It's a Velasco Thing

Google
Absolutely loved this place all the shops are amazing with lots of great products at reasonable prices if you’re visiting Tucson it’s definitely a place to add to your list.

If you love trinkets, eclectic, retro, hand crafted, then this place is for you. You enter one door and you will be wandering through shop after shop taking up a whole city block. And Jo Jo's restaurant in the center didn't disapoint.

Very cool area tucked in to downtown Cincinnati. Recommend this area for lunch or snacks if you're visiting. Spent about 2 hours here.

Great store. Terrific staff. Mark and Becky. Really nice owner. Jo and her sons. Always a pleasure! Love the cat Lucky and the dog Shadow. Keep up the great work. Love shopping at your store and eating at Jo Jo's restaurant.Love the other stores as well. Kevin always calm. Beautiful outdoor atmosphere. 💯 A beautiful family Jo.

Google
This is a must stop while visiting Tucson! Tucson is known to have the stores somewhat spread out. The Old Town Artisans facility defies that! Within the building, several artists are located in the various rooms within the building. It flows as if you are walking from meandering rooms within a house. And, as a bonus, JoJo's Restaurant is in the center courtyard. We were super happy to discover that JoJo's has live music on most nights! Bonus!!

Google
Super cute area of shopping! Very unique handcrafted gifts for yourself or someone else. Silver jewelry, pottery, old records, paintings, clothing and leather goods...just to name a few! Great restaurant tucked inside the area. Definitely a spot to visit for a day trip,.

Google
Such a wonderful place with all sorts of wonderful things to buy. So much great art, for inside & out. Just one quick warning: you're going to want to buy so much😉! Enjoy!

I could spend hours wandering around these shops. There's a great variety of items for all budgets. My only regret is already having dinner plans elsewhere because the courtyard eating area looked so amazing.

Yelp
There are independent shops all over Tucson, but nowhere is quite as cozy as Old Town Artisans. With history dating back to the 19th century, Old Town further evolved into a quaint marketplace where different vendors- each with their own physical shop, operate under this big space with nice prices. My kid and I weaved in and out of the shops and even one or two eateries. There's a record shop, souvenirs, handmade Tucson products, ceramics, Native items and more. There's even a courtyard where you can lounge a bit and listen to live music. While my kid and I didn't spend too much time in each shop, Old Town A's ambiance is warm and inviting and were greeted by friendly owners eager to share the history about each of their wares.

Yelp
Old Town Artisans is the essence of Tucson exemplified in each and every store. A perfect place to find a gift for a loved one or yourself. Take a heart of the Sonoran Desert home with you and enjoy the artistry in every product!

Yelp
A worthy walk to a bunch of unique little shops in a one square block. A record shop, pottery, native American Arts& Jewelry, Vintage shop, hand painted tiles, Art, prints, some food. I will definitely return each time. I found a nice unique Birthday Gift here, some handmade Soaps and 2 Vintage Silver Brooches. All the staff here is so friendly and helpful and patient. The prices were very fair too.

Yelp
I really enjoy the old town artisans galleries, it's a really great spot to pick up some local art while visiting Tucson. I've only been to Tucson twice, but both times I did go find some little trinkets as well as a print or two. The whole thing is built like a maze and I believe it's a few different vendors throughout but a central location for paying. The area overall is really cute but I wasn't a fan of the restaurant that's part of this little area. There are much better places to eat around. Anyways, there's a ton of art and gifts here, the perfect place to stop and get some souvenirs or decor. I also really love the little dog that runs around. She's very sweet.

Yelp
If you find yourself in Tucson , I would highly recommend them especially if you love artistic and unique old stuff . Its a collection of different rooms which are shops and each room offers unique items from specialty vendors, and regions around the world , especially the southwestern US, Latin America and Mexico. Browse through a large collection of local and regional art, jewelry, Navajo rugs, clothing, ceramics and metalwork. When you do get tired there are restaurents and live music in the open space which offers a nice relaxed afternoon experience .

Yelp
Lots of items ranging from pottery and art to vinyl records. Everyone was friendly and the prices were fair. Great place!

Yelp
Has changed quite a bit since I lived there, but it is still a great place to spend time there. There is much to see. A huge shout out to Becky! She found the bag I left behind and went out of her way to do extra hunting. Many, many thanks, Becky @Old Town Artisans.

Yelp
One of my favorite places so far in Tuscon. There is a wide array of shops and art forms to peruse. Great place to view some of the local artists work! There is an adjoining courtyard with a restaurant and a pub as well.

Mike P.

Yelp
Lovely place, scenery is beautiful and food is delicious. Would 10/10 recommend......

Femita J.

Yelp
Amazing space full of delightful treasures. Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior of the building Because there are so many goods inside stashed in many nooks! So glad Yelp turned me on to this shopping wonder. By far, the best place we've found in Tucson for unique and cool gifts!!!

Margaret W.

Yelp
I enjoyed walking through. We picked up a few goodies. I love handmade, artisan items.

Audrey M.

Yelp
I had a great time browsing the unique shop galleries. It reminds me of a museum but with everything for sale. Locally made items from beautiful pottery pieces to jewelry to cards and blankets. Great gift shopping space and very nicely laid out.

Isabella J.

Yelp
Old Town Artisans is worth a visit whether you're a local or tourist. It's housed in one of the oldest neighborhoods on the city. The building itself makes for an enriching history lesson. Go there and you'll discover goods made by local artisans- from jewelry to hand painted pottery, vintage items and more. Make a day of it and eat at la Cocina for a light lunch in the courtyard.

Yelp
Great ambiance, wonderful artwork and loving people. Grabbed a drink there with my mom and went around the shops. The antique store is homely and filled with many treasures. There are storefronts with cultural artwork, indigenous pottery, and jams and jellies of all sorts. They have clothing and decorative art pieces for those with Sonoran and Western aesthetic. The vinyl shop has hidden gems of all sorts: music, comics, knickknacks. The patio area is lively and colorful. The lighting, trees, and mini stage for live performances perfectly stands as a hidden staple to the eclectic life that is Tucson. Have been coming here since 2015. I now live in Flagstaff and make it a goal of mine to come down and visit every chance I get.

Yelp
Such a cool place! It has something for everyone. Souvenirs, pottery, art, vintage items, and food all in one beautiful spot in the heart of the El Presidio neighborhood.

Ceora D.

Yelp
walking around these shops was such a fun experience. the staff member in the record shop was super friendly and helpful. i would definitely recommend going here to anyone that has a more eclectic taste for music or art!

Melissa D.

Yelp
Very cool spot to check out while in downtown Tucson. Outside is deceiving by how small it looks, but there are many treasures to find here. Everyone is nice and helpful. Will return soon!

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Super sweet place! Everything about it screams rustic, artistic, fun! It is a perfect place to find a unique gift, a beautiful piece of art or to be a little bit touristy. This is one of the places I always send new to Tucson people too because it shows a great side of Tucson most don't see unless they know where to look. Best of all it is right near the Tucson Museum of Art and a small cafe so you could make a day out of walking around in this beautiful area of Tucson.

Yelp
There's nothing like stalking a band in a Mel-esque way, and there's nothing like doing said stalking in a completely empty bar.... THAT SAID, I get the feeling that this place isn't always empty. In fact, I think they draw some pretty good crowds. The courtyard is to die for, and is perfect for enjoying a meal and basking in the sunshine. The bar portion is intimate and cozy, with gimmicky yet cute decorations like a gigantic Kokopelli art thing on the wall, complemented by the Guinness string lights. This area (along with the courtyard) also happens to play host to live music quite frequently. Excellent for said Mel-ish stalking. Some of my friends played here, and it was a pretty good venue. Also, the bartender/cook is a sweetheart. It'd been a super-long day, and I asked for an "amazing" margarita, and he delivered. It was a little tart, but it did the job and then some, if you know what I mean *nudge, nudge*. Oh, and I did I mention that this place is in historic downtown Tucson, among 150-year-old adobe buildings and such? Yeah, it pretty much rules.

Yelp
Just wanted to mention a new store near the Western entrance called "Blue Patchouli". It's a tiny but vibrant shop, dealing in fair trade merchandise. Some really cool stuff here and an awesome shopkeeper.

Yelp
Absolutely awesome! This is a spot for everything. Romance, family, friends, even business. The menu is very impressive (very worldly- from curry to spinach pie to pizza to mushroom pate to edamame hummus to gnochi) and very healthy. The portions are just right and do not break the budget! The service is outstanding and not pushy or slow. The perfect tempo to relax and enjoy yourself. The atmosphere is very impressive with indoor and outdoor seating. But believe me, sit outside in the courtyard. Stunning. And for you all that like to wet the whistle- LOCAL BEER AND WINE!!! And not expensive. Great in-house drink recipes as well. Find this little gem and you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
The bf and I had lunch at the cute Cafe a la C'Art at the Tucson Art Museum on a Saturday and stumbled upon these cute shops. The bf is not a shopper, but we were both entertained by the fabulous art for sale! A great after brunch walk. We did not go to La Cocina, but that is on the list.

Yelp
For a quick first trip I thought this was a great place to find interesting things (I went for native american turquoise jewelry) that would not be found in a mall. Fun shops, nice people. Will definitely go back when i have more time.

Ruth V.

Yelp
The outside patio is a charming place to while away a Friday evening, listening to free live norteno or jazz or bluegrass music. This is a welcome addition to downtown and a good alternative if there's an hour-long wait list at El Charro up the street (plus Old Town's patio is nicer). Nice beer and wine selections. The food is good, standard fare, with veggie options on offer, but it is nothing truly exceptional for Tucson. Go for the ambiance.

Gabi R.

Yelp
Just like Old town San Diego but smaller. It's cozy and has stores that has nice trinkets.

John K.

Yelp
If you can wait 45 minutes for an OK sandwich by all means check it out. The wait soured my day, I could not enjoy the charming inside patio.

J.O. T.

Yelp
This is a fine place for off the wall shopping. It has a great bar, the best outdoor seating in town and features some of the best music you will see anywhere, particularly with Stephen George, Tom Walbank and Greg Morton. It used to have great service and good food. Unfortunately, that has changed. I suggest that you go for the music and outdoor seating, and go straight to the bar and excellent barkeeps for your drinks and carry them to the table. If you wait for service, you might find out how long we have been in a major drought. Skip the food. There are many great places to eat downtown. This is not one of them. So, support your local musicians who play here, the great barkeeps and the fine outdoor seating, and cool little shops, and skip the rest. I would give it 5 stars for the outdoor seating area and the great barkeeps. And two stars for the food and management.

Christian M.

Yelp
Second best Margerittas in town. When we showed up they were playing fun local live music.

Gaby M.

Yelp
I believe they have limited hours but this is a fun getaway for lunch on a beautiful day. You get to sit in a courtyard with trees and flowers underneath the birds and enjoy a healthy lunch. I have been going here for years and it is always a nice treat.

Eloise S.

Yelp
In town for a conference last January and one of our group members Marilee made a reservation for all of us at La Cocina, 24 of us! We had the most fabulous time. The owner set us up on the upper patio, lights in all the trees, heat lamps to keep warm and music. The atmosphere was incredible. The food was great, service fantastic and the owner such a kind and wonderful woman. Really went out of her way to make our experience special. Highly recommend for large groups. Could not of had a better time.

Bebe D.

Yelp
this is not the place to go for souvenirs. this is where you go if you want over-priced handmade pieces of art and objects. the art is very nice and we found many things we "wanted" but nothing, absolutely nothing we would spend that much money on.

Abbe G.

Yelp
Absolutely a must stop and see places in Tucson! Great unique shops and artwork! Quaint patio and food and drink. One of a kind and truly enjoyable.
