Old Street Restaurant

I came here in June. I ordered a hamburger. It was delicious. And trust me, I'm a drinker. 🤣 The cocktails here are so good and delicious. I really want to go back there again. And the waitresses are so helpful. If you guys open late, I'll be the one to taste every cocktail until closing time! 😂

Excellent atmosphere and service. The desserts let the food down a little but overall a great night out in the heart of Malahide.

Just home from Sunday lunch and it was just faultless. Great menu, impeccable service and delicious food. I had the prawns for starter which were really good. I'd been looking forward to the roast beef all week and it didn't disappoint- perfectly cooked medium and the roast potatoes and veg were delicious. Without question, the best roast beef I've eaten while dining out. Dessert was also amazing and just the right size after a perfect meal. Wouldn't be doing the team justice if I didn't give a special mention to the staff who were all very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.

I finally got to visit Old Street yesterday evening and I can happily say the excited anticipation was justified. Everything about this place is done properly and the price was a lot more reasonable than expected! You visit Old Street for a culinary experience rather than just sustenance and that's exactly what I enjoyed. After a pint and a delicious Negroni from Tudor, Matt brought me the Octopus which was cooked to perfection and absolutely delish. Instead of a chunk of tentacle plonked on some pureed peas, chef Mario created a fabulous journey through your own taste buds with sweet and savoury sauces, hummus and pickled mushrooms. The staff are friendly and helpful and instead of being aloof or humble, they're on the guest's level. They're accessible and welcoming which was lovely. The setting itself is both rustic and ultra-modern at the same time. Old Street has effortlessly shot itself up to my top 5 restaurants and all I had was a pint, a cocktail, a starter and a 16 year old Lagavulin. Great job guys, thanks x

The food at Old Street is exceptional and warrants 5 stars from me. A lot of thought has gone into each element of every course, which sets your tastebuds alight. The service was also excellent and the waitress looked after our every need. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

Great restaurant. Lovely staff, not in your face but very attentive. The food is always really good. no ask is too much. Always accommodating. Atmosphere is always lovely with menu and decor changing with the seasons. Wine and drinks menu are always really good. Highly recommend. It is on the pricy side but worth it if you want a great meal and experience.

Good place for celebrating a special occasion, (this place is on the expensive side). Food was very nice, we had two different starters and 3 main courses to try different things. The tuna starter and the duck main were amazing, however the steak left a lot to be desired, considered it was 39€. We got all 3 desserts, they were ok, but none were that great. Portions are on the smaller side, but beautifully plated. The service was really great. We did not order any wine, only 1 beer, but the main, a mini dessert each and a starter to share came to more or less €50 per person.

I came here for Sunday lunch which was fantastic! They offer a beautiful stone building with hardwood floors and gorgeous amber lights. The food won be over with the soup! It was absolutely delicious and given that it changes, I don't know if they will have it again. The roast rib of Irish beef was fantastic. So was the spicy passion fruit and vanilla mocktail. The staff were happy, attentive, and I felt welcome from the moment I stepped through the door. What a fantastic way to share my birthday. I can't wait to go back and visit someday.

My wife and I are staying in Malahide for our anniversary. Walking about town, we stumbled across the Old Street Restaurant. The menu looked wonderful, so we came back at dinnertime. That's when we discovered that the recently re-opened restaurant is Michelin rated and books up fast! We were so happy when they agreed to let us have dinner with them- as long as we could vacate the table before the reserved customers arrived (1 1/4 hours). Not nearly enough time to sample more than a cocktail and main, but well worth it! The covktails were small but well crafted. The lamb I ordered and the linguini w/ aglio e olio were simply delicious! For dessert, theybrought out a tray of parfaits. I chose the cherry/amaretto and it was great. So happy we were able to enjoy such a wonderful meal on our anniversary.

I'll open this with the caveat that I had heard mixed reports and in light of dame I went with a perhaps tainted view. So in light of that I will be the first to admit that any bias I had were entirely misconstrued. The staff were excellent and professional and the service was perfect so no faults there. Onto the food. As a rule and depending on the restaurant I will tend to benchmark on the fillet mignon. It's hard to hide here and they meat is either quality and properly cooked or not. In this case it was excellent, however the mash on the side was even better and the onion was exceptional. So, in summary a quality establishment. Not the cheapest but still very good value for money and I'd be more than happy to return and spend my hard earned euros again. Kudos to the chef, kitchen staff, front of house and the owners. Well done to all!
