are very small but functional. With some having a great view of the creek running past. The owners were very nice, called to see when we were checking in and left our keys for us for a late check in. They are also selling the inn, according to signs inside as of this review, so if you want to buy a lovely slice of Vermont take the opportunity.

My daughter and I love the Old Red Mill Inn! It’s the perfect base camp for no frills lodging for Mt. Snow trips. Less than 20 mins from the mountain and walking distance from shops and restaurants you can’t beat it and the price is right. James the owner is incredible and very helpful and friendly. Remember this is an old mill. The building has great character but the rooms are small , what you see is what you get. Don’t come here expecting a modern 5 star hotel or even a newish Double Tree feel. Great fireplace downstairs, board games to play. Coffee in the morning. This is the kinda place where your room key is thumbtacked to the door if you arrive late at night. We love it, but we’re a couple of ski bums!

I had a wonderful four-night stay at the Old Red Mill Inn. Something about this place made me instantly happy, maybe it was the owner Jerry who received us with the utmost warmth, or the ambiance of this hotel, with a deck overlooking the river. Please be aware, that this is a very old hotel. What worked for me is that I got the cozy atmosphere that I was looking for, pleasant owners always willing to make our stay comfortable, always willing to brew hot coffee, and the great location in Wilmington. This hotel is within the walking distance of all the restaurants and shops is sitting right on route 100. Within 5 miles is the Hogback mountain scenic overlook. The rooms are extremely small, the TV is very old maybe a 15inch screen (works well), the bathroom can only fit one at a time and the wi-fi was spotty. So, if you are looking for ultra-modern conveniences, you will be disappointed, but if you can look beyond all these, please do not miss out on this extremely charming hotel. This stay will always be a memorable one for me.

This place is a rare gem with incredibly kind hosts. It sits in the heart of town, less than a minute walk to an assortment of Vermont’s most awesome craft IPA’s and locally sourced legitimately fantastic food. The rooms at the inn are perfectly modest and clean. A direct shuttle to Mount Snow is steps away. A really great deal at the price! Couldn’t be more convenient. Can’t wait to go back.

Lovely historic place to stay, but owner called a day after we left to let us know they found something left in the room, wasn't ours, and told us our room was not properly cleaned before allowing us to stay in it. While they were friendly, it is definitely a concern in our current COVID19 times to not have a clean room & be told after the fact. Placed a reservation but they forgot about it upon arrival.

Owner of hotel called while we were eating – said since we wouldn’t be there until after 7:00 p.m., he would just leave our keys with instructions in an envelope by the front door. There were no instructions about how to get to rooms or if they were upstairs or where. It wasn’t very welcoming. When we found our room, it was more like a small dorm room at a college. Everything was dated. There were a lot of stains on the carpet which made it even less inviting. The bathroom was extremely small, although very clean. The shower was so small you couldn’t turn around in it (I’m not very large either). In the room, you could hear when the people in the next room were walking around (each step), and if they moved in bed, you could hear that as well. It was almost like having roommates! There wasn’t much to do after dark in Wilmington, so we tried to watch TV – it was a 13” TV with a broken remote. It was also plugged into the same socket as the light so that if you turned off the light switch, you turned off the TV. The light on the wall nearly fell off when I tried to turn it on one time. The worst part was that there was no one to welcome us at any time during our visit. It really was like staying in a dorm where you just came and went without anyone interested at all if you were having a good time. Sure, there was a number you could call if you needed anything, but no “welcome” feeling. The housekeeper was VERY nice. She was very accommodating and friendly. Although the bed was fairly comfortable, the linens were VERY old with “nobbies” on them. There were about 6 inches from the side of the bed to the wall – a little cramped on both sides. There was no breakfast – coffee (we don’t drink coffee) and ice were available, but nothing else. We ate at Dot’s – best part of our trip!! You might ask why we didn’t leave instead of staying for the two nights we had reservations – if you check out early, there are no refunds, so we didn’t want to lose our money. Ending statement – if you like dorm life, you’ll love this place!
