Had a lovely time, staff were very welcoming and kind. Had a nice swim in the pool and enjoyed a light dinner in the restaurant (absolutely delicious, their bar manager told us some cool details about the history of the building). Lots of cool details in decor and design. I did pay over 70 dollars in resort fees and parking on top of the actual stay so be prepared. Loved that my room had robes! Quick walk down the hill to the falls.

Should rename it to the Ripoff Boutique. Hidden fees everywhere. Description said parking was included (as it usually is at every hotel I’ve been to, esp at this price) yet they charge 40$ a day per parking when across the street is 10$. There’s an added $20 charge to your room fee for the hotel amenities (pool) even if you don’t want the pool you still have to pay. WHY IS IT EXTRA JUST MAKE THE ROOM $20 MORE THAT MAKES NO SENSE. MCDONALDS DOESNT CHARGE ME EXTRA IF I WANT MY BURGER TO HAVE BUNS! And don’t even get me started on their ridiculous 9 step digital check in process. Plus they charge you an extra $250 as a deposit that will be returned in 4-6 days. Why not return it right away? You had no problem taking it right away… I’ll stay anywhere else but here next time.

Charming Atmosphere, But Disappointing Stay at the Old Stone Inn 🏨 The Old Stone Inn has a lot of charm and potential. The building is lovely, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. One of the best parts of our stay was the restaurant—the food was excellent, and the service was great. Unfortunately, the hotel itself didn’t live up to expectations. The room wasn’t well maintained—we noticed dirty curtains, stained chairs, rough towels and toilet paper, and uncomfortable pillows, which made it hard to relax or get a good night’s sleep. We also felt misled by the “3rd night free” promotion. While it sounds like a good deal when booking, the nightly rate is significantly higher, so it doesn’t really end up being much of a discount. It felt a bit deceptive. Overall, while the setting and restaurant were enjoyable, the lack of cleanliness and comfort in the rooms, combined with the confusing pricing, made the experience underwhelming. With a little more care and transparency, this could be a great place to stay.

Google
Room was dirty and I found 2 spiders in my bed. Door banged in the doorframe all night so we had no sleep, after paying for the room you also have to pay $40 extra for parking, staff have ZERO customer service training it seems. And they charge your credit card for incidentals ahead of time (and extra $250) rather than charging later if they find an issue. Would NOT recommend anyone stay here. You can find way better for the price in this area. We won't be back.

The Old Stone Inn should be a popular destination for visitors to the Falls who want a quiet, cozy, out of the way place to stay in proximity to all the sights and attractions. We, however, were disappointed. As senior citizens, we made our reservations after Labor Day in order to avoid the crowds. Unfortunately, what we were not told, was that visiting after peak season also meant poor service and the restaurant at the hotel, the main reason we chose to stay there, does not serve dinner on the weekdays. After long days of sightseeing, therefore, we were forced to drive around looking for restaurants when all we really wanted to do, being tired, was have a cozy meal at the hotel and easily retire to our room. Instead, we were driving around looking for cheap takeout at 7pm. Not ideal. In the morning, the restaurant opened late, so if we wanted a cup of coffee, we spent 7.5 Canadian dollars for a small cup of weak coffee from the on-site "marketplace." Last, but not least, the room was infested with bees, yellow jackets. I was stung twice and the sites still hurt. My husband complained and was told there was nothing they could do about the restaurant and that we needed to understand that coming after their peak season, we should have expected this. As for the bees, we asked for some form of compensation for our pain and inconvenience and were given one free night of parking. Excuse me, the parking should have been free anyway! Thanks for nothing. We will not be returning. And does anyone have a good bee sting salve they can recommend??

We have travelled around the world for decades and this hotel had a very interesting vintage decor. Check-in and check out were quick and there was a choice to pre-check in online. The TV was inside a very intricate wood cupboard. One of the door didn’t stay open when you want to watch TV so we had to put some crumpled paper to hold it open. Everything is pretty clean and basic. The hotel is a 15 min walk to the falls. The worst experience was that our car that was parked in their parking lot was broken in and all belongings were stolen and they were worth thousands of dollars AND they have no CCTV camera in their parking lot. After paying a hefty parking fee, you’d think they would provide a security details for the parking lot. We have parked in many different hotels’ parking lot/garages (in different countries) for decades and never once this happened to us. So because of this we have to give a 1 star, 0 if we could. WE DON’T RECOMMEND ANYONE to stay here because you should expect some kind of protection when the hotel is charging a hefty parking fee. We would like the hotel owner/management to take this issue seriously and put necessary/additional security in their parking lot for future customers.

Room was nice, but dated. Beds were comfortable. Location was great. Staff was great. We had breakfast on site which was good. NO fridge in the room. I don't think I have stayed in a hotel without a fridge in a very very long time. No fan in the bathroom unfortunately We had a room that was 'conjoined' to another room and when they were having a conversation it was like they were in our room with us.

Nice lobby and comfy couches.|Other than that.. Do not stay here. |Nadine claims it is a boutique four start hotel but….the. 17.99 resort fee which gives you access to the pool (which was closed) and also two free bottles of water per day. |Nadine told me that we should have read the ‘fine print’ What a joke.. Is this 1986?|A four star resort with Resort fees for something that should be included. and thats a per day charge.|?!?|Stay away from the Old Stone unless you want an Old Stone Nadine in your life.|FYI… Doubletree is up the road and gives you free warm cookies at checkin and free WIFI and you can use the pool for FREE.|Thank you Nadine for a truly rememorable experience.

Yelp
Rounding up from a 3.5. This boutique hotel was converted from a historic century stone building originally built in 1904 as a flour mill. Because of the dark wood, it's much darker inside than in the photos, so it would be especially homey during the fall and winter months. It's really conveniently located within a 10-15 walk to Clifton Hill, Fallsview Casino, and Niagara Falls, and 15-20 to the Niagara Falls Convention Centre. We were in town for just one night for Comic Con and this was the most affordable and decent looking/reviewed hotels. We weren't sure what to expect, but we had great time. The room was clean enough and the bed was firm and comfortable. The decor had an older vibe to match the historic building, but it still had some modern touches. The biggest downside would be the bathtub - it didn't drain properly so I was nearly ankle deep in water before I was done, and I take quick showers so it accumulated quickly. We got the traditional main mill luxury room with one king bed. Our room was on the third floor and had a window, but it was a view of the indoor pool instead of outside. We didn't mind, as we were only there for a night and were mostly in the room at night, anyway. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to check out the terrace or pool. I'm not sure if it was just because I hadn't been so close to an indoor pool in awhile, but even at the elevators near the pool the smell of chlorine was so, so strong. I would suggest requesting a room away from the pool if you're sensitive to smell. The walls are pretty thin as is, so close to the pool would also mean noisier. Be sure to check out the Flour Mill Scratch Kitchen Restaurant inside the hotel. We had the best dining experience!

Yelp
I love the old historic hotels with personality and character. The Old Stone Boutique was comfortable, clean, lots of ambience and the service was great. Much better than a chain hotel in my opinion.

Yelp
Received excellent service at check-in and got a nice large room. The location is within walking distance to the Falls and downtown. The best part is the bakery on-site!

Yelp
Stayed here overnight for a live concert they were featuring for the holidays, The Spoons. What a cool setting with the band performing under their main room with chandeliers, stone walls, and wooden ceilings. The hotel itself is impressive, not just the main restaurant, and lobby. There's a very nice pool, courtyard, and two bars. Our king room was a bit dated but very spacious, overlooking the courtyard. The bed was comfortable with nice fluffy pillows. The TV was situated right in front of the bed and featured a mix of analog and digital channels. The bathroom was also spacious and modern. Unfortunately the espresso machine did not work and there was no refrigerator in the room. Be aware there are extra charges that they tell you about upon checking. Parking is $25 per night and they charge you a facility fee of $15 per night.

Yelp
I am very unimpressed with this "boutique" hotel. We rented a couple of rooms for Mon - Thursday holiday. What we got were smelly, humid rooms that were not in great shape. Garbage strewn around on stairs leading up to our room, fans running to clear the air in the rooms. To top it off, after paying a healthy nightly rate for the rooms, they also charged us $39 a night for parking. We could have parked across the street for $20 a night had we known. To make the bedt of it, we thought we would maybe grab a bite to eat at the restaurant and bar, but sadly, they only open it from Thursday to Sunday. I can't speak for other reviewers, but there is little value for the money here. Parking should have at least been free after spending what we spent to rent the rooms.

Yelp
I spent my birthday weekend a few weeks ago at the Old Stone Inn and was blown away by the professionalism and level of personal attention/care bestowed upon us by the staff in the hotel and in the restaurant and gift shop - the cream filled square croissants are heavenly! The espresso martinis were a definite highlight and Arrick's knowledge of both local and international vineyards, coupled with his clear love of mixology and dedication to customer service made for an unforgettable experience.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for 2 days as a little get away from the city. Getting to the location was easy. Parking was easy and conveniently located within the premises. We were greeted by a very nice and professional concierge. The reception area was clean and looked historic. We took the elevator to our floor and accessed our unit. The unit size was great and nicely decorated. It was the little details that somewhat ruined the experience. Looking inside our bed I saw some stains in our sheets. Looked like an old blood stain or something. We also found a hair attached to the bathroom wall (failed to take a photo though) and the ceiling above our bed had visible water staining or mould that didn't look great. We also didn't have a fridge even though there was space for it. We had to improvise and place our food and drinks near the window where a bit of a cold draft came in. We chose to take the stairs one time to go up to our floor and there was a really strong chemical or vinegar-like smell in the stairwell. Didn't do that again. We also woke up one of the days to the loudness of our neighbours' voice and their dog barking. The sound proofing seemed low... The service throughout the building was great though. Everyone was very attentive. We don't know, however, if we would stay at this hotel again.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel for one night. It was the worst hotel experience in a developed country. First of all, the key pad was not working correctly. After we managed to get in, and drop off our bags, we found out that our toilet was not working properly. It was extremely disgusting. We called the front desk. They sent someone up, and told us that the crew had already left for the night, and they would have someone come in first thing in the morning. Meanwhile, us and our two young children were left having to use the entry bathrooms. They could not accommodate another room for us, as they were fully booked. Next morning, no one came to fix the bathroom. We decided to check out. Spoke at the front desk again about this. They said they would again send someone up, which never happened. I asked to speak to the manager - apparently he wasn't there. Left my phone number with the front desk. Manager never called back. I called again, and he didn't attend, and ended up leaving my phone number once more. While we were there, we met other couples with various different problems. Stay away if you can!!

Yelp
I forgot to mention the nice in-room touches; nest bath products, robes, slippers, and Nespresso!

Yelp
The Inn's definition of a boutique hotel and mine are vastly different. The hotel on their website reflects a very carefully staged photo shoot. Mostly of the attached restaurant which does seem to be nice. My experience began by driving by the property a couple of times because I couldn't believe what I was looking at was a boutique hotel. My photos reflect the area surrounding the hotel. In the staff and lobby presented well but that's where it ended. The hotel was no better than an old Day's Inn. The room was small and dusty. I had barking dogs on either side of my room. I don't know when the photo of the courtyard was taken but it wasn't the vast lush space. It was filled with several little cabins (not sure why). This was supposed to be the end of a romantic vacation, instead the biggest disappointment. The cops with guns drawn outside a restaurant down the street and the homeless not so much. Overall, a very expensive mistake (including the $27 parking fee I wasn't expecting).

Yelp
If you like a smaller more intimate setting this is the place. It was a nice respite from the crazy crowds. Pros: quiet, nice indoor pool, great bar & restaurant, atmosphere, WeGo stop right out the front door, overall location, easy parking ($20 per night which is less than most hotels), free Starbucks coffee each morning. Con: our mattress was a little broken down and uncomfortable

Yelp
Called earlier today to ask if we needed reservations for the outdoor domes and were told they do not take reservations. Showed up at 6:30 with 4 kids, 3 adults + 1 baby. and were told they had no space because they had reservations booked. Finally got seated and it took 20 minutes for the server to get our drink order + our kids drink and dessert order. 20 minutes passed still no drinks. Finally two of the kids hot chocolates came and they put chilli flakes on their whip cream. We then noticed that people who arrived after us got their drinks and that's when we decided we didn't want to wait over an hour for drinks and dessert so we decided to leave. As we were walking out the server was coming with our drinks. We told her we were leaving because we had been sitting for an hour and she was extremely rude. Service was so slow and the manager kept saying they were understaffed. The staff semmed very overwhelmed and were not accommodating to locals at all. The Christmas decor is fun & cute. It's too bad the experience was horrible.

Yelp
This hotel was nice. It had a good location and was an easy walk to several things. They had a pool, a nice restaurant to eat at if you want to, a large parking lot, and the place was clean. It has a lot going for it. It presents itself as an upscale hotel and/or "resort" There were a lot of coupons and discounts handed out for the restaurant, chocolate shop, and for several wine tours. The beds were large and very firm. Lots of pillows. So, having said all of that, it seemed like they were nickelling and diming. $19.99 per day for parking. $7.99 resort fee which was mandatory whether you used the pool or the other facilities offered. The place was clean, but the smell of cleaning supplies was nauseating and overwhelming. The place had some modern touches, but some of it was badly outdated. One of my lamps was broken. Overall the location and the handiness of where I was was pretty good. I would prefer that they would use different cleaning supplies though, as it was making me physically sick.

Yelp
This hotel was one that popped up on Groupon when we were briefly looking for a hotel to make reservations for for our trip. Like many of the other hotels listed, this also included breakfast and dine-in vouchers, and wine tasting and chocolate tour tickets. What made this hotel stand out though was its affordable pricing, close location to the Falls, and really rustic and unique-looking interiors! The photos on the website showed that it was a boutique style hotel. In fact, this hotel used to be a former flour mill and retains its former brick and stone interior too. You can see it in the interior when you walk in. The male staff at the reception desk warmly greeted us and provided us with what we needed for the stay. There was a per day facility charge and a parking fee too. While my SO was taking care of the check-in details, I was mesmerized by the interior decor. It was really unlike any hotel I've been to! There was so much character to it. Like I mentioned in the hotel restaurant post, this was definitely not a cookie cutter hotel and I loved its character that much more because of it! It very very homey and you can tell from the photos just how cozy it was. Our room was number 312 on the third floor. We actually got upgraded to this room that night for whatever reason. We had no problem about the free upgrade! Walking in, the room's ceiling was slanted on one side which made it look almost like those cathedral ceilings. Again, this wasn't something you saw in regular hotels. There were really soft throw pillows on the queen sized bed as well as a really fluffy throw cover too that we really liked since it was so warm and snuggle-friendly. The room had an espresso machine where you could make your own espresso, flat-screen TV, lights, desk, armchair, and a window that looked out to the stairwell. I could see the swimming pool down below too. There was also a bottle of wine inside the room but this was a charged service if you wanted to indulge in it. I really liked the bathroom. It was styled so nicely with paintings on the wall. I especially liked how the shower curtains were double-layered and they weren't the plastic ones; these were actual cloth curtains! Everything was very clean and modern despite it being a hotel dating back to 1904. (However, when looking at the outside of the building, I believe that only the main part of the hotel -- lobby and restaurant -- are the actual former flour mill part. The hotel guest rooms seem to be added on to the main part later on as it became a hotel and thus probably don't date so far back to the 1900s.) The stay was comfortable and we really enjoyed the two $10 breakfast vouchers that we got with the stay as well. We used them to dine at the Old Flour Mill for the two mornings that we were there -- it was just so convenient to head downstairs to dine instead of finding a breakfast/brunch restaurant nearby. The food and service were really good. The check-out process was easy and simple. Their service really was very warm and friendly. I really enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to spend a night at the Falls.

Yelp
DON'T PAY THEIR PARKING FEE! The only reason they lose a start is because we were lied to about the 5 CAD parking RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET! We we told by a clever gal that if we parked there it's 5 bucks YES but you can't exit with your car without paying another $5. Totally wrong! You are given a ticket with a date and time and can go in and out as you please as long as you're within the 24 hour period. 5 vs 17 per day is a huge difference. Enjoy my 34 Canadians you sly boots you! (Should have been 51 but I was on to them by the last day, VICTORY!) Can't trick me 3 days eh? The hotel itself is very quaint. Like visiting your old, rich, bougie, proper aunt. Not very modern at all but that's OK because it was absolutely beautiful. The bar connects to the pool so you can grab a drink, slam it hard, then take a dip. They don't allow drinks from the bar to go to the pool, for good reason, they use bottles and glass. If you exit turn left, cross the bridge, head of or shady staircase, which leads right to the falls! Careful it's a fairly steep walk so don't attempt if it's wet and walking up was Hell on earth for me but the $5 all day parking was worth the chest pain. The room itself was super clean. Considering the prices at Niagara falls this place we pretty cheap. Our Expedia bill is below so you can get an idea. Parking was charged later. So that's NOT included below. Price breakdown Room price: $323.23 2 nights: $138.86 avg./night night one $137.26 night two $140.45 Taxes & fees : $45.52

Yelp
We loved the helpful staff, especially Tom/Tex. The food was perfect, including the suggested local favorites. The front desk person went out of their way to help us. The rooms are OK, as expected. We did like the two queen beds with lots of pillows. The Wi-Fi worked as expected. The TV program selection was limited.

Lisa V.

Yelp
It was ok... only because Eddie at breakfast and the food were great - and the room had a bed. That's about all I have to say about this place... never again. Save your $$$ and just go for the restaurant if anything... - HORRIBLE front desk staff - except Jay who got us out of a dingy banged up and dirty basement room - for something that didn't quit as bad (like pinesol covering up the basement smell and mildew) and who's furniture at least didn't have whole chunks out of it.. Staff - I don't know if "he" was security or what?? ...But large man questioned me not 3 minutes into the lobby, as though I needed to justify being there.! And no.. we were NOT dressed even remotely like there was cause for it. Didn't feel so bad when I found out later, he did the same to our friends... who were dressed as though they were ready for a high society event. And 'he' was friendly than the girl who checked us in!!... absolutely the unfriendliest check in EVER! She was replaced the next day with an older, pretentious woman who well... I'll get there! - GAUGED at every corner!! Saw that 'parking' was an issue, in on line reviews, so we called directly and said we'd be willing to sign up for 'reserved' parking in advance... to which they didn't admit at that point even, that they were going to charge us $30 a night regardless!! On top of our room - just to park. They have "no such thing" as 'reserved' parking. Friends there... no charge they thought, because they were in a 'deluxe' room that had it included. ...Same room as us but with a higher ceiling, a cheesy cheap fireplace, and no bar fridge that we at least had ... but $200 more per night as it was 'deluxe' We went to the front desk with questions later to the cratchety older woman, about the parking fees.... she begrudgingly gave us one night back - like she was doing US a favor, quoting 'Expedia' booking like it was 'their' doing and our ignorance at fault... and when asked to explain the 'facilities' fee on checkout (same woman)... had no rationalization other than 9am to 10pm pool... and was clearly ready to argue. As this weekend was my bday getaway, my husband didn't have any interest and he paid it just to get the hell out of there and to leave their bs behind us. - indoor pool couldn't be more unappealing, constant crowd of smokers right at the front entrance, absolute ridiculous maze to get to your room (DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE MOBILITY ISSUEs)... no valet, no bellhops, and housekeeping ONLY if you call and request it?!!... they say it's due to covid still, but that clearly doesn't come in to play when looking at how diligent they do not clean before new guests arrive. - Cheap small towels, 1 roll of tp in bathroom, housecoats were filthy, rooms in BAD need of repair from paint to banged up furniture with chunks out of it... to stained ceiling tiles in the hallways and popcorn ceilings.. whole hotel...a MESS!! Any money spent here is on lobby decor. - No spa, not hot tub, no other facilities but the restaurants at the main entrance... and they were nice which is why I say 'stay elsewhere and go for them'. YET... $100.00 facilities fee that was not mentioned ANYWHERE in booking or upon check in. Terrible place... Double Tree right across will definitely get our money on the next visit.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about this hotel. We were originally staying at the Crowne Plaza overlooking the Falls but had to move because they weren't pet friendly ((even though when I booked the room I swear that they were)). Anyway, we moved and discovered our new favorite hotel. My husband and I are suckers for old buildings and the original part of the hotel was built in 1904. It's been added onto and is quite eclectic. The room was clean and updated, the bathroom was huge, the pool was so warm ahhhhh.....and the bar was gorgeous. I got some Niagara bubbly for myself and my husband as we checked in. Also, when we checked in our little dog got a present! A little collapsible doggie bowl, and some treats!! Any hotel that treats dogs as a priority is getting from me. The courtyard off of our room was beautiful too. I cannot wait to go back.

Emalee H.

Yelp
Not good, overpriced. Bare minimum in the rooms, antenna tv, no fridge, toilet paper was low, cleaning ladies took all day. They charged $25 per day to park (and the lot was no where near full) it was half paved and half gravel lot. The hotel also has multiple unlocked entrances so anyone can get in from anywhere. They charged a mandatory $15 per day fee for coffee and a water bottle in the room (even though I wanted neither.) The restaurant in the hotel is grossly overpriced. I honestly don't know why or how anyone stays here. The only reason it doesn't have 1 star is because I didn't see any cockroaches - thats the only thing between this and getting 1 star. Also, the hallways and rooms smelled really bad.

Yelp
Nothing Boutique about this hotel .. We stayed at this hotel from July 6-9th. This is a place that I would not recommend anyone staying at!!! The hotel staff are not very pleasant (refer to examples below.) Hotel is pet friendly and not human friendly. They really need to designate particular rooms for pet owners and not force other guests to dodge pets, pet allergies and pet droppings... The room was small.-The only positive was that the bed was comfortable. Our room did not have the extra basin for a room of 4; however, the guests next door (room of 2) had the extra sink. Imagine the chaos of trying to share one bathroom and one mirror/sink. Carpet had stains. No coffee maker in room. Poor lighting in room. Every day we had to ask for two sets of towels and most times, we never got them. No hand towels. One day we were told that we could only get 2 towels until housekeeping cleaned our room. Even then, no extra towels. We called the front desk and no one answer the phone. Walking to the lobby and see the staff just standing there. There are at least three doors/hallways that have to be opened/passed through to get to rooms on the back end of the first floor. Not disability friendly . There were times when our doors would be opened upon our return to our rooms when we KNOW we shut and locked our doors. We would also get periodic prank calls. Pool area was more like a kiddie pool. We were supposed to have a buffet breakfast however we were told at the last minute that it would be a plated breakfast. Therefore we were not able to select the food that we wanted but forced to eat the food that they prepared for us. Adults were not able to get orange juice. We were told that juice was only for children. We were able to get coffee, tea or water only. When we asked for water , we were given a half glass of water. Staff looked perturbed when we asked for a full glass of water. All the water in Niagara Falls, Ontario...and they are rationing out water... See picture. One server with dark hair (long hair), argued with a guest who said her food had hair in it. She gave the guest attitude when the guest said she was waiting 20min for breakfast to be served (breakfast started late). Staff said "at least it wasn't an hour." The service was so bad at the hotel that our touring company scheduled our group of nearly 50 people to have breakfast at neighbouring restaurant, Secret Garden the following day. Our last day, we had the buffet breakfast that we should have been given each morning... But we were told that we could only get one slice of bacon and sausage link. That same day, the same server told another guest that she had already been served and could not eat. However, the guest mentioned that she was instructed to come to our eating area for food. The bathroom was inoperable. see picture... Bottom line... Book somewhere else....

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed a 2-night stay at the Old Stone Inn. It's a beautiful little hotel, and we were upgraded to a suite with a fireplace, 2 bathrooms, and a jacuzzi tub. Everything was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were able to book private use of the heated indoor pool and also enjoyed Winterfest dinner in an outdoor globe. The service was excellent and we would highly recommend it for a romantic getaway!

Yelp
A solid 3.5 This place definitely defines independent boutique inn. The renovations and time it took to make them must have been daunting. It's beautiful. The dining area, the bar and lobby area are stellar. They fall short in the rooms to a certain degree. Like one person said, although they offer a fireplace in certain rooms. They aren't quite the real thing. In some ways, they did ease my mind because I was afraid of actually starting one. The carpeting as a border along the wall, um ew. Sorry, for all the thoughtful touches elsewhere in the inn, that was a design disaster in my mind. Don't expect to watch much TV as the reception is analog and fuzzy. We tried to fix it by checking to see if the cords or connections were off but discovered that the service was indeed analog. So reception problems would happen. Not to say the space wasn't comfortable. It was. Wonderful, clean with absolutely lovely toiletries by Molton Brown of London. I was disappointed to see no coffee machine. I think I could live without everything but that. They do offer free coffee in the lobby for guests. All in all. Really lovely place with some of the best interior design features and architectures I've seen that genuinely blend an original rustic with modern design . .

Yelp
Was worried after reading the reviews but our stay was great! I bought a groupon for a one night stay and wine tasting. I was disappointed the wine tasting was not at the hotel bar or restaurant and would need to be scheduled another time. Our room that came with the groupon had two beds which was silly since we didn't use one but it worked out fine. The lobby dinning room areas bar and pool are all beautiful! I love the rustic look . Walking distance from literally everything we walked to Clifton hill ate at the casino and walked to the falls. Lots of things to do.

Yelp
Things to know about Old Stone Inn. It is currently being renovated. I would have given them a 2-1/2 but I am optimistic on what they are doing here. Make sure you set your expectations accordingly. I can say that the noise of construction never ever bothered us during our stay, but it is obvious that the rooms are being reno'd and so some things are in progress. The rooms are also in various stages of being reno'd -- probably wing by wing. To be fair to the hotel, they have noted it, and also the rates reflect WIP. Another thing to note is that the pictures shown do not reflect a lot of the rooms. Our room had been partially done, new bed, furniture, lamps, rugs, flat screen TV. In talking with the front desk staff, things like new bathroom counters, safes, fridges etc will all come later on in the reno. They also do not have Moulton Brown toiletries in the room, but had a different luxury brand which was very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable! Starbucks coffee and mint water was available in the lobby. Very nice bar and lounge area. Parking is an extra fee of 12.99 a night. Depending on who checks you in, you will find that some staff are better in the explanation department as to what is happening. Lovely pool area with courtyard that is in the middle with comfortable tables and chairs. Very nice private area to relax. Note for the elderly folks, there are some areas with stairs that may be difficult, so ensure you ask for a room that can be accessed without stairs. The thing that was the most painful was check-in and check-out. Their system is not like what you would expect in bigger hotels and the itemizations are different on the bill -- it all comes out the same, but I feel for the clerks, as it seems to take them longer with each customer. So be prepared for a wait on either end. I would stay again though, especially once they are done the reno. Hotel is in a great location and I also think it lends itself a little more to the adult crowd.

Yelp
Loud guests, thin wall. Non working AC in the rooms, very loud and not working, showers are only good if you enjoy taking half a foot shower and half head shower. Very expensive for what it is.

Yelp
This place was recommended to me by a friend who found a deal on Groupon. Growing up in Buffalo, I've had many great times across the border over the years, however, I've never stayed on the Canadian side of the falls. I acquired the deal, myself, and headed on up to Canada to change that. This hotel was much better than I thought it would be. First off, the location was ideal. It wasn't buried in too many tourists, and was just a short walk away from the falls. The room wasn't anything too spectacular, but it was clean (as far as I could see without a black light lol) and comfortable. The only downfall would be the maze of doors that you have to go through to get back to your room (depending on where your room is located). The swimming pool area is set up nicely, and provided us with a much-needed relaxing dip after walking around all day. The bar (1904) was quiet - until some old-timers rolled in hammering down glass after glass of wine. Not that I'm complaining, as I find that to be great! Dining at the Flour Mill restaurant was a true delight, both for breakfast and for dinner. See the separate review on that for my opinion. If you can secure a deal through Groupon or elsewhere, I highly recommend this establishment. Well played, Canada, well played.

Yelp
We stayed there from 05/31/19- 06/3/19. Short walk to the Falls and Casinos and other attractions. Dated rooms. Our room had a very musty smell that we couldn't get rid of. The outdated A/C heating system was very loud. Our patio door could be open but no screens to keep out the insects. The light switches need attention. You had to hit them hard to turn them on. The restaurant was fantastic and the staff gets 5 stars! Front desk staff 5 stars. Be aware that there is a $15.00 a night charge to park your car in their lot.

Yelp
We arrived at this "Boutique Hotel" for a celebratory birthday evening. They allow dogs, which is something good that can be said. When we entered, the person on the front desk could not. care. less. He read off the policies of the hotel, and handed us our keys. Saw our dog, said, "Oh, you have a dog," then handed us a little package of cheap dog-related stuff. We went to our room, where we promptly discovered some fake eyelashes on the floor. I took these down to the front desk, and the manager offered to send someone up to our room to inspect it. And that's all. I declined that offer - clearly cleanliness is not a priority. We went to the restaurant in the hotel, which is truly mediocre, and not worth the price. Checking out the next morning, we were not asked how the stay was. Only if we wanted to card on file billed. The bill had a number of fun extra charges, like parking ($19.99), a "service fee" ($9.99), and a pet fee ($40), plus a hotel amenities tax ($2.00), then taxes on all of that (why yes, taxes on taxes). It was a $60 experience for $390. Not a good place.

Yelp
I must have stayed at another hotel...our experience was far from what I would expect from someplace that bills themselves as a "Boutique Hotel." When I am paying the room rates that they charge, I would expect that out room wouldn't be like a motor court with exterior walkway access and no direct elevator connection without having to go up/down various flights of stairs everywhere you look. On top of that, the AC unit in our room barely worked and there seemed to be minimal AC in the rest of the hotel, including the main lobby area. The pool, or more accurately a thimble, was tiny - and they do not have a hot tub, either. The area seemed to be filled with screaming kids every time we went by, so we decided to pass on it. I realize that Niagara Falls is a tourist trap area, but I don't expect to be gouged like I did here by being charged a $5 'resort fee' and $18 per day to park that they do not mention on their website - we only found out about it when we checked in. POOR FORM. With these added charges there is no difference between this place and places on the main strip. We will not be back.

Yelp
The pics oversell this hotel. But it's a balance on location, price and availability. Friendly and efficient staff. Room smelled like smoke, at checkout they waived the $20 parking fee. Prefer to stay someplace else next time in Niagara area.

Yelp
The 1 and only elevator was broken the day we arrived and the day we left, never did anyone ever say that. The pool smelled of pure chlorine. The outside of the hotel looked run down, however the bedroom was very pretty and clean. The bed was ok, could use an upgrade. The restaurant was pretty, service was good, but food was terrible. The 20$ a night parking fee is kind of ridiculous, you could park in the area for next to nothing. The location was good you are next to everything. However if your going to get a room for a "falls view" go with embassy suites or the sheriton, there is no view here

Yelp
We were looking for a spot to stay in Niagara Falls for our first anniversary, and I was really excited about this boutique hotel. I love supporting smaller, boutique hotels, and Old Stone Inn appeared quaint, romantic and adorable from the website. The updates that they've made looked great as well. Upon arrival, the lobby and dining room appeared as they did on the website -- vintage with a modern flair, and fun yet romantic. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. Sadly, we found out that they were hosting a wedding there that evening so the entire restaurant was being shut down if you hadn't made reservations in advance. Downside to a smaller hotel I suppose. They weren't even serving desserts or smaller plates -- it was completely closed to everyone else. Had we known about this in advance, we could've planned for it. A big part of why we stayed here is because we wanted to try their restaurant. Luckily, we found a market nearby to buy some food and had a picnic instead in their open courtyard. That was a nice escape from the Niagara Falls tourists and bustle. Going to our room, the hallway smelled like mildew, which was a unpleasant and adding to our disappointments thus far. Our room was nice with (what looked like) a new bathroom and nice king size bed. Then it continued to go downhill. It could be that they haven't finished the renovations and updates throughout the hotel, but they had an entertainment center that the TV didn't fit in. Meaning when you opened the doors to expose the TV, we couldn't push the doors back because the TV took up the entire width. This made it awkward to walk around. I realize this is a minor flaw, but, again, just added to the negatives we kept experiencing. The most upsetting part is that another main reason we choose Old Stone Inn was for the fireplace in our room. Being our first anniversary, we wanted a romantic setting, and knew it would be cool enough at night to utilize a fireplace. From the photos, they look like legit gas fireplaces with actual flames. Well, you'd be mistaken too because the "fireplace" is an electric heater with LIGHTS that resemble flames (and not even realistically, more like a nightlight). We would not have paid more for a room with a fireplace if we knew that this was their idea of one. Perhaps if this wasn't a special trip for us, and we didn't have high expectations, we would've enjoyed our stay more. I recommend staying in Niagara-on-the-Lake instead -- less touristy and closer to all of the vineyards and actual good restaurants.

Yelp
Really a 3.5. Doesn't' look like much from the outside, but once you walk in the lobby is beautiful, as was the restaurant and bar... The bar, while dark, had a charming fireplace and old-world meets modern feel. The staff was very pleasant. For all the wow factor of the entry, the room was very average. The beds were cozy and the room was clean, but the shower sucked and we were on the first floor with a window opened to the shady side of a parking lot. But we'd go back. Why? Because of the perfect location for the price. You might not have a view of the falls from there, but we walked everywhere, easily, for the fantastic central location.

Yelp
Old stone hotel it is!!! Very classic.. Nice and quiet hotel.. Dining room is lovely, nice interior classic style design..Swimming pool is big and nice..beautiful new rooms!!! We got the room in a discounted price, but if you buy it in a regular price, it is pretty pricey. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Definitely gonna come back again here!!

Yelp
I booked this hotel last minute as we were headed into Niagara. It was very charming with a nice bar area. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but the food looked great. I cannot say enough about the staff here. Upon check in, Rojit was so friendly and helpful. The room was just what we needed. We ventured out with our doggie and she freaked out at the fireworks. She made her way out of her collar and ran - as fast as possible. We went back to the hotel to call the humane society. Within minutes, the entire staff was helping us look for her. Rojit, Lola, and Jimmy - THANK YOU! Thanks to their help, she was safely found and returned to us. When we got back to the hotel after looking for her, they had 2 glasses of champagne for us and a bowl of water for her. They were all so thoughtful and kind. Kenny, on night shift was also great and gave us a little gift for Daisy. It is also conveniently located - near the Falls, Casino, and activities. I would not hesitate staying here... we will absolutely stay here next time we make it to the Falls.

Yelp
Great value, friendly front desk. The look is traditional cottage, and it's very nice and detailed in the main building, but the quality of decor fades in the hallways and rooms. Everything looks worn, needs a reno'. Mattress looked new.

Yelp
Don't believe the profile pics. This place is equivalent in design and quality to a cheap 2.5-star motel. It is not horribly dirty but it is an old musty building that they cheaply renovated and are now trying to pass off as a boutique hotel. The bathroom didn't even have any towel bars to hang your thin wet towels. There were two closets and only 4 hangers in the whole room. The TV wasn't plugged in I had to figure out that only one of the sockets worked. The bed was comfortable and the wifi worked so no complaints about that. However, we tried to call the front desk 3 times and the phone rang forever....they never picked up. They also charged us $17 a day to park which I was not happy about. I was especially peeved the next day when I realized that all of the surrounding parking areas were charging $5-$10. What a rip-off. The only reason to stay at this place is if you're bringing a pet, otherwise pay a few more bucks if you are accustomed to nicer hotels.

Yelp
Three $$$???? How, what, why?? Okay, so I was dropped off with a tour group (please don't judge me). I was dragged by family. The main lobby and restaurant is a sight itself. It has a grand old fashioned sophisticated feel to it. The dining room is very nicely decorated. But don't be fooled by this, the hotel itself is um.....okay? The hallways to get to your rooms are complicated. We went through at least 4 doors, up and down random steps, in and out of the building? cut through the pool and finally made it to our cheap, crap, old, smelly room. If you have a lot of luggage or heavy ones for that, request a room closest to the lobby, you'll thank me later. Our room faced the outside patio,.....with no blackout curtains. We had the thin, almost see through and that's it. So any peeping tom was welcome to look into any lit room and peep to their hearts desire. Good thing I had to wake up at 5am before the sun came up or I'd be so mad if I got to sleep in with the sun shining into the room. Reading through the reviews, I see parking charges?? really? The hotel is in the middle of a huge emply lot, with no cars!! There's plenty of street parking if you wanna beat the system. Location was convenient. It's across the street from the Sklyon tower, a block from the casino, but a ways walk to the arcade/main area. Unless the hotel is running a special for less than $80/night, I would avoid this place. Spring for a better hotel.

Yelp
I chose this place because they allowed pets. The lobby is very beautiful... When I arrived they gave us a king suite like I requested and I was put in the very back and the room was decent but nothing like the photos posted on the site. I requested another room and it was a queen and look much better but I still had to pay the same price, Which irritate me because the queen rooms are advertised lower. Overall the room I stayed in was very clean and renovate nicely. The AC in the room was not working at all and it leaked so much water onto the floor, I was scared they would think my dog peed. Our room was next to a maintenance closet and we could hear everything clear when the workers were shuffling in it at 7am. Overall this place is very beautiful and I would stay here again. The restaurant great dinner and breakfast also the dinning area is beautiful. It is about a 10 minute walk to the falls and onto the main strip which didn't bother me at all.

Yelp
This is meant to be a 4 star rating (I can't figure out how to delete 1 star) due to the price. The weekend we (5) stayed at the Old Stone Inn was to celebrate the birthdays of 3 girls in our party. The Hotel is beautifully decorated and has a warm inviting feel to it. We booked two rooms for two nights, both rooms were very clean and well provided. We did miss not having a coffee maker, but the hotel provides coffee and tea (several different flavours) The restaurant looked wonderful, so did the menu. Seeing that I was paying for 4 people in the group we (I) passed on the dining experience as it was pricey. Might be okay for a splurge for 2. While at the bar getting a tea, a gentle man was appalled finding out that his son's Shirley Temple cost more than his beer. And refused to pay on principle. The weekend we picked coincided with what seemed a cheer leading competition, The Old Stone Inn hosted what looked like a bus full of cheer leaders. Besides from them checking in we didn't notice them being there, it was very quiet and peaceful. The pool area was very Zen, the lights were low which added to the relaxed atmosphere. Looking out in to the beautiful court yard while swimming or relaxing on the provided chase lounge. The pool is small but the times we went nobody else was there, it was perfect including the water temp. There was no shock factor. I would recommend The Old Stone Inn,

Yelp
We considered holding our wedding here and drove all the way to Niagara (we do not live in the area) to see the venue. We booked a walk through which we completed with a gentleman. We requested pricing and further information which is where our experience went downhill quickly. They assured us it would be emailed to us after the weekend (we had already been in contact with their event coordinator). Days went by without an email... so we followed up TWICE but we were completely ignored. What a waste of time and money it was driving out to see them and it was so unprofessional to just completely ignore us. We looked at quite a few potential venues and this place was by far the worst experience we had. Would not recommend them at all based on our experience.

Yelp
This is a ripp off. I bought the amazon local "deal". Room was terrible. They call it deluxe, higher up is superior and luxury for extra $$$. We ended up paying about $220 for the room with parking ($159 was the amazon voucher). We got a bottle of wine and coupons to wine tasting and chocolate factory tours (all these are near Niagara on the lake about 40 min drive north). Never used the restaurant discount as it was super pricey. Room was terrible, smelled musty and beds were very uncomfortable. Please avoid, not worth the "deal".

Yelp
A beautiful place, made under Alpine chalets. The suite was clean. Dined in a restaurant at the hotel I highly recommend oysters and pork tenderloin portions are quite large and if you do not eat much better order everything on sharing

Yelp
I'm a monster on customer service. I could not find fault at any time in any way during my stay. Excellent surroundings, extremely close to the falls and attractions. Staff was friendly and helpful. Especially, Brad at Bar 1904 in the hotel. He was extremely helpful and we held a delightful conversation. He made us feel welcome. The food was excellent and atmosphere wonderful. It was a very positive first time in Canada experience.

Yelp
Just stayed over night at the inn. Huge disappointment. This hotel is dark, outdated, room smelled like damp old house. Some staff showed attitude and unapologetic for closed pool and still demanded full facility fee. What a waste of money to upgrade a room. Definitely wont be returning.

Yelp
Pet friendly but NOT human friendly. We stayed here for 3 days for my brother's wedding and they treated us like crap. Even before we checked in, one of the planning Staff they call Abby treated us poorly just because we didn't hold our reception Dinner in the hotel. First, she blocked my mom's phone #, she called her 5 times and she won't pick up the phone but then when my mom used my # and they answered right away. Weird huh? Hidden fees EVERYWHERE! 18$ parking per night when there's 24hr parking outfront for 5$, $8 RESORT FEE for that teensy weensy embarrassment of a pool (looked like a kiddie pool to me!) and don't even bother buying drinks outside because they will charge you $25/night to get a fridge in your room. The bath was plugged up as soon as we came in, they deactivated our key cards on the second day and blamed us for putting it with our phones when in fact mine is in my wallet and my brother's in his pocket. Weird that all 3 deactivated at same time for being with a phone lol! We Will never stay here again! And we warned all our friends, relatives and coworkers not to stay here! Oh and they ARE definitely spreading the word :)

Yelp
Boutique no way. And restaurant was terrible. Paid way way way to much money for a terrible meal and terrible hotel. The decor in front lobby and restaurant are nice but shows a good home decorator not commercial grade that will be needed for longevity. It's showing it's wear and tear fast and going down faster. I do understand what it takes to run a restaurant and hotel. I am posting this because I was promised and paid a pretty penny for a product that is misrepresented to the fullest!! Stay some place else!!

Yelp
I'm not sure how people are giving poor reviews of this hotel, it was wonderful!! The room was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the staff were so good to us. I'd go back to this hotel in a heartbeat!!

Yelp
Very cute boutique hotel. Came across this from Groupon & impressed. Easy walk to the town & the falls. Rooms were clean with comfy beds (even though they allow pets, no smells / stench) very friendly staff. Food was delicious at restaurant. Pool was under construction which was disappointing but still a great stay. Very unique & fun & great price for convenience. Would recommend for somewhere different. Parking $19 /nt which isn't bad compared to most places in the US. Thanks for the great stay!
