Old Vic Travellers Inn

We had the privilege of staying at Old Vic Travellers inn. We were greeted with a smile and warmth even though our check in was very late. The hosts are very friendly and inviting. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. The location is beautiful. Best of both worlds, close to town but when you step onto the property you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nature. Thank you for the amazing stay.

Very bad from the time we entered the NARROW gate to the obstacle course to reach reception. The gent that attempted to assist us could hardly speak english, the bar only had castle light beer available although the website claims there is a FULLY LICENSED BAR. There was no food available, the route towards the back overlooking the swimming pool had a HUGE step to negotiate with no handrail support. I definitely think this place should be reported to the advertising authorities and the online booking agencies.

As always had a fantastic stay! Friendly staff, great private rooms and the pool is great. Will definitely be back.

My stay at Old Vic was fantastic, the staff is friendly, helpful and kind. They offer free tea and coffee. It's located in a calm area. ||I decide to book a day excursion to Kruger Park with Crazy Dave and it was a awesome experience. Thanks for everything!||

What a fantastic place, a true home away from home and amazing value for money. From the moment I arrived quite late at night, I was taken care of by the wonderful staff. Everybody here is helpful, kind and easy going. The ladies working here even patiently helped me order dinner online, which was quite a long process! I loved the quiet location of the guesthouse, next to a small mountain and away from the bustle of the city centre (but only a few minutes away by car if you need to go there). I had a really spacious room in a quiet corner of the house; there are many other rooms set around a peaceful garden. The owner/manager Bella efficiently arranged for me a last minute day trip around the area with a resident expert guide, Damian, who is an encyclopaedia of knowledge on plants, animals and local history and geography. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I would certainly love to return here one day to see more of the region and to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Old Vic. PS- I also did a wonderful 2-day tour with Bella's husband Dave through their company Kruger Flexi Tours, and I wrote a separate review of that.

Just got home from my 2nd trip with Dave at Old Vic Travellers Inn and Kruger Flexi Tour. I cannot say enough just how great it was. Old Vic is in a beautiful neighborhood and has amazing views of the wild mountain scenery backing onto the property and the jungle paradise pool area. The outdoor covered lounge area and the bar is a great place for a cold beer and planning the trip to Kruger with Dave. Cooling off in the pool after exploring Nelspruit or the local restaurants was so welcome. We stayed here upon arrival in Nelspruit, then did three days in the Park before returning to Old Vic and then heading back to Canada. Our room had a walk out to the pool, clean comfortable and just what we needed. Kruger National Park is a must see and if you want to see it, I truly believe that Dave is the guide you need. He is super knowledgeable, with a keen eye at spotting animals. They were very helpful with logistical information, helping us plan getting to and from Nelspruit. Our safari with Dave was spectacular on the wildlife front but also so much fun. He is known as Crazy Dave and his energy and excitement about taking guests into the park is infectious. He knows everyone and is well liked inside and outside the park, so you get an inside look and are welcomed into places you would not likely see otherwise. Especially on the way home on from the park with the stops at Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck Potholes, Harry's and more. These stops are must sees before heading back to Nelspruit. We stayed in two different camps inside the park and each day ended with Dave doing a traditional South African Braai (BBQ) that was a delicious and perfect way to end the day and review the sights of the park. I highly recommend Old Vic Travellers Inn and Kruger Flexi Tours. Thanks again Dave for everything!

I took a group of 50 to Old Vic and we all loved it! Crazy Dave and his staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating. We organized a few different adventures with them, including safari, zip lining, and the bridge swing and all went of amazingly well! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and homey place to stay in Nelspruit!

Enjoyed a full days game drive in Kruger National Park's southern section. The guide and driver who owns the Old Vic Inn and the accompanying tour company was punctual, organized and very knowledgeable about the animals and flora we were sitting. Often going out of his way to find specific animals. The tour was affordable and booked within minutes. I would certainly recommend Old Vic Inn and their accommodation either private rooms or a dormitory for backpackers is an ideal place to stay. Clean and comfortable with a good self catering kitchen and a communal lounge area.|
