Old Town Hostel

Our less favorite hostel in Portugal, it’s still ok. Bunk beds are 3 high with bars that hurt your feet a lot. All common areas close at midnight. There is really not enough space in the room to put suitcases. The lockers are also very small. The kitchen is really small to cook properly. The staff was really nice and we still enjoyed our time there, but not a big ambiance. I recommend you to take another hostel:)

Location is amazing, you can walk anywhere, but itˋs not right in the middle of the busy area of Lagos. People there are really really lovely. Social gatherings are cheap and done with the sol a sol hostel which has a rooftop area. Old Town Hostel feels like the living room of a very big and busy family, there are quite a few couches and it‘s so small that you very quickly know everyone who is there with you. It can be noisy at times. I had a blast! 🫶🏻

One of the most relaxed hostels I’ve been to! The staff are sooo welcoming, it really is like a shared home. Everyone treats it like a home, easy to socialise and relax. They always have ‘events’ on daily and family dinner every night for cheap. The guys who work there are so easy to get on with and love to banter and make sure guests have everything they need while making themselves at home too *cough**cough* napping on the sofas … I mean working really hard ;)) if you prefer bigger hostels with a hotel vibe this isn’t the one for you but if you like a home away from home with friendly faces and a homely feel, definitely stay here. They all say it’s hard to leave old town and it genuinely is sad to leave the family you make here <33

Amazing!! Cant say enough good things. Clean, comfortable, welcoming, 20 somethings with good vibes! 3 bathrooms all with showers so you'll never have to wait too long. In a hotspot/lots of similar hostels nearby so the bars are always fun. Common rooms are perfect for getting to know fellow travellers. I stayed in the female dorm and it was very cute and clean. The place is cleaned and disinfected once per day and kept pretty tidy by the people there. The workers were awesome!

This hostel is overall pretty good. Definitely a very social hostel and is a party hostel for sure so keep that in mind if that’s not what you’re looking for! Overall good but it is very very small and the door is left unlocked all night and there are no locks on the doors of the rooms. So just be careful with valuables! I had a great time and met some really cool people :)

The best hostel in all of Portugal, the boys who run it are super nice and accomodating to everyone. The rooms and bathrooms are always clean and the vibe is always immaculate, stayed 8 nights but could’ve stayed longer!

This hostel was great! The location was perfect to be close to all the shops and restaurants but also the beach. Filipe was wonderful throughout our stay and gave us a ton of recommendations, like which beaches were best and where we could find food after all the restaurants closed. Overall great experience!

New hostel, opened in June 2017. Has very spacious rooms, which is a real bonus for a hostel. Makes it easier to share the space with other people and enjoy a wonderful holiday on a low-budget. The position is right in the heart of the city, which makes it great for for day and night time activities. The personnel is nice, kind and always happy to help. I will definitely come back again. In total it has been one of the best experiences of my trip to portugal!
