We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Old Tucson. It is a must while visiting Tucson! It is a historic studio and theme park that truly recreates a feel of the Old West. It was built in 1939 for the movie Arizona. Hundreds of movies have been filmed here. Once you visit, we will notice its use in many movies and TV shows. We recommend the historical tour which is led by a knowledgeable guide.

Oh my gosh this place was magical. It was a winter wonderland, with so many things to do. The lights were so beautiful I just thought about the care and thought they put into making it a wonderful experience. They also have a petting zoo with goats and pigs. It’s a great place to create memories with your loved ones.

Google
This place is great for all ages. The shows were great. Everyone enjoyed our visit. The stage coach, train, petting zoo, and carousel were some of our favorite things.

We are completely in love of Old Tucson. After living for almost 10 years in Tucson we decided to buy the anual pass and it is really worth it (short line in busy days, unlimited no alcoholic drinks and much more). Every time is a different experience. You can enjoy with family, friends and love ones. They have different options of food, drinks and multiple restrooms around the area.

Google
Had a wonderful tour and tour guide, tour lasted about an hour and was quite informative with the history of western movies that were filmed here. Only thing we were disappointed with was when we talked to people who did this tour before said how did you like the costume room where John Wayne's pants were displayed, I said that they never showed us that room 🙁 Still enjoyed it.

The Yule Tide Christmas event at Old Tucson is hands down the most immersive, magical and awesome Christmas event I've ever been to. The staff is absolutely wonderful and you're instantly transported to a western winter wonderland where Christmas dreams come true, from train and carriage rides to meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus. Worth every cent of admission and the drive out there. Please support this amazing event so it'll be around for years to come.

Google
We drove over 40 minutes to come to this tourist attraction only to find out that they were closed! We were not the only ones either. Google hours are not updated at all. Conveniently, only the gift shop was open. So disappointing. It looks like it would've been a great place to visit in Tucson. The ride up is a bit gnarly. Kind of hanging off a cliff. Small and narrow roads in the middle of nowhere. Would've been totally worth it to be able to get in and take a tour. Super bummed!!

Google
Old Tucson is the place many classic western movies were filmed. Old Tucson was a mixed bag of excitement and disappointment. The Old Tucson Website let us down by not making it apparent on its homepage the park is closed during the summer. No food, no rides, no games, no gunfights, and no entertainment during the summer months. The saving grace is a fabulous tour given by a wonderful guide for $20 per person. This gives you the history of this famous movie set. The photo opportunities without the crowds were nice. The website home page not saying tours only during the summer drops this review from a 5 star to a frustrated 4-star review.

Yelp
It was such fun . Scary, n well decorated for Halloween, Fright night. They had ghouls and goblins. All over the park w music playing n smoke coming out in all directions. We also had a chance to get on the rides n the petting zoo was open . Food pretty much around the park. Souvenirs. Stores were also open . I would say we all had a great time together. Thumbs up Old Tucson .

Yelp
Loved nightfall this year. Scary and lots of great shows like the magic shows and petting zoo. They also brought bar the old vintage cars and the haunted houses are scarier than ever. They also offer scare me not necklaces for kids to wear so the actors know not to scare or go near the kids. We took advantage of the photos they offer and took some photos with Dabney the clown. We also enjoyed some great food and drinks. The gift shop offers lots of great merch. I can't wait to be back for the holidays. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Nightfall 2025! Went for the first time after living in Tucson for 25 years. Yes I'm a looser! Went with a group of friends to just hang out, have some food and have a few! Good time for sure. The talent was great and the fright level was perfect for me. If you want to be really scared this isn't it. Did all the haunted houses and I got jump scared a few times, but I was walking last in the group. Small trick to miss most of the jump scares. We were there from 5 to close and there were a few attractions we didn't get to see. Crowd was good for a Friday, no idiots doing drunk stuff. Didn't wait in any line more than 10 minutes. They keep the attractions moving good. Will make it an annual thing now. Kinda sad I waited so long to go. Support our local attractions and local talent!

Yelp
Spouse and I were the only two people on the 8:30am tour. Tour guide was informative but only took us to a few buildings. No tour tram running, no gunfight show, no restaurants open, not allowed free time to walk around. Kinda disappointing.

Nicole T.

Yelp
This is specific to Nightfall only. It was a huge disappointment, especially when compared to what it used to be years ago. Most of what made it worth going is gone now. It felt very amateur and low effort, not that fun or engaging and not scary at all. It seems to be much more family-oriented now, so it might be fun if you're going with kids as a family activity. I definitely wouldn't recommend it otherwise as far as haunted houses or the shows or value for the money.

Yelp
If you love old movies, history stuff this place is for you! I'm a total nerd for these things. Anything that gives old timey, nostalgia or ghost town vibes I am so in! Located smack dab in the middle of nowhere , where nothing but the sun to best you down you're in the right place, located outside of Tuscon Mountain Park, the drive in is a nice one. If you ask why I came it was solely to see The Little House on the Prairie Chapel. Unfortunately you can see it and get pictures farther back you cannot go inside or get too close due to it being damaged a ways back. There are live shows and plenty of other old sets from westerns etc. they have a carousel, petting zoo, train ride and more. There is a restaurant and ice cream shop as well as souvenirs of course. Down side it's ridiculously priced. For my husband and I and two teenagers it was over $120 and that is the general admission without the rides etc which would've put us at nearly $200. So if you're a huge fan of movie sets, have money to waste and atleast 3-4 hours to spend this is for you, I think it's one and done for me, but I still think it was worth it to see this once, it's little house on the prairie come on now !

Yelp
This place was whack. I wouldn't recommend going here. Go to Tombstone instead. The Saguaro National Park (SNP) opens at 9am but this place doesn't open until 10:30am which is a nuisance because they are right next to each other. We were on a day trip to Tucson from Phoenix. We visited the SNP at 9am but had to go into Tucson to wait for Old Tucson to open. We swung by Old Tucson in the afternoon on the way home. It was open but there were only a few cars in the lot. I didn't quite know what to expect but I pretty much expected it to be like an old western town that you could walk through and go to unique shops. It wasn't like that at all. The entrance was all boarded up and you couldn't get in. They had one store open at the front but there was nothing I wanted to buy in there. I saw that they had tours but the next one wasn't until 1.5 hours after when we were there and it was full. It's not like you can really wait around to go on tours because there's nothing to do and it's 100+ degrees outside. Super lame and disappointing. We did take a picture in front of the sign just to say we've been here.
google avatar

Yelp
If you are a fan of Western movies or tv shows this is the place for you. Many John Wayne movies were filmed here and the surrounding area as were episodes of Gunsmoke and Little House on the Prairie to name a few. The guide was very informative and it was so neat walking the old streets visiting the movie sets.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a must see for all ages. A part of our cinema culture that shouldn't be missed. Fabulous and knowledgeable staff. The entertainment team works hard in desert conditions to bring western story telling to life. There are some air conditioned buildings but there is a lot of out door as well. Filming is still done here. The ride to this location takes you through gates pass which is beautiful as well. I cannot comment on the food as we didn't eat anything but there are plenty of options and the ice cream looked great.

Yelp
We left Tombstone early so we could make it to Old Tucson. We drove out of our way and were excited to visit. When we got there we quickly realized it wasn't open, despite the gift shop being open, and Google maps showing it open. This would have been just a bummer had the young person working not raised her voice at my dad when he expressed his frustration and asked why it wasn't noted anywhere that they were closed, including the website. He traveled from Florida and had been excited about visiting Old Tucson for months and was obviously disappointed. A simple apology would have done wonders, but no. Either update your website, or anticipate more upset want-to-be customers.

Yelp
We stopped by to check out old Tucson and the guide tour. The guided tour was awesome! Our guide knows his movies and all about the movies filmed on set. The town, due to Halloween, had some decorations but didn't take away from the cool movie set. So many movies are filmed here. Tombstone, Little house on the prairie, Rio bravo with John Wayne, Joe kid and Outlaw Josey Wales, 3 Amigos, Cannon ball run, young guns 2. There are too many to mention. We were shown props, which were pretty good and realistic. Walking the set was amazing, especially when you think of all the stars that have walked before you. Was a fun day! It's worth the trip! Check it out!

Yelp
We were recommended to check this place out and glad that we did. For a single admission price, you have access to so many events and activities. You can start off with a Group tour guide who will explain the history and film production in this area. Afterwards, there are plenty of areas to explore and many shows at certain times to catch. They do a lot of crowd participation, so be sure to wear clothes that'll help make you stand out like we did! There are also restaurants, a petting zoo, carousel, train and wagon rides. We had a lot of fun and laughs. We really enjoyed our time here and highly recommend you checking it out.

Yelp
We went to nightfall 10-10-25 it rained pretty hard so very muddy. Their power went out and we thought it would get worked out but never did. We were then escorted out with the option of a refund or com ticket meaning we could get a ticket for another day. Although there ticket policy states, "non- refundable" ticket, they allowed refunds for this particular matter. We got food at one of the stands that were selling elotes, pork chops, turkey legs, etc. The staff were a bit rude to my family and others that were behind us. Maybe they had a bad day, not sure, but not a good experience.

Yelp
We went last month for Yuletide, it was our first time visiting Old Tucson. Tickets were slightly pricey, but it included all of the shows, train ride, hayride, etc. so I think it evened out for the cost to get in. I'd say we were there for three and a half to four hours. They had holiday decorations & lights up, there were elves and carolers that helped bring you the holiday spirit. We had arrived just a few minutes before they opened & the line to get in was massive, but thankfully as soon as the opened the line moved pretty quickly so we weren't waiting in line forever. I thought the little museum they had with a lot of old movie props & information from films & shows that were filmed at the location was pretty neat. It was also cool being able to see the black smith working right in front of everyone. The opening ceremony with Santa was fantastic, the only thing I would say they could change is maybe have some kind of rope or paint line in the dirt to show where everyone needs to be standing for it. People were spread kind of all over & when the staff started corralling everyone to where they needed to be there were a lot of rude people shoving and cutting in front of people trying to get the people who were already in the proper spot out of the way. I felt like they had a lot to offer/do during the Yuletide event. There were quite a few shows to watch, a small hay maze for kids, a theatre showing classic holiday movies, a trivia game for kids, a carousel, story time with Mrs. Clause, Photos with Santa, a holiday sing along hayride, a train ride and more. All of the staff we had interacted with were friendly & helpful. The stunt show didn't have anything overly wild, but the actors are what made the show fun to see, we enjoyed the show & had a great time. We didn't try any of the food options at Old Tucson so I can't comment on the price or how good the food was. I only gave it four stars as some of the prices in the gift shop & candy store were a bit high and on top of a semi pricey ticket to get in might make it harder for some families to be able to afford a trip. A tiny piece of fudge was $10 for plain & other treats and merch were pretty up there was well. Other than that we are glad we were able to visit & see what Old Tucson had to offer for the holiday season.

Yelp
Unfortunately we came in during the off season. Right now they only offer the walking guided tour which is really interesting. If you're a big fan of Western or cowboy movies, this place is a must for you to visit. We learned so much about the old Western movies that were really popular from the past. The tour guide is really informative. If you're planning to visit during this hot season make sure you put on your sunblock, wear a hat and bring water. We are looking forward to their Winter season attractions. Also they have this souvenir shop at the gate, and they have lots of interesting stuff to buy.

Yelp
The Ghost Tour (not to be confused with Nightfall) is 10/10! Without spoiling too much, you tour the park with an intimate group with nothing but lanterns to light an otherwise dark desert. The stories were informative, spooky, and the host was charismatic. One of the better ghost tours I've been on!

Joseph A.

Yelp
They say they are open online. There are staff there. But it's not open. My dad is an old movie buff and he was so disappointed. They argued with him and said it says it's closed online. It doesn't. The mid 20s girl raised her voice to my elderly father because he said "why doesn't it saying anything online about being closed?" She called security. It was a mess. They're just doing ghost BS now. My dad wanted to see the locations where great movies were filmed! Please do not patronize these people! Go to tombstone.

Yelp
Opening Day of the well anticipated new season. I visited Old Tucson in the 80s and enjoyed it alot. Good memories. I understand they hit hard times in the timeframe before Covid, and then the pandemic ended their long run. Of course things are more expensive, but the "feel" remains authentic. The local actors work hard, have camaraderie, and generally seem to be having fun. We sure did. We came at 1045 and left at 330. Bathrooms were plentiful , updated, and well maintained. Great job. Our tour docent was well versed in the movie history of the set. Excellent all around. Good job to the county for their response ownership and hiring a competent park operator. Make sure you check the website for hours and activities. The drive in is excellent.

Yelp
It was amazing, learning and family time. The shows were great. The was good . Family had a great time. It a great place to learn about history and have a family time.

Yelp
We enjoyed it. Brought back some memories of "Old Tucson". Wish there was a little more "movie" history, but all in all it was fun. There was a horse and cart ride to the High Chaparral. Train rides. Shows in the Palace and in front of the Mission! There are stores, places to eat and drink. I hope it continues. It was a fun day!

Lisa E.

Yelp
In general, I enjoy Old Tucson studios. The stunt show is fun. They have a few rides for younger kids. In the past, I'd enjoyed Nightfall in October and Old Timey Holidays in December. However, I was shocked by the stunt show at Nightfall this year (2025). I expected violence and even some blood and gore. It is a Halloween themed stunt show after all. But it was sexual innuendo after sexual innuendo. Every third word was a swear. They were insulting to each other and the audience. They included over the top potty humor. I've brought my kids before and never regretted it, but this year I was mortified they experienced that. It was cheap adult humor aimed at drunk adults. There were warning signs everywhere about violence and gore. At the beginning of the show they warned people there was violence and those who are easily offended should leave, but nothing anywhere warned about the sexual content. They talked about power bottoms and buying Plan B. One invited the women to meet him in room 369 and bring a friend. They constantly acted out humping and referenced anal sex. It was so incredibly inappropriate and there was no warning about that. I will never risk bringing children to that again. Which is disappointing because sure we all enjoyed it in the past.

Maya W.

Yelp
Nightfall - We went on the discounted Thursday night, $35 per person, otherwise other nights it's $50 per person. Keep in mind there is at least one attraction that used to be included in entry price that is now a separate purchase which is the maze that the past 2 years has been the last slightly entertaining attraction. The main show was unfortunately not funny at all and a bit hard to follow. To justify spending so much on tickets when going in a group it'd be nice to see more effort put into the scariness so everyone in my party could have fun. It seems old Tucson is much less of a haunt since it's been bought out, and they don't quite know how to balance family friendliness and scares. There is the addition of the petting zoo which made me a bit sad, yet is where I had the most fun. My friend got a sandwich and Mac and cheese and it was entirely inedible, we asked for a refund and she told us it was hard to do a refund and we could just have something else, but the food was already making my friends stomach turn (which became the end to our night). After we asked for a refund the cashier struggled to find our purchase and we had to wait 10 minutes for someone else to show up and help her with the refund. Luckily all I had was fries which were fine. I would not recommend Nightfall to anyone who asks anymore unfortunately, it is not worth what you have to pay.

Chris S.

Yelp
This was a fun place to visit especially if you watch old westerns. Not as big as it used to be but I still enjoyed it
google avatar

Maiko K.

Yelp
Nightfall - Had an absolutely amazing time. A little tired from running and screaming well organized and many scary houses. I was actually surprised how many there were. Actors did a great job!!! I saw bad reviews in previous year but I am happy for them that I see more good comments this year. I can't compare because this was my first time but I highly recommend it. There are many haunted house events throughout the country during Halloween season but the setting in Old Tucson is unique. Regular season - I've been to Old Tucson during regular season and it is fun also. It's a must visit place if you are a Western movie fan. I didn't grow up watching it but still enjoyed it. My in-law from Peru were big fans and they both loved it!

Yelp
We went to the Haunted Tour on 6/15. Or tour guide was awesome & very knowledgeable. We got way more than we expected. He gave us lots of history about Old Tucson in addition to the great ghost tour. My daughter & I went & quickly realized we would have to come back with her Dad & her boyfriend due to the history of the place. Do yourself a favor & check it out.

Yelp
We were lucky to be in the area during their Yuletide celebration. Everything looked so pretty. Visiting the park is a must if you are a fan of Western movies. We didn't expect the extra touch of Christmas but we loved it. However, the best part of the experience was the people. Everyone was very nice, customer service was great everywhere, but a few of them really shined. Tristan from the gift shop: Such a nice young man, extremely helpful. I went in for one ornament on arrival. We ended up buying a bunch of things by the end of the night, even if we didn't see him the second time we went into the gift shop (I'm wearing my hoodie today). Blacksmith Richie: He is so entertaining. Children and adults were watching him work. He was making magic wands at the moment we started watching. He made a pretty hair pin with a nail. He is skilled, informative, funny, and even handsome! Very kind and engaging with everyone watching. Mrs. Claus: She was adorable. All the kids were so into the story. Very sweet and entertaining. The setting of her room was so nice and cozy too. Santa's elf at the mine: Her enthusiasm, her make up and outfit, her performance; all of her said "festive and happy". Definitely recommend visiting the park. I also recommend Christmas bonuses for all the awesome staff.
google avatar

Riley B.

Yelp
went on the historical movie tour. Our guide was amazing and was an actor himself. Definitely recommend reading up on some of the movies filmed there prior to your tour.

Yelp
Took out of town Military family to see market night. Rude Horrible teen staff members. Should not work around people I will be posting full interaction on YouTube and tic Tok. Get new staff. Trip advisor let's you leave a pic for heads up.

Yelp
Don't bother. Waste of money!!! Nothing open. No activities. Most of the 'town' is shut down. One short walking tour where guide talks about movies that anyone under 50 never heard of. No food. Did get to pay $4.00 for a 99 cents bottle of water. Nothing on the website is going on except the one short walk. Several asked for a refund. (Denied of course) I gave it a one star only because I couldn't post a negative score
google avatar

Yelp
My boyfriend and I bought tickets to the Yuletide at Old Tucson event and went last weekend. We had a wonderful time! I had never been to Old Tucson and always wanted to see it. Unfortunately by the time I moved to Arizona it was closed down due to Covid. Thankfully though, it's back up and running with themed events. They did a great job decorating the area for Christmas. The actors for the townspeople were very friendly and eager to make sure everyone had a good time. Their next themed event is in Spring for the Ol West. Can't wait to go again. Thanks for a lovely time!
google avatar

Lunna C.

Yelp
Old Tucson is not a bad place to visit. It's a dusty ol' town that makes you feel like you're right there in the old wild west. Make sure you do the wagon ride and train ride because you get to see some things that are off limits to walking. The mine attraction was pretty fun. Our tour guide tried his best to add drama. The shows are good; I liked the outdoor shows the best. The food is pricy and there isn't much there if you're on a vegan diet. I'm gluten free and had the chicken leg meal with chips and potato salad. I had no reaction, so all went well. We spent about 4 hours here. There was one last show, but we got tired of waiting around so we just left. The admission price is kind of steep for what few attractions they have to offer.
google avatar

Paula E.

Yelp
It's been 5 years since we first came here and a lot has changed since then and certainly not for the better. I'm hoping the glory days aren't behind them. We only attended once 5 years ago. I know they suffered from the pandemic and damage to the area. My favorite attraction is no longer going (Eddie's diner was my absolute favorite). Boo!! We had timed tickets but so does everyone else and we still had to wait about 30 minutes to get in. Once inside we should have headed to the train ride because that was the other attraction I really liked and getting there at 6pm and the park closing at 11 or so we should have been able to ride it! Not so fast! After attending the two (lame) shows we got in line to do the rides. When we got to the train they had stopped the line and would not allow us to wait. So we got in line for another attraction only to return to the train where they told us again "the line is too long come back in 1/2 hour". Ok..... so for the second time we were turned away and we returned twice more with EVEN longer lines and the rude security guard again told us that the train breaks from 10 to 10:30 and then is only open for 45 more minutes after that so no guarantee we would get in. IF we had been allowed to wait when we first arrived at the train we would have gotten on. Crowd control is a real problem and since there are fewer attractions then before they need to do a better job of timing everything. We ended up riding the carousel and called it a night but on a downer note, No spooky characters roaming around. Oh and did I mention I paid for parking online yet it seemed they didn't even charge for parking! Very expensive and NOT worth the cost.
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. I'm not sure how something that was revamped is not better so don't go in expecting high outcomes. They have the same events but less this year, only two shows. Don't expect people walking around or any kind of Halloween decorations to include lights. The train drops you off halfway in the desert, you sit down in a church only to be shuffled out and walk back to town. The train was at least a 45 minute wait!!! Only one train!?!? The other attractions they had (6) to include family friendly are okay! Not scary! No one around town and poorly decorated! I'm not sure what the new owners were thinking of having a mystery you need to solve at night! Makes the experience rather confusing. $45 a person for premium pricing!!! The food is basic and ranges $5 to $13! They didn't have the gargoyles even though when I asked they said they had them when you first walk in. They take your photo but to pay for the print it's at least $27! Yikes!

Yelp
I had an absolutely great time here yesterday. I had come three years in a row to Tucson and had hoped the old studios would reopen one day. I didn't see an ads for Old Tucson, but noticed cars in the parking lot! I visited Saturday morning. First off, I took the train ride, then took the hose drawn cart ride. I wanted to hear about what was filmed here - my entire purpose for visiting. As a kid, I was a huge High Chaparral fan (as well as Rawhide & Wagon Train). I was bummed when told that the High Chaparral set was closed for a private party, as that was my main reason for visiting. Well, one of the folks working heard me lamenting and told me to come with him and he would walk me to the set. I think his name was John and that he is the Old Tucson historian. His kindness made my visit!!! Everyone working there was extremely kind. I happened to speak a while with the costumer/clothier and found it super interesting since I had college friends who had careers doing the exact same thing. Even in the "mercantile" the employee chatted it up. I watched the gun fight, even though the shows aren't my thing. I was there for the film history. I really, really hope the park continues to grow and is once again a grand place to visit.

Eric S.

Yelp
10/05/2024 Nightfall. This place sucks, don't waste your time or $50 per person entry. The shows and attractions weren't entertaining, and the food/drink prices rivaled Disneyland. What a joke- never again.
google avatar

Kathy A.

Yelp
We have not been to Old Tucson in 35 years and this was so much fun! The re-creators were wonderfully talented and the historian giving us a historical movie tour was funny and informative. It's definitely a 'to do' if in the Tucson area.
google avatar

Yelp
A surprisingly fun way to spend half a day or more - a taste of the Old West and a walk through Western TV and Movie History. We are in our late 60s and we had a great time! The stunt show, gunfight, and western follies were all top notch (think Universal Studios caliber), which we hadn't expected out in the middle of the dessert. The place is under new ownership and they seem to be doing it right. Everything is included (very rare) - except food and drink. Even the wagon ride, train, carousel, petting zoo are all part of your entrance. Be sure to spend time in the museum where you can learn about the hundreds of beloved TV shows and movies that were filmed on site - you are literally walking through a piece of screen history. Go early so you can see all three shows, do the rides, go through all the buildings, play the games, read all the history and get a snack. You could rush through in 3-4hrs, but to get it all in plan on 5-6,hrs and enjoy a piece of Old West Americana and Hollywood.

Yelp
An ok experience not worth the money. I never had the experience of going to Nightfall before COVID so my assessment is purely based on what it was without comparison to previous iterations. I genuinely thought it was a fun experience, Old Tucson at night is beautiful, we had a couple of drinks and took in the attractions. Yes, lines were long, but find a Halloween attraction where that isn't the case. I had great company so we talked and made our own fun while waiting. The drinks were expensive but again I expected that. Where I was very disappointed was the cost of food and tickets for what the experience provided. It was insane how much they charged. At 1/2 the cost I would have left a 4 star review but save your wallet on this one. I paid $19 for a brisket sandwich and chips. The food was dry. My partner got potato wedges and they cost $15. That was after entry for 2 people with parking set us back nearly $100. With only 4-5 small short attractions and a poorly conveyed storyline for those who want the immersive experience this just felt like being served Hamburger Helper for 5 star restaurant pricing. I hope they do better in the future. TLDR - fun but not worth the cost. There are better options in Tucson

Yelp
we went there in 2007 and we can walk all over the place and in all the old buildings and even the area where they keep the cows. we could go to the church and the high chapparal building. now they have everything blocked off and u are only allowed main street and where the rides are. when did a studio place start to be like a fair. putting rides for kids there is not cool. it's an old studio and that's what I went to see. I didn't take my kids to a mini fair. it has changed for the worst now. I won't ever go back. it used to be cool but if u like mini fairs then good for u.

Yelp
this is only an event you can go in if you ALREADY BOOKED A TOUR. We stopped in here for fun and we were not able to enter. The only thing that was open was the gift store. Just a warning the others debating going here!

Yelp
So disappointing. I've been going to Old Tucson since the 1960's. One of my favorite attractions was the old cars that kids got to drive. It was the main reason my husband and I treated the kids/grandkids to Old Tucson last week. The first shock was the admission price for 2 adults (plus rides) 2 adults (no rides) one child (plus rides) one child free. $179. Just to walk through the gates. They didn't tell you they were attaching $30 worth of "processing fees" to the price of the listed admission prices. So, the grandkids got to ride the small train (with their parents) Carousel (with their parents) Stagecoach (with their parents.) That was the ride part of the admission ticket that I paid $34 extra for the parents to ride with their 4 & 6 year old. children. So from there, we went to the "Antique Cars" which was far from up and running. There was a sign (it was there 2 years ago when we went) that said "Coming Soon" THAT WAS THE MAIN REASON WE WERE GOING! They couldn't have told you that before you bought the tickets? We saw that they had Buckaroo Days advertised, which we thought would be fun for the kids. It was a bucket with 12 cheap plastic snakes that kids tried to throw in another bucket. There was a hay-bale maze that you took cheap plastic horses (not even nice stick horses) through a maze. Then there was the skeet ball where the kid tried to roll plastic balls up a splintered wood incline. There was a steer roping attraction, but kids couldn't fit on the steers. Honestly, I've been to school carnivals that had better games. Speaking of games, they had the Carnival row of about 5 games where you try to throw balls in various containers. My grandkids wanted to win a stuffed animal. You had to pay extra. For $12 they each got 3 Wiffle balls. Of course they got a consolation prize of a Dollar store stuffed animal. And the panning of gold, that used to be included in Admission, you had to pay for. There were wooden cut-out with the face hole cut-outs for photo ops. The cut-outs were so high, even us shorter adults couldn't fit reach to put our face in. There was one gun fight in the 2 hours we were there. We ate lunch there and yes, very expensive. That's to be expected. But then later we got little bags of Dot ice cream...$8 a bag. I'm not knocking the people that work there, they were friendly and did their job. But seriously, it is an embarrassment now. And unsafe. Don't charge Disneyland prices for something that is such low quality.

Yelp
We were turning around and didn't realize we were in the exit only side. Two workers were walking up to the gate to close it (right when I was making a u turn) and one of them started yelling at us. We were NO WHERE near them or the gate. One of the workers yelled 'f*cking idiots' and flipped us off. My friend made a signal that we were turning around and the worker continued to mouth off at us while closing the gate. We could read her lips very clearly. I can't believe this is an employee here!! This happened on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at closing time. I would think management would want to know about this.

Yelp
Visited Saturday for their Xmas program. I understand it's a western set-up, but it sure would have been nice if they watered the grounds. It was extremely dusty! Nothing is really different from other months. The park was decorated for Xmas, added the short hay ride with Xmas music, a Xmas skit and a few Xmas characters. Food is themed parked priced. But over all, for the cost of admittance, it was not all that...

Yelp
Date night with my boo. Enjoying an evening with a Fleetwood Mac cover band. Drinks are on an extra spicy Michilada and a Bloody Mary for my sidekick. I had a Mexican hotdog that came with scrumptious refried beans (sorry, honey).

Yelp
I absolutely loved visiting Old Tucson. We watched 3 shows and all were very entertaining! The atmosphere is so beautiful and there is so much to do. We were there for 5 hours and wasn't bored for a single second. I took so many awesome pictures and you really feel like you're walking back in time. All the staff were absolutely spectacular! So kind, engaging, and made you feel at home! It's an awesome place to take the family for a unique and memorable experience. Food was also a plus! Will be back hopefully for Nightfall!

Yelp
Remember the HBO show Deadwood? It was one of my favorites. As a longtime die-hard fan of Westerns, I was thrilled to find that the newly reopened Old Tucson had been cleaned up, revamped, and become eerily reminiscent of one of my all-time favorite shows. So much so that there's a particular actor roaming the grounds who I SWEAR is Calamity Jane. I mean, her mannerisms are *chefs kiss* perfect. While I WISH this theme park was open on a more regular basis and for a more reasonable entrance fee, I understand that the new owners are taking a different approach from the former. I am hoping that the increased ticket price is reflected in better compensation for the actors, as they certainly deserve it! My children (3&5) LOVED the stunt show and the comedic take on A Christmas Carol. The train ride was lovely. All the staff members we encountered were friendly, welcoming, and acted the part! (Western accents and all!). Great for kids or for a fun date night! We're hoping Old Tucson makes it so we can come back next year. Don't forget your cowboy boots!

Yelp
I was extremely hesitant to complain but the fact is I came with my family to visit and experience Nightfall. Let's just say it wasn't the hype it made itself out to be. Coming in I was already upset, my wife had to lift her shirt for a female security guard named Monica who said "deal with it" when I asked if it was necessary. So I let it go because our kids were excited to get in. Once we got in I saw two security guards whose names were Chris and Frank they looked very unprofessional and sloppy and smelled like alcohol. I approached them to ask them if what the security guard Monica did was in their protocol for pat downs and metal detectors because the other two weren't doing that, they looked at me aggressively and Frank asked what do I want. He was rude and his buddy was just glaring at me. I asked him my question and he said she (Monica) can do whatever she wants. Is this how old Tucson allows security to conduct themselves? I asked an other employee by the name of Laura, what the name of the supervisor is of security so that I can file a complaint. I explained to her what happened and she said she will handle it. I again asked her the name and she sidestepped the question. This is very unacceptable the way they handle and conduct themselves. I waited to put this on yelp because I will be contacting American Heritage Railroads who is the contract holders of Old Tucson. Nightfall itself was very disappointing. The shows were great but they ran out of food and the train didn't run. I have to say though looking at the male security to the women security, I would have to say the women were professional in not only conduct but attire as well. I encourage those that had similar problems should not hesitate to express their opinions on here as well as American Heritage Railroads, their employees were very unprofessional.

Yelp
Well if you 5 year olds that don't like being scared than maybe it is worth the money. The new people that took over, ruined nightfall. No haunts, no scares, even the live shoes were dull and the food overpriced and poor quality. No wagon ride only thing you had was train and merry go around. If they plan on doing another one in the future they better go back to their roots.
