So not gonna lie thought it was just another burger place, I was totally wrong. The food tasted so good that I kept eating even when I was full. That churro shake was just right. The main person serving us made me feel like I went to my best friend's house for a bite to eat. If nothing else, a sign of a good food spot is would you go back and the answer is, we are bringing people when we do!

Absolutely delicious till the last bite! Cheeseburger was yummy, tater tots, and onions were also delicious. Great customer service!

It's a good non fast food burger joint. A little pricey. Burger does not come standard with fries and if you get one of the specialty fries, it will cost a lot more. Feel bad for the one lady working 3 tables including our large party. Good to experience at least once. Photos include large brisket fries and small truffle oil fries.

Service was good. New/young waitress was kind and prompt. Burgers were good but not great. Tots were over cooked.

Great mom and pop burger joint. Restroom and dining area was clean. We came in on a Friday night around 8 and was seated promptly. Burgers were made from good quality ingredients. Everything was good but you have to try their flan. It wasn't too overly sweet and didn't have an egg smell. It was delicious.

The size of the burger was good and the taste is ok. Was told that it was half a pound. I ordered the Bacon Avocado Burger, pepper jack cheese was sliced too thin I thought they missed it. I was also disappointed with the size of Parmesan fries (supposed to be large and you be the judge if you can find parmesan on the fries).

Not much atmosphere but good service. The burgers were good but there are definitely better options in town. The bun was a bit stale and the meat was a bit dry and not well seasoned. Got the plain fries and onion rings and neither was very good. Maybe the fries with toppings would be better. The chicken fajita taco was good but also dry. That all said, we will probably not return.

Omg, the best burgers we've tried in decades. I had the Bunrise Burger and my husband the Blue Star and the flavor, seasoning, fresh vegetables and delicious buns were a delightful surprise. This is a Wonderful Katy Gem. Make sure you bring the family . You'll not be disappointed . We will come back soon

I'm not really sure if this place deserves 3 stars but it was overall average so that's what it's getting. The one lady working there was nice...and that about wraps up the positives. The food was boring. We ordered a couple burgers (I can't remember the name of either of them - one was a plain burger and the other was on a special menu), (L) parmesan fries, and (S) onion rings and water. Our total was $50!! That is absolutely crazy for what we got. Both the burgers were not seasoned and overcooked. Like someone else said, their meat has a pate feel to it and something seems weird about it, but I don't know what. We both ordered medium and it was definitely medium-well/well-done. The ambiance was drab and had no real theme or continuity. Bathrooms were dingy. We won't return. Too many great burger places for a sub-par one. I don't know why so many people rave about this place.

Came in on a Saturday a little after noon and I was the only one there. You can pick wherever you'd like to sit (booth or table). It's very very clean there, they played good country music and had a tv in the corner playing a basketball game. I ordered the bacon avocado burger cooked medium with onion rings and a Pepsi. Food Took about 10 minutes to come out and within that time, 5 groups of people came in and started filling up the place. The burger was cooked perfectly, was seasoned well, very juicy and the bun was so soft. The onion rings were my favorite due to the light crunchy breading and I didn't even need any condiments, that's how flavorful these were. It was pricey though at $24 for one person I will surely be back and have already recommended it to others.

As soon as we sat down, we were catered to and asked what drinks we would like. A few members of our party arrived later, yet they still received the same warm, welcoming service. The food came out in less than 7 minutes and it was genuinely one of the best burgers I have ever had. The bun was so soft and the meat and egg were perfectly cooked to what I had requested. Additionally, the sweet jalapeños on this burger tasted magnificent. The fries were also extremely tasty. Definitely see myself returning before the end of July and I totally recommend for anyone who loves great food!!

Lady that helped us was very sweet. We went at lunch time and she said that they were slower than usual. Our party of three ordered chips & queso, the deluxe burger, bacon avocado burger, mushroom & Swiss burger, fries & onion rings. The queso was nothing to write home about. The burgers were delicious, huge & juicy. French fries & onion rings were good as well. Most definitely will be back for more.

Omg this place is a hidden gem! The food is outstanding! I absolutely love the burger and tots! I've also had the Torta and it's great as well! The service is great and the ambiance inside is super chill and relaxing! 10/10 I will keep recommending!

So I was told about this place and had to try it out. I did not seat down and eat, I ordered some food. The restaurant was clean the staff were nice and friendly. Were ordered 4 burgers and they were all delicious. We only ordered one large fries and it feed all of us. I really enjoyed the meal and meat in the burger was not frozen. Looked like the hand made it. The meat was thick and juicy. I will definitely hit this place up again.

I'm sorry but I don't understand the hype... arguably one of the worst burgers I've had in a while. My boyfriend felt the same and he is not picky at all. Service was slow but good. Food just isn't good in my opinion and pricey too.

Don't let the name fool you. The burgers don't resemble any burger I've ever eaten. Overpriced and didn't come w fries or chips.

This place is AMAZING! We tried the Bacon avocado and Bazooka Queso burger and decided in our heads if weight isn't a concern, we will need to eat their burger everyday. Obviously, that won't happen but we can dream service is great and they don't get annoyed with recommending items. The churro milkshake is awesome as well. The place is very clean and spacious with tons of seat.

I've been twice now and I am happy to endorse OSB. I've had the District Burger, fries, onion rings, and a couple of pupusas. Everything was fresh and delicious. Reasonable prices, friendly service. I'll be back!

Simple clean inside. I had Wagyu burger Bun good Fixings very good. Patty was a little dry But their main burger was juicy and flavorful. If I would of ordered regular meat burger it would be 5 starts.

We felt like getting a good burger and heard great things about this new Katy gem on Facebook. The parking was plentiful. When we walked in we were greeted and the customer service was on point. I believe I set my expectations too high because I was let down. We had the burger and the chicken sandwich both which tasted as though I could have made them from home. They were very plain and nothing gave them the extra umph to compare them to other good burger spots. I will say the brisket fries were really good!

Just like the name says: "back to the basics" Truly an old school hamburger. They have the key factors that make for a great burger: seasoned patty, seared nicely, quality bun and fresh vegetables. That's it! Amazing how many other burger places can't figure out this simple formula. Owner is extremely friendly, service was fantastic, prices are more than fair and I will most definitely be back. Only "gripe" is most of the walls are rather bare but it is a minor detail that won't keep me from frequenting this hidden gem on Mason Road. Cheers!

Okay. The owner of this place is a neighbor of mine so I want to be quite cautious. I posed a question to a community food group I am in about a close in place to Katy, TX (an area close to my neighborhood) which had pupusas and a response immediately returned (from the neighbor) that Old School Burger was ' the place'. I am by no means a pupusas officiant however I have a number of Salvadoran customers who introduced me to the food (along with a number of Salvadoran delicious meals) and perhaps I developed an expectation bias and do not fully understand the range of flavors and textures of a pupusas and curtido (the delicious often seasoned cabbage eaten along with, on or in...whichever the consumer prefers as they consume their pupusas) and salsa de tomatoe casera which in not necessarily spicy but is not akin to the broth in a can of stewed tomatoes. Well suffice the pupusas (LaRocca and Chicarron in this case were not what I expected...a bit on the dry and overcooked (grilled to a slight burnt texture instead of a well grilled pancake) sides quite Bland curtido (this may be my bias as I've had a range however none so flavorless as this) and a equally listless salsa. Please do not misunderstand...nothing was objectionable simply not remarkable. The pupusas masa I thought somewhat dry (like too large a ratio of a bulgur wheat to parsley in a dry versus moist tabbouleh)...the stuffings flavor in each pupusa indistinguishable from each other and largely dependent on queso and I've already opined on the sides. So far the answer to 'is there a great pupusas in Katy' I must say that the answer is not here. I've heard numerous very positive comments about the hamburgers however so I'll return to sample one of these in the near future.

Like many restaurants around Houston and the 'burbs, this is restaurant is in an unassuming spot. The interior is normal, nothing special to write about. The meal was off to a rocky start when I was served the absolute worst horchata ever. The workers assured me it was good horchata: it was not. I've been drinking horchata every summer for decades and love it! Anyways, just order the tea. Service is prompt and the co-owner definitely cares about the customers. As for the food, the burger was cooked nicely! It didn't taste like the best quality meat, but it was cooked to perfection, so that's always a good surprise. The sweet potato fries were good. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here, but if I'm in the area I'd stop by again

Homemade meals made just right for the price you pay! Our meals were served by the lovely lady who is the owner of the restaurant & her service was greatly appreciated. We ordered a brisket and chicken sandwich. The chicken was lightly battered and it comes with jalapeño honey sauce, so it turned out good! Parmesan fries with rosemary butter were delicious. The brisket was seasoned so well and was served with just the perfect amount! I would love to see this place grow because it has a lot of potential. P.s I appreciate the throwback music they were playing. We will be back again!

The burgers here are juicy and well put together. Not a sloppy burger at all. My mouth is watering thinking of them. Stop by if you can, they are so yummy. Service was great too, the waitresses there are very nice and fast to wait on you

We really enjoyed the burgers and fries. There aren't many places you can get a delicious homemade burger anymore, and this place delivered! we will absolutely return for another round. the owner is super friendly and has such a positive attitude. Overall, great experience!!

Went to Old School Burger yesterday, I ordered the Bunrise Burger, it was actually juicy and very delicious. Now, let me tell you about their fries. I'm a huge fan of fries that aren't too thin or too thick. Example: I absolutely hate the fries from Freddy's and love the fries from Red Robbin (even though they're steak fries). The fries at Old School Burger (in my opinion) are perfect. The only thing that was less than pleasant (which I'm hoping will change) is when I ordered a Coke with my meal I received a big glass of ice and 1 can of soda ($1.75 each). No problem, I ordered a glass of ice water as well. Service was great! You can really tell they are a new business and very eager to please the customers... not to mention you could eat off the bathroom floor (it was that clean). Prices were VERY REASONABLE.... next time we go we're going to try their Pupusas. On the flip side of their menu they have breakfast options and other things like Tortas, Tacos, Tostados... DEFINITELY GIVE THEM A TRY!!

If you are craving for a good delicious burger with some spice and arugala and truffled Parmesan fries and a beer in a good ambience relaxing place to eat with good music and good service from the owner herself her name is Vilma, well this is the place to go to. Great new spot in Katy! I was unaware it was here until recently. Tried it with friends and it was very good! Burgers are very good! Size is large and the ingredients are fresh. Service is really friendly! Menu seems to have a lot of unique variation. I'll be back to try.

I went in on a wednesday night around 6. we were the only ones in there... the service was amazing, the food was IMPECCABLE, the overall vibe of the place was very casual. It looks family owned and I love that. Rather than spending $20 on a burger at a chain restaurant GO HERE!!

I ordered a medium well burger and got a super well-done patty. It wasn't flavorful so I had to add ketchup to feel something. Truffle fries are OK. I wouldn't come back here for the burgers.

We received this meal as a gift but unfortunately we could not eat anything. The hamburger meat was rubbery and you couldn't chew it. Chips were tough and queso was like water. Onion rings were hard. Very disappointing for a $10 burger.

Customer service was excellent. I got the District burger. It was great! The bun was a airy brioche style. The patty had a thin flavorful crust from the flat top (I assume). I asked for some chipotle ranch, it was awesome! The jalapeño ranch was flavorful, not spicy which I appreciate.

The staff was very nice and super friendly. The inside of this place wasn't anything fancy, but that didn't deter me from giving it a try. I ordered the Swiss Mushroom burger medium and after a half an hour I was unpleasantly surprised to find that it was over cooked. This was pretty upsetting because I was really wanted a good burger. The price also didn't match the quality and the presentation wasn't any better than something you'd find at home. All in all, I probably won't be visiting this establishment again unless there is some serious changes. For their sake, I pray that those changes come quickly.

What an absolute gem. This place is amazing...Mine and my wife's burger was absolutely perfect. The woman that owns the place was extremely nice and very on it with customer service. The next time we're in Katy, we'll be back for sure.

Been here 3 times. Mushroom Swiss burger and wagyu burger were incredible. Huge burgers, very freshly made. Great service every time. Love it here highly recommend.

My wife and i tried this place after reading the reviews. First off, the service was great. We were greeting upon entering and promptly seated. I had a tea and my wife had an agua fresca lemonade which was good. The server kept our drinks filled and come by often to check on us. As far as the food though, it wasn't bad but quality didn't meet the price point. I had a bbq burger and the wife had a mushroom & swiss. For mine the meat patty had no seasoning, and to be honest the texture was more of a spam type pâté that a traditional crumbly burger patty. There was also something a little off about the taste. My wife also noted that the patty in the mushroom swiss had no seasoning as well. The fries were great, and the onion rings weren't bad, but again, at that price point I would go somewhere else next time.

We had a few different things-pupusa was good- The mushroom burger-ordered medium rare based on people saying they were over cooked a lot-It was well done....ate about half. The chilaquiles didn't have flavor-salsa verde and the beans were really runny. I wouldn't return.

One of the best, if not the best, burgers in Katy! I had the wagyu burger while my wife had the regular burger. Mine was amazing, but the regular burger was just as good. The bread was perfect and definitely reminded me of old school burgers. Truffle fries and Parmesan fries were also spectacular. This place should be constantly packed! Sooo good!!!!

We went because we read they have gluten free buns. The burgers were fantastic- big and juicy - and the gluten feee buns were soft and tasty. Tots were so crunchy. Service was excellent.

Family visited this great establishment tonight, we ordered three burgers and the cheese fries. The cheese is a white queso, unexpected, but very good. We also got an Oreo shake, super creamy and delicious.
