The restaurant at Quails Gate is set in a beautiful setting with amazing views. Service was very friendly, although there may have been a lack of communication from the host to the server, as no one came to greet/take our order for a long time.. until one server found us and looked shocked that no one came to help us after being seated. Our waiter was awesome though.

Had lunch here the other day and it was spectacular. Shane was our server and, boy, did he deliver. He was incredibly knowledgeable and really encouraged us to try their best dishes. We had oysters which we love, but often don’t order, and I’m glad we did because they were very fresh and yummy. We also ordered the chocolate cheesecake - again, rarely order dessert - which was stupendous. The food was great but Shane really made the experience that much better.

Excellent long lunch here last week - very good food & lovely relaxed atmosphere sitting outside. Only slight negative is sometimes the wine pairings took a while to arrive with each course so we were nearly finished with our meal before we got to try the wine paired with each course, but it was all good.

"Outrageously" haute cuisine. A special dinner celebration for a starving palate. From appetizers to desserts, this place exceeded our expectations. Heavenly, fresh, gourmandizing, flavorful, savory, exquisite and mouth-watering food. I felt like I was back home in Europe walking down memory lane. Instead we were minutes away from home, yet in a place where the surroundings made one feel like you just stepped into Paradise. The ambiance was warm cozy and unwinding from a long day was instant. Our dishes were vibrant, creatively presented, bursting of freshness with unique flavors, simply a delight for any gourmet food enthusiast. Our server Frederic was very attentive without being overbearing. This was more than just a meal and evening out for dinner, it was an elegant memorable experience.

Great saturday brunch on the vineyard. Beautiful view and atmosphere. The staff was attentive and friendly. Food was served all at once, allowing us to enjoy together. The dining experience was made bettee with live performance by the very talented duo. We enjoyed the 63 acres beef burger, 63 acres steak & egg, Cassoulet, & Country breakfast. Very delicious.

The service was amazing!!! We had Elena for brunch and she was very attentive and explained to us about the vines and maintenance going on at the winery. The food was also very good. We recommend the Brussels sprouts! The jazz artist was great and so talented but we wish she was on stage for longer!

Brought my mom to the restaurant for her first visit. Impeccable service from Elena. Our water and coffee cups were always topped up; we never had to ask. Thank you for your polite, patient, welcoming and courteous demeanor. We attended for the Brier inspired brunch menu between games. Our eggs were poached exactly how we requested. Meals served hot. Well seasoned. Well thought out offerings. The hollandaise was stunning; perfectly lemony. The pickled onions were a great addition to the chicken and waffles. Thankyou for this lovely Sunday experience.

Google
Our server was not bad, they tend to service the regulars with a more friendly tone than out of towners. Food is on the pricey side, $22 for one piece of raviolio. They have changed their brunch menu. Their all time favourite is the mussels and frites is gone! But they should have more options for brunch, and the food portion is a little small. Overall is still a great place to enjoy a relaxing lunch.

Yelp
Wow gorgeous place and fantastic dining atmosphere. Service is fantastic and I do recommend making a reservation in advance if you can. They take walk in too but you never know how busy it might be. We came as a group of 6 and everyone loved what they ordered. I went for a vegetarian dish which had mushrooms and a pearl couscous type grain. Very well seasoned and comforting. The duck was amazing as well and so was the pork belly dish. I loved the fish we ordered which I can't recall if it was trout or salmon, but the seasoning was perfect. Not too salty and tasted nice and fresh. For the wines, we needed help with recommendations and the staff were extremely knowledgeable. They poured us samples from open bottles that they had available which helped us choose what we wanted to enjoy with our dinner. Fantastic place for a date or just a special dinner.

Yelp
5 star all the way. The food is simply so good and the atmosphere is amazing. We ordered the snow crab risotto added four big fat scallops on top, veal cheek was soooooooo delicious i don't understand what they put in the sauce but it's to die for. The only one not that good is the tomato appetizer, simply not worth the money. I can't really taste the wine jelly. The tartare is also amazing, but the choice of bottom block is interesting, I loved it but my friend didn't Service is amazing!

Yelp
THE BIG: Located in West Kelowna with a stunning view of the lake. Plenty of parking nearby. Big indoor tasting area and great 2nd floor terrace overlooking the vines and lake. THE BLACK AND WHITE: There's two things you need to come here for, the view and the ice wine. I never had ice wine before and if you haven't had it, definitely try it here. I don't think ill get it again because it's so sweet, but it's there for the experience. The estate tasting had a great variation of whites and reds from the okanagan featuring chardonnay, riesling, pinot noir and syrah. Our server was great and gave us a good history lesson on Quails Gate and the Okanagan. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall a wine tasting for their estate series is $15 CAD and we also got their ice wine tasting that was $7 CAD.

Yelp
Had an amazing lunch with such beautiful scenery! The meal was delicious and the server Neem was the absolute best! Thank you Neem for making our lunch so great!

Yelp
Came in for wine tasting before noon (on Wed) and was able to walk-in w no wait! You get to choose 4 wines from Estate or Collectors tasting and majority were available to purchase. They range from $20 - $80 but recommend purchasing from the collectors list since they're for purchase at this location vs. you can purchase estate from Vancouver. Donna was very knowledgeable explaining aromas and pairings with each wine! Had a great time with lovely view and def will come back!

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place considering how well known its winery is. Our group came in for dinner for a bachelorette and there were 10 of us in total, we had made reservations. We got there at about 7:35pm, our server came by and everything was off to a good start, they had just rolled out their new menu that week and we were interested in trying a few things. We ordered the beef tartare, foie gras, oysters and mussels all of which were great EXCEPT for the fact that we didn't get them until 9:05pm. Mind you that the restaurant was not even busy, they had less than 20 tables with 4 cooks in the kitchen who had ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE OF URGENCY whatsoever. This is where it went south, our server did not come talk to us or even apologize for the delay in our entrees or how long everything was taking. He never refilled our waters until we asked which was very disappointing. By the time we got our entrees it was 10pm we had 2 dishes of risotto and some lamb, steak, lingcod and chicken. The risotto was an absolute disaster, raw, crunchy, grainy texture tasteless risotto, we had gotten a remake and wow there was not much change we had to add salt to make it slightly better, sure it was less raw but still raw and it only took about 5-8mins to execute which then brings us to think, why did all the food take so long then and do they not taste the food before sending it out? In addition to poor food, the lamb was extremely gamey, when lamb is done right it wouldn't taste gamey. By the end of our dinner, our entire group had had enough, we've been at this restaurant for far too long and we definitely didn't feel welcomed. We had to make a stop at McDonald's as we were still hungry and we're not staying to wait another 2 hours for food. We felt bad for the bride as this dinner was supposed to be special but it's clear that Quails gate is just not meant for bachelorette dinners. They're better off sticking to just wineries. We will never be returning for any kind of meal here.

Yelp
The second stop on our trip was Quails' Gate, another larger, well-known winery.  However, the experience was nothing like that at Mission Hill.  It was crowded and chaotic, and the people there were.... colorful, such as the basketball jersey-clad guy whose face and head were covered in tattoos and the 20-something year old girl wearing a tight leopard print dress, socks, and fuzzy slippers.  Some people had also brought along their young children.  Unlike Mission Hill, where groups had private tasting rooms, the setup at Quails' Gate was that of a typical tasting -- you stand at a long counter sampling the wine, although due to COVID, each group was separated by a plexiglass barrier (which is a good idea even during non-pandemic times, as it gives a sense of privacy).   I wasn't impressed with our host, a middle aged man named Glen, or some other such middle aged man's name, especially when I saw him pull off his mask and rub his finger underneath his nose (presumably to scratch an itch).  Yuck.  We sampled four wines: Chenin Blanc; Gewürztraminer; Rosé; and the group's favourite, the Old Vines Foch, a smokey, spicy, peppery red (I didn't care for it, as I do not like those types of wines, but everyone else loved it). The wine tasting was $10 a person, and you received a voucher for $10 off a bottle of wine, so essentially your tasting was free with a purchase, which is standard at wine tastings (not at Mission Hill, though, in which there was no discount on the tasting with a purchase).  I didn't buy any wine, although my husband and friend did, including several bottles of the Foch.  All of us agreed that Quails' Gate was an overall poor experience (especially compared to other wine tastings), but we were happy to have tried the Foch.  While there's nothing wrong with Quails' Gate wine, I wouldn't recommend going there for a tasting, especially as there are so many other wineries. Yelp
Upon entering we were told we had to pay upfront for tasting and would receive coupons for wine. The wine was good but the entrance left a bad taste in my mouth. Every other winery we have bought multiple bottles and felt much more relaxed.

Yelp
Quail's Gate is one of the rare wineries of the region that retained their Foch grapes while everybody else tore them out in favor of other new and exciting species. They did a pretty good job of it, and their estate down the hill in the shadow of Mission Hills is expansive and pretty to walk through. So it's no wonder that my group was excited to return here as one of our last stops to cap off a wonderful Okanagan long weekend. We had planned to show up first thing in the morning, grab a quick bite at their new Market place, to ensure we were satiated first thing and ready to pop in for a non-reserved tasting in their panoramic tasting gallery that was to open an hour later. Well, that's where the fun begins... Our plans were already thrown askew as soon as we discovered that the Market was abruptly closed for the day. Closed for a holiday? Last minute change in operating hours? Bad planning on our part? Not sure, but the staff also seemed surprised and disappointed that it was closed. We were going to have to hold on to our empty stomachs and uncaffeinated brains for a bit longer. We pondered leaving and going to a nearby cafe but we didn't want to cause any additional delays or uncertainties to our plans so we were determined to salvage what was left. We took a walk through the grounds in the bright sunny day, took photos, admired the view of the Lake from the fence and waited for the Tasting Room to open. And in we went, perhaps there could be a snack in their wine shop that we could grab as a way of somewhat ensuring we weren't going to be tasting on a pure empty stomach. On entry we were greeted at the podium and offered some tasting options...our eyes were drawn to the Chocolate and Wine Pairing, especially as we remember the days of the Icewine tasting being served in chocolate cups (those days are gone). The selection didn't seem as good as the more flexible wine-only options where we could choose the wines so that's what we went for. The hostess asked us to briefly wait and we would be shown to our table, which we thought might be one of the tables at the balcony outside overlooking the beautiful vineyards in which we had just strolled. But alas, we were told to walk straight up to the indoor bar lining the back windows. No problem, except that there were a lot of us and there wasn't much space. And that's where we were immediately scolded for the first time about spilling over the visual edges of the sectioned bar. I should probably note that for a group our size, we were a tight squeeze and we had decided to share our tastings rather than for each to have their own. Reason begin the empty stomach thing. It was probably wise to control our portions, and we were able to pair off with similar tastes and wine choices. As much as we didn't want to be an intrusion to their procedures and operations, the scolding felt a little premature given that there wasn't anybody else at the tasting bar. We'd be happy to make space, or perhaps it would have been better to split the tastings up in the first place so that we could space out better. It was odd making one group crowd in when there wasn't anyone else around so early in the day. Oh yeah. the empty stomach - one member of our group spotted tapenade and crackers on sale in the shop and quickly bought some so we could have a bit of a pairing with the wine, or at least give our stomachs more to work with than pure wine. So out it came and our first pours were getting started. We were just settling in when the manager abruptly appeared and pointedly told us that the food couldn't be at the bar and needed to be removed. We were a little stunned by the jarring tone of the manager especially compared to our pleasant wine concierge, Diane, who was probably also taken a bit aback by the sudden intervention of her manager. We tried to process what was being told to us - the market was closed, our stomachs were empty, we want to enjoy wine and we shared our thoughts on this. The manager repeated sternly "this food affects the taste of the wine - please go immediately". We didn't get kicked out. We were requested to take the food away, which meant one of our group leaving and taking the food back to our car in the parking lot. But the tone got super awkward immedaitely and Diane worked her hardest to salvage the mood - sharing light hearted personal stories, continuing to talk about the wine and complimenting our appearances. We did feel bad for her, and the wine was objectively good. We left with some purchases, but definitely with a lot fewer than we would have had we been allowed to have more agency in our participation at Quail's Gate. Ownership should take note that the conduct and culture of their current management isn't optimum for business. If anything affects the taste of wine, it's not food, it's bad attitude and putting their customers in a mood.

Yelp
Fantastic food, beautiful vineyard and excellent customer service from all. We didn't make reservations for lunch at the restaurant as we didn't know what time we would arrived. We were welcomed as there were available tables on the patio. The patio has stunning views! Note: social distancing was kept high in the restaurant and on the grounds. The all staff wore face mask and hand sanitizers at all entrances. We felt safe here. Extending our courtesy to the staff, we wore our face masks onsite when not eating. We order truffle & parmesan fries, steamed mussels with saffron and white wine, and garganelli pasta with fennel sausage, confit garlic, pine nuts and herbs. All delicious. We were so full, we didn't have room for desserts. Upon our server's suggesting I ordered the 2017 Chardonnay which went well with our lunch. It was crisp and very smooth. I'm not a white wine person but this one really impressed me. The grounds are lovely to walk around. From the restaurant, you can walk all the way to the lake front. After lunch, we popped into the "market" to see the wine selection (and also a good place to grab a quick snack with plenty of picnic tables around). We bought a bottle of red without tasting as the staff were so helpful. I highly recommend this winery. It was out first winery upon arrive and checked all the marks.

Yelp
A very enjoyable wine tasting. We popped by on a whim without a reservation and the staff was able to accommodate our group. I tried two whites and two reds, and fell in love with Queue. The views were gorgeous - went to their patio and vineyards for photos afterwards. A lovely time.

Yelp
First off, when we entered the building, we thought the "hostess" was there to help others to purchase tickets. Mind you, it was only 2 other ladies [of the same party] that was purchasing the tickets while we were waiting. My husband was looking around at the wine selection, while I stood there and was confused on why we weren't greeted next. The "hostess" [who we shall name] heard us commenting why I was confused THEN finally acknowledged us, when we were clearly standing there a good while. Secondly, when we finally purchased the "tickets," she seemed pretty agitated because my husband kept on trying to explain the options we had back in the States. We didn't realized we couldn't buy a bottle in a Canada, like how we do in the States, If we didn't want to do the WHOLE tasting experience at first. But she finally understood and we moved on from there. Luckily, the connoisseur we had during the tastings was friendly enough to have the patience for us to just relax and chill from there. I would've rated this place as a 1, but the connoisseur had literal knowledge of the wines, along with the hospitality that I know Canada has to offer. And also, the views are amazing, but it sucks that we can't bring drinks out on the patio and do pictures. We have to leave the glasses back and THEN stepped outside to enjoy the patio. Wine NOT right?

Yelp
A wonderful winery with a wonderful restaurant. The ambience is beautiful. Service was amazing. Wine list was ample and the menu was amazing. All food arrived cooked to perfection. It was a busy Saturday night however our dining experience never felt rushed in the least. Overall an imprecise dining experience.

Yelp
I really like Quail's Gate Winery. Fell in love with one of their award winning ice wines. But I like so many of the whites and reds too. There are too many to list. Always enjoyed the winery atmosphere, tasting room, gorgeous view, nightly stays at their rentals on the water and beautiful restaurant and cuisine. If you are ever touring the Okanagan wineries this is a must see; you won't go home empty handed.

Yelp
Lunch at Quails gate was fantastic . Great staff and seating with view of the vineyard along with Chardonnay made my day . Food was exceptional and my compliments to the chef.

Yelp
Came here for the wine tasting and it was AMAZING!!! I'm not sure if it's because we came here at 10:30am, but the winery was much less crowded than Mission Hill and felt way less like a tourist spot. Also, unlike Mission Hill, we were able to wander the beautiful grounds and take in the views without a tour or reservation. In terms of the wine, I particularly loved the Syrah!! In fact, it was my favorite wine out of the 7 tastings we did! Will definitely be back next time I'm in Kelowna!! A little on the pricey side compared to the other wineries in Kelowna, but my favorite by far!

Amanda M.

Yelp
Families over 5 (we were 6 adults and one 2 year old) won't be able to sit down due to restaurant's incapacity to serve lunch for more than 5 people. Hostesses will be rude and the least accommodating, arguing we can't split up to eat in different tables with SEPARATE bills. No one will walk around tables as we are not kids, but still they will deny service if you are an international family with a toddler.

Yelp
Quails' Gate is one of West Kelowna's older wineries and one worth going for a tasting. We actually went twice, so that we could try different wines. The first time we went, it was crowded, and the host tried really hard to go between two different parties, describing the wines and tasting notes. It was short and sweet and we really enjoyed most of the wines he served. We loved the vibe there, with the giant window looking out to the vineyards, and inside, the flames flickering in the fireplace. Two weeks later, we returned to purchase a membership and try a tasting of different wines. This time, a new hostess, Lark, gave us her full attention and told us all about the history of the property and vineyard and spent the time to show us how to properly do a tasting. As a result, we purchased several bottles to savor at home, and look forward to returning. There is also a restaurant at the site, which I am told you'll need reservations for. Worth a visit.

Yelp
By far my favourite winery! This is coming from an Ontario girl who makes plenty trips to Kelowna to make this solid decision. I say this because the whole team is amazing and friendly! They carry all my favourite jellies and wines (of course that's a given). Their dessert wine and their white wines always come back home with me (and they do an amazing wrapping job too!). The view is also TDF! If you're a planning a trip to hit up some wineries in the Okanagan Valley, this one wont disappoint!

Yarko Y.

Yelp
The atmosphere was nice and the service was ok but the portion sizes where very bad. The Cornish hen was two different chicken legs (not a Cornish hen). Also the prices where insane like 50$ for a tiny meal. also bead is not complementary any more.

Yelp
This review is regarding the super friendly service and for accommodating pets when the appropriate patio seating is available. Thank you Quails Gate Team :)

Yelp
One of my favourite winery in Kelowna! The view here is amazing and their wine selections are great. Only one minus point is that the tasting room is quite small anf not much for social distance during covid.

Yelp
Wine with a view! I will definitely come back. So peaceful. Quails gate wine is now one of my favourite wines!

Yelp
Two words for you, Ice Wine. Quails' Gate was the one winery that everyone told me I had to visit when in Kelowna. I booked on a wine tour with Experience Wine Tours and this was stop number 1 - and with good reason. They have a huge facility and the wine tour here really goes into depth on the wine making process. The story of the winery's beginnings, the view, the gift shop, the tastings, (they even have a gorgeous restaurant), all wrapped up in one bottle shaped package. After the wine tour, we were welcomed back into the gift shop to warm up around the fire. We sampled five different wines made at Quails' Gate but nothing prepared me for ice wine. I'd never had it before and I'm not usually a sweet wine fan but this after a meal, or in place of a dessert is now my favourite thing on earth. Needless to say we left with a few bottles.

Yelp
When we walked in the hostess was lovely and enthusiastic about us having the "best seat in the entire restaurant with the best view" when we got to our table it was certainly not the best table, I think she oversold it. My husband needed help selecting a wine and our server said he was new and didn't know enough about the wines, which is totally fair and he said he's send over their wine expert. The "wine expert" never came but instead our server came back and said "she suggests the Merlot" ... would have been nice to speak to her about it since we spent $80 on the wine?!? The appies were small and not worth it at all, but the mains made up for it. Everyone enjoyed their mains and they were plentiful! I had noticed bread plates and knives on the table and I asked about it and our server said there's a charge for their homemade sourdough. Not one to miss out on a homemade bread of course we ordered it. Came out cold and didn't seem as fresh as it could be. I've had Much better (complimentary) bread at The Keg. Overall, not in a rush to go back. For the amount we spent (over $400) it was mediocre at best.

Yelp
One of my fav wineries in all of Kelowna. You can taste in the food how fresh and organic it is. Had such a lovely meal, along with dessert ! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Great wine, great view, great view. Only thing that boggles my mind is they say it's a first come first serve when I comes to resignations. When we came there and would like some tables on the edge of the patio they said they are reserved? I thought they don't do table reservations only what's available at that time. Plus that table table was not being occupied for two hours when we where there and no one came to the table when we left. Suck also that our server got some of orders wrong. Paid more then expected. Oh well it was a cool experience.

Yelp
We came here 3 years ago and the wine was fantastic and well-priced. We especially liked their nouveau beaujolais made from their Gamay. However, upon revisiting they no longer made any nouveau beaujolais and their wines had significantly increased in price. The lady who saw us waiting for a spot at the tasting bar was kind and offered us rose while we waited, but otherwise I would not recommend it. The prices are too high and none of the wines were remarkable. Consider making another nouveau beaujolais.

Yelp
Used to be our favorite until last weekend. We had lunch there. Food is not great anymore. And service is not excellent. We had clams, octopus as appetizer. Octopus was great. But not clams. It was a disappointment. Main course is mediocre. Dessert is not wow. Did they just change owner? It used to be fantastic worth 5 star.

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner here. Both the wine and food are excellent, we always make it a mandatory stop for us when in Kelowna! Make sure you make your reservations as it gets busy! The halibut and the cod are amazing. The tuna carpaccio is so good. The dry riesling is amazing too.

Yelp
At the restaurant related to the Quails Gate Estate winery, wine flights come set into in a terraced, iron work glass contraption that makes a fun spectacle at the table. The reds here are nice: a solid four. Did I mention the setting? It can not be overstated how beautiful it is here in the summertime with the windows flung open and with this wonderful views of flowers, terraced vines, cool patio stones, mountains jutting up in the background, and a clear lake below. Three for the food at the restaurant (see my Old Vines restaurant review) but a five for the setting and service, and a four for the wines, to average to a four. If you feel you have to compliment your wine flight with food and want to stay in the Old Vines restaurant seating longer, perhaps stick with nibbles (meats, cheeses, olives and truffle fries) for a sure thing, since food here is just okay.

Yelp
One of my favourite wineries in Kelowna! I love their wines.. a big fan of their Chasselas - Pinot Blanc - Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Rose. A new favourite is the Cabernet Sauvignon. Views are absolutely stunning. The lake, the vineyards, the mountains.. breathtaking!

Yelp
Took our money elsewhere. We arrived here with high expectations as I've read it's one of the must-go-to wineries when visiting here. When we arrived the tasting room was jam packed. I expected it to be more touristy and whatnot since it is a bigger facility, so it's not like I was exactly expecting more personal service that you get at the smaller wineries, but I also was not expecting to loiter around for 15 minutes waiting for a spot anywhere to open up. Nada. I think what disappointed me the most was that employees took zero notice. I've wine tasted in other large facilities in places like Napa and Sonoma where the feel is similar as it is a much larger production place - but no where have I stood around looking like an idiot for 15 minutes without being offered anything or without and employee trying to make room somewhere. So we eventually left and took our money down to the hatch next door where the staff were much more friendly and accommodating!

Christy M.

Yelp
I took 2 out of town guests to taste at Quails Gate. I was very pleasantly surprised at the knowledge of the wines, winemaking and valley history from our Sommelier Katrin. So different from most other wineries in the area. Thank-you Quails Gate for the professional experience.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed in this winery. This is a top notch winery (usually) but as soon as we wanted to eat at the restaurant (after I've purchased multiple bottles of wine) we were treated extremely poorly. The hostess told us that we cannot be served (me and my boyfriend and this is his first winery tour) between the hours of 2 and 5. Apparently the winery doesn't serve food between 3-5 to "make it easier on servers". 1. I used to sever and servers don't need a "turn around time" to make their lives easier. This is complete BS. 2. The server told us we cannot be served from 3-5 without a reservation. So I said "I respect that, are you completely booked for the entire two hours?" And she said no. So I said "okay then I will go online and book a table" and she said "no you're actually not allowed to do that" and I asked why if you're only taking resos between 3-5? And she said because that's how it is. We left pissed off and hungry. It is extremely unacceptable for paying customers to be treated this way. Without a good enough reason!

First time in this super delightful place. Did not take the wine tasting but the restaurant served us well. The food was outstanding. The staff was super nice and very knowledgable. They looked after us till closing time; we were definately not rushed :) The restaurant has a great view of the lake. A definate must try.

Yelp
This was a stop on our Vines and Views Tour. The grounds are beautiful and so are the views from the veranda tasting tables (for private parties). They had some delicious wines, my favorite being their Pinot Noir. They have an extensive gift shop area and the employees here were very friendly.

Yelp
We were actually here twice, once for dinner and once for wine tasting! The wine tasting was a part of a wine tour across Kelowna but found the winery to be very picturesque!! The wine tasting was very standard but the patio was great! For dinner, I would highly recommend this place! The prime rib was delcious and the dinner experience is great! The staff is great and the wine! Oh man the wine!

Yelp
One of the best wineries in the area, with a wonderful setting and tasting room to match the high-quality wines. This is a popular winery and can get busy, but they handle the volume well. The wines are good (as is the food in the associated restaurant). Of the Kelowna wineries, this was our favorite by a large margin (there are other really good wineries to the south, but this is the best in Kelowna proper).

Yelp
The wine tour and scenery was amazing! The view from the restaurant is breath taking. It's definitely worth experiencing on a on a clear sunny day. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves on the entire tour. The restaurant is a very nice place to eat and was very busy. However, the food was not worth the wait and sadly below par. As much as we enjoyed the scenery, service, wine...the food just didn't meet the standards of everything else there. From the appetizers to entrees, everything was way over priced and really not good. However, it's worth the exceptional view and to experience it once. For a great experience, go to Quails Gate Winery for the tour, tasting room, and view...but skip the food.

Yelp
2 free wine tastings of their best white (Riesling) and red wine (Old Vine Foch), personal opinion. $5 for 3 tastings, which you get back if you purchase 2 bottles of wine. Their prices for wine was pretty reasonable. The Riesling was ~$15, Old Vines Foch for ~$15, and Ice Wine for ~$35. Other wineries are charging $25 for a bottle of Chardonnay at Mount Boucheries and $100 for ice wine at Mission Hill for comparison. Tastings were done in decent wine glasses, standard Riedel size ones. Glasses were not changed to suite white or red being sampled. The personnel ensures that you tried it on order of strength of the wine. If you are feeling a little hungry, you could splurge on a $25 tasting that would include some pairings of food (nibbles) with wine. The tasting room also sold cheese and spreads to go with your wine. I did not see any bread - but they could have been out for the day as we arrived around 6 pm. Tasting room was quite picturesque. The restaurant and wine tasting room is perched high above a hill overlooking Okanagan Lake. Lovely architecture and manicured grounds - it might be interesting to go for a tour.

Yelp
The wines here are great and it's a beautiful place to visit when in the Okanagan. They offer daily tours of the grounds, and the restaurant serves delicious food throughout the day (of course with a fantastic wine list). The tasting room prices are very reasonable, with options of 3 wine tastings for $5 or $10 depending on if you want to try more of the reserve wines. The dessert wines are $5 per tasting but come in a little chocolate cup. If you are really into wine, you can also get into their wine club, which I think many wineries offer if you like a steady supply of vino.

Yelp
Arrived here with limited time but managed to explore their shop and eat at their restaurant. Overlooks the Okanagan Lake, with beautiful views. There was a wedding taking place when we were there. What a perfect location!! Great winery, free tastings available,as well as 3 choices for $5. The shop also has lots of other items to purchase-crackers, cheeses, books, and other wine related items. There's a patio (with a great view too) where you can consume the wine bought and enjoy with the cheese/crackers. So glad we visited it, and I'm sure I will back!!

Yelp
This is a 3.5 I wish I could give them a better review but I can't. Unfortunately we booked a day where it ended up raining. So we were placed outside for our testing, which was cold. They could only accommodate one group inside. So we outside on a rainy, cold day. I thought the wine was great but not the food selection that came with the tasting. I thought it was very expensive for what you got. I didn't like the chocolate that came with the dessert wine. Actually I didn't like the dessert wine either. Our sommelier was really nice and knowledgeable, of course. I did leave purchasing 2 bottles because I am a fan of Quails Gate wine but I didn't think this tasting was worth the money. Sorry Quails Gate!

Yelp
A little pretentious...came for a small birthday celebration party of 4. Drink orders were ignored as we were told we had to put our orders in both appetizer and main. Personally I like to have a cocktail then order wine with dinner but we had no choice as the waiter told us he has to pair a wine with our choices .... Most of us already know our choice of wine we prefer .... I found it very controlling as we were given no choice. Food came and went nothing spectacular but service lacked as we sat there for quite some time with our dirty plates and what is with the 5 oz pours of wine? Don't mind paying for good service but this was definitely lacking.

Yelp
Ate in the Old Vines Restaurant for our anniversary. Ordered scallops for an appetizer and they were quite a disappointment. $20 for what was supposed to be two scallops, which is quite expensive in the first place, but they came as three of the sorriest looking scallops I've ever seen at a "fine dining" restaurant. One medium sized scallop and two puny funny little lop-sided scallops that were over cooked and cold. Not good. I ordered the Cornish game hen and that was okay but my husband had a steak and he said he'd had better steaks in his day and that was almost $50. It came as two skinny little steaks. It ended up being sub par food for a large price. Too bad because they are located in our neighborhood and we'd like to be able to dine closer to home on a regular basis. Even the Keg would have been a better choice. Also, the server disappeared and we didn't see our drink refill for 15 minutes after we'd ordered it. Just as we were thinking she must have forgot, she appeared. Otherwise, the service was okay but certainly nothing special. Won't be returning. Not worth the price.
