Old Water View

Fabulous location with very kind and cheerful hosts. Lovely, cosy, warm residents lounges with a very well stocked honesty bar. Very comfortable, spotless room. In all a lovely stay and wished I had more than one night. Great breakfast and filling packed lunch.

Fantastic stop on the coast to coast. Delightful night in the “Herdy Hut” outside which was very cute. Special guest appearance by a red squirrel on the balcony as well. Nice hosts, fantastic location. Most insane honesty bar I’ve ever seen!! Must have been 25 different whiskies alone. Would definitely stay again.

We were doing the coast to coast with some friends and we are SO glad we chose this accomodation. It's absolutely lovely inside- dedicated dry room and a bar by the river too. The service was super attentive and the breakfast was perfect! Would recommend for romantic weekends roo. Bedding/pillows were excellent and would serve as an excellent base to go walking/cycling through Patterdale/Glenridding/Helvellyn etc. The owners were delightful and couldn't have done a better job with the place. Thanks again!

We had a perfect stay at Old Water View during our Coast to Coast hike. The welcome was warm and friendly, the room was excellent (and Wainwright himself once slept in it, how exciting!) and breakfast was great, with an invitation to come out to watch the red squirrel having his breakfast on the feeder. I loved it! ||The B&B had a lovely little outside bar (extra bonus points for GF beer on tap!) with seating along the river, it was just the tonic we needed after a long day on our feet. ||Thank you for your hospitality!

What a wonderful retreat - the most fabulous hosts - a house with warm living rooms, full bars, and fireplaces. We could easily stay here for a week, but as we are walking the Coast to Coast, one night is all we got. But we are so rejuvenated and energized from the hospitality and full services provided.

Dave was so welcoming and informative.|We felt so comfortable staying there. The outdoor bar was amazing. The “honour “ bar was a great way to unwind at night and catch up with other travellers who were also doing the C2C. I would highly recommend staying there

Walker friendly stop on the Coast to Coast. Recently refurbished to a good standard the owners has managed to combine updating the property whilst maintaining the best of the previous owners information and history of the place. If the weather is good, you will enjoy the beautiful outside garden bar. The inside bar is cosy. Recommended.

In the heart of the Lakes District is the Old Water View Inn who caters to the outdoor adventurous travelers who come to the area for hiking, biking, and enjoying the area's water sports. Their rooms are very comfortable and tidy, they have a nice common room for relaxing or playing games, a heated drying room to get your boots and clothes ready for the next day's adventures, a cozy outdoor bar, scrumptious breakfast and they'll make you a box lunch for the next day at a very reasonable price. We would highly recommend staying here.
