Old Town Books

Absolutely enjoyed the ambiance when my kids and I walked in! The owner was very cordial and they offer discounts to educators and military personnel!

My wife and I have been looking for a local bookstore. This place is directly off the road, with parking shared with the building next door. Parking is very limited but has nearby parking if needed and you are able to walk. The bookstore had that great bookstore smell when you walk in. They have the top books listed and descriptions listed on some of the books. They have some display tables, places to sit a while, a great children's section and clean restrooms. The workers there were helpful and nice. If you are looking to support local business and get some new books check this place out.

Love this place. I visit every time I'm in San Angelo. Great selection for a small bookstore and awesome staff. If you love a good bookstore like I do, absolutely give this one a visit.

I love OTB for what it is. It's the best book store (and really, the only one for new books). The staff is so welcoming, story time is phenomenal, and they host so many great events. However, I personally find the selection lacking and the atmosphere isn't what I prefer for a book store, its always loud which can make browsing difficult. I'll still always try to buy my books here first though! They're an amazing part of our community

We absolutely LOVED old town books!!! Its the perfect little nook for book lovers. The space is simple but elegant, they had a good selection of books, free coffee (with recyclable cups which I think is awesome) and their kids area is amazing. My kids loved sitting on the bean bag seats, and my oldest just sat and read and had a blast in there while I browsed the store. They have an outside sitting area which was really nice for a sunny fall day. The whole store was well decorated, along with the antique beautiful furniture pieces, the owner threw in her personal touch with pictures of famous novels hanging on the walls. I seriously love everything about the place. I use to love Hastings book store and my husband and I used to go on coffee dates there while I shopped for books. I've been missing a store similar to that, but Old Town Books is even better. It had a cozy and homey feel about it that I love, and it is officially my new favorite spot downtown.

I love Old Town Books. It’s very cute and cozy, but has a huge selection. Pretty much anything new and hot on the bestsellers list, they will have. Anything buzzy your friends are talking about, they will have, as well as a large curated selection of classics and more niche books. Anything they don’t have, they will happily order for you. I try to get all my books through OTB to make sure we continue to have such a cool independent book store in San Angelo. I cherish the bookish conversations I get to have with the employees and the other book shoppers.

I’ve come here a couple of times and love this place. They’re a great local business and are definitely a little charm of San Angelo. I recommend this place to anyone. They’re also great about getting books in if they don’t already have them. Come check them out!

Staff are all knowledgeable and friendly without being pushy. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the selection is great. They have all the newest top picks and are quick with recommendations if you welcome those! I have never met such genuinely happy, kind, inviting staff at a store in all my life. I can go in and browse for an hour and then only buy a bookmark and they don't mind at all. There's a great fireplace to sit next to, candy buckets out for snacks, free coffee and cocoa, and the staff are always happy to talk books. They're also great about doing community and local events and are very kid-friendly!
