The apartment we stayed in was even nicer in real life than the pictures showed. We were very happy about our stay, and the staff was very service-oriented and accommodating to our needs. We could check in a little bit earlier than usual, and also leave our luggage for some hours after checking out, while we were strolling around in the old town before taking out bus back to Helsinki. Thank you for a wonderful comfortable stay!

Very cute B&B along the river in Porvoo, Finland. I stayed in the Star Room, which is a bit separated from the main property. Owner knocked on the door as I arrived. He apparently also owns the nearby restaurant Ranta-aitta, which had its commissary and bathrooms across from the property. Be aware this property and its windows all face an alley that will have fairly heavy foot traffic in the afternoon/evening hours because of the restaurant. I immediately drew all the blinds when I entered the unit. Other than that privacy inconvenience, the location is fantastic, right on the main strip of the old town of Porvoo. Inside the unit you have a nicely functional kitchen and washer/dryer (which I used and was very convenient). There's two bathrooms, one with a shower and one without. Shower is a bit small and confining, but solid. The chairs in the kitchen were not super comfortable and the wifi didn't reach the bedroom very well, so if you need to do something online for a decent amount of time the unit isn't the most ergonomic solution for this situation. There is a piano in the unit! I did not play or know if it was actually encouraged but it's something to consider. There is access to a sauna that's across the street from the main property, which I used. Its heat doesn't get much higher than 60-70ºC but with plentiful water you can get enough steam for a good sweat. Breakfast was solid.

We stayed one night in a private villa in Porvoo old town (accommodation was changed the day before due to unexpected and unfortunate things that surprised also the provider). The villa was located in a very quiet neighborhood north from the Cathedral and was very clean. Private parking. The smallish villa had all sorts of amenities, though I'm not sure if all of them was for the use of a quest (e.g. washing machine was 'not in use'). Bathroom was very nice. Because of the sudden change in our booking, we we're offered a free breakfast at the B&B main building; it was very good and versatile. Friendly staff.||||Originally we booked accommodation on a private boat that is moored on the bank of Porvoo river. The boat broke down day before our arrival so we were instead offered to change the accommodation to a private villa. Of course this is something no one can really blame the owner, but we we're really excited to stay night at the river. Bummer. ||The villa was otherwise quite nice but the bed at the loft was super hot during the night. Lack of proper air ventilation. Steep ladder to the loft was no problem for us but persons with bad legs might want to choose another place to stay. A bit pricey.

The room was boiling hot which I can imagine would be super uncomfortable on really warm days, and it was uncomfortable for us on a 17 degree day. 1 bathroom between 4 bedrooms that can host anywhere between 8 to 12 people! So there were long queues all the time to use it. The shower is in the sauna so if someone is using the sauna you can't shower.||||Breakfast was nice when we were able to eat it. We booked breakfast both days at 9am and on the second day there was no space for us at all. The staff ignored us the 3 times we came down between 9 and 9.25. We later found out they complained that breakfast was a mess because we came at the wrong time (despite us booking this time on our first evening and going at that time on our first morning!!).||||There was no space for parking cars, and it was difficult to find somewhere to park for the whole day we were at an event.||||We paid €250 for 2 nights for 2 people. Our friend was staying in a satellite location of guesthouse with his own sauna, bathroom, double bed and river view for €190 despite booking after us! Other friends paid €85 per night for 2 people. This is essentially a hostel with limited facilities. We definitely feel we were ripped off.||||The location is in the old town which is really nice to walk around (not for cars). That was the only thing we really liked about this property.||||Would I stay here again, or recommend to a friend? No.

Staying at Ida-Maria was like visiting a friend. They texted on front about our arrival time and showed the way to our cute little one bedroom apartment. There was a possibility for sauna, which we didn’t use this time. It certainly was a great bonus especially now as it is -20 degrees celsius our side. We we’re so happy that they had arranged oat milk and oatgurt for breakfast only for us as we are vegan - such a nice gesture, which made us feel like we we’re important to them. The breakfast was very jice with oatmeal, different sorts of breads, bread toppings, waffles (not vegan) and fruits. Totally recommend ♥️

We (two adults) stayed at Ida-Maria in Jan/2021 for two nights in ”Pieni huoneisto, puutarhanäkymä”. The room was lovely, cozy and clean. Delicious breakfast and very good service! All of this in the heart of Porvoo Old Town. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

This quiet and comfortable B&B is in a fantastic location right on the old town square and overlooking the river. Maggie is a friendly and welcoming host. We had a large double room upstairs with a lovely river view. The shared bathroom with one other room was very clean and modern. ||||Breakfast was a nice continental spread with fresh baked croissants.||||||Old Porvoo is delightful with its cobbled streets, beautiful church and river walks. Highly recommend spending a night or two here!

We stayed one night in the small attic room, main building. It was cosy and comfy, but a bit hot even though it wasn't too warm a day. If you are sensitive for noise, this isn't something for you since the rooms are very close to each other and share a bathroom. Decent breakfast with croissants, eggs, yoghurt etc either on the garden terrace or inside.
