I had a genuine experience at this seafood bar, where the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious—fresh, crispy, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. Paired with a selection of local craft beers, it was the ideal combination for a relaxing lunch. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy great food and drinks in a cozy setting.

It’s as simple as… I had the best seafood chowder I have ever tasted - in my entire life here. Full of fish, perfect creaminess & and cute fish shaped crouton, I can see why the Olde Castle has so many awards & accolades. The staff had lovely Irish charm, friendly, funny & a good sense of team camaraderie, which is lovely to see with staff. A lovely Irish bar and restaurant with great Irish charm, I can see why locals and tourists alike choose this perfectly located spot.

Excellent food and warm vibe. A pleasant surprise on the inside with the decor and the menu selection had the venison pie and burger both which were excellent. The apple pie was average.

Wow what a blessing as I arrived I was offered a Guinness from the waitress as a lady bought it for a picture but did not drink it!Talk about being at the right place at the right time🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻Second time here and there is just something about the atmosphere and the food.If the walls could only speak.Years of conversations and family get togethers..Oh yes my Seafood Chowder was the best…served with a smile!!!

Had dinner at the Golden Castle Seafood Bar tonight. Great atmosphere, lovely pub food, and good service. Understand the place is busy for a reason. It's popular, and the stream of people through the door attests to this. Had the venison pie, and it was marvellous. If in Donegal town, run for the pub to miss disappointment :-).

Phenomenal seafood and all around Irish experience at Olde Castle Seafood Bar. We had the oysters to start (fresh & flavorful!), seafood pie and fish n’ chips. Highly recommend for anyone!

Loved this place. I’m American and was traveling a loop of Ireland/Northern Ireland. Someone I met in Derry told me I had to come here. I sat at the bar. Asked what I should have and gave a few items I had my eye on. On recommendation of the bartender I got the mussels and seafood pie. Amazing! The pie must have 2pounds of seafood in it! I couldn’t eat it all but dug out the entire bottom that was just seafood! Wonderful way to spend my 1 night in Donegal!

I could not decided between the fish and chips and seafood pie. When we were told the seafood pie is what they are known for. It was amazing. Simple but complex. The creaminess of the mash, three types of fish, and a little sauce to top as you desire came together for something way better than it should be for how simple this is. The vegetables on the side were also spot on. The Guinness was nice and cold and the Kinnegar Devil’s Backbone Amber Ale is the best beer I’ve had in Europe outside of a Belgian beer. To top it off the Irish Coffee was on point. The atmosphere and staff only adds to a good experience.
