Nice place with a friendly owner. Traditional decoration and authentic dishes! We enjoyed the Filfar. Not more or less, perfect!

A warm welcome when we arrived. We enjoyed pork souvlaki and courgettes with eggs & potatoes and tzatiki. Lovely traditional and tasty food. Highly recommended. Thank you for your hospitality.

The best meal I had in Cyprus. Afelia (pork cooked in wine and coriander seeds. I loved. I would come back just for this meal. Perfect, cozy meal. Don’t forget the glass of wine. Friendly people. You can’t go wrong ;) very good prices.

Have eaten here a number of times now and all the food is excellent fresh cooked with good sized portions. The owners are very friendly and provide excellent service, The outside seating in the courtyard at the front is nicely presented and inside is very cosy and traditional, when sat outside there can be some noise from traffic as the taverna is located on the Episkopi road but it does not effect the atmosphere or the experience. I would recommend booking in advance on a Friday and Saturday evening as the tables can fill up quickly.

November 2024 still a fantastic place to meet friends and have a lovely mezze meal to share. With salad, egg and courgettes, wonderful beef in gorgeous sauce, luntza and ham, sheftalis and delicious lamb chops. A delightful meal served beautifully. A truly excellent way to celebrate our wedding anniversary with delightful people and generous hosts. What could be more enjoyable. September 2024. Once more we have come to enjoy this delightfully relaxed restaurant and its lovely Cypriot food. We had a great welcome from the friendly cheerful proprietor and the menu and drinks swiftly delivered. Our choices of lamb chops and moussaka were preceded by a complementary village salad. This was all presented beautifully in the outside table area as the sun set on such a lovely warm evening. The delicious mains were followed by Cyprus coffee and coffee liqueurs. A perfect meal in a perfect venue. Here's what I wrote before:- Wonderful hearty old fashioned welcome from the proprietors who care about their clientele. The menu is comprehensive but very traditional Cypriot too with traditional dishes favoured. Traditional Cypriot drinks and others available. Prices are competitive and very reasonable. Only open in the evenings, but children are welcome and well catered for. Service is very good and staff are friendly and will advise on choices. Allergies are advised. Plenty of free parking. An older village property converted to a restaurant gives an authentic atmosphere without being overly pretentious. A thoroughly delightful experience.

We visited the Old Stables Tavern mid November 2022. It came highly recommended by the locals and after looking at the reviews we were convinced, this would be our dining location of the evening. The interior of the place gives credit to the name, it looks as if the last decorations originated in the 90’s. In itself this is not an issue, but I would expect them to at least clean the walls from food stains, grease stains and other indistinguishable left overs from previous customers. The server of the evening appeared friendly, but unfortunately due to a language barrier it was hard to have an easy going conversation. The menu is plain and to the point, mixing some greek dishes with a few, what I assume to be, British ‘delights’. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and my partner the moussaka. The chicken was very bland, almost unseasoned and overcooked which made it really dry. The fries were soggy and the meager amount of greens served on the side can hardly be called a salad. The moussaka was slightly better but it left most of the taste to our imagination. All in all the food was edible but far from tasty and I don’t understand how anyone can give these exaggerated high ratings. If you have taste buds I advise you to think again and look for another place to eat. It was a disappointing evening.
