Olden Fjordhotel

Very good view of the fjords and mountains. Breakfast and dinner is average but the reception staff is very friendly and helpful! Room is slightly outdated and small, the ventilation in bathroom didn’t work so very humid. Location is convenient and close to town center, parking not very large but enough, be mindful that dinner time is very crowded in parking since some people only come for dinner. Overall great hotel.

Arrived at about 4.00 p.m. went to check in to be told quite abruptly you can't check in we have no linen. Little by way of apology - you will just have to wait. We did not know how long it would be and sat in reception with our cases along with other people. WE finally were allowed to check in at quarter past five. We booked a evening meal in the hotel but we were not advised that this would be a buffet meal shared with people who were arriving by coach. In reality there was plenty of food, it was well presented and tasted good. The 2 members of staff were attentive albeit very busy. The room was OK, pleased we were only here for one night. The hotel is quite dated and requires some investment. There is parking but the car park was quite full especially as two coaches parked overnight. Good views across the fjord.

Unfortunately this hotel has seen better days. I’m getting the feeling the owners try to just profit without actually giving a good product. The rooms were dated, dirty and falling apart. Clearly cleaning isn’t being looked after since we found plenty of dirt along the walls and under the bed. So it’s visible and surface area cleaning only. Mind you we had two different rooms since we found glass on the floor in quite big pieces in our first one and with our 2 year old that’s a hazard. Luckily the young woman at the desk was nice and service minded and we were able to get another room. She was nice, though we had another experience with another woman that was less pleasant. So it seems hit and miss. Balconies were falling apart and you had to wear shoes since the tiles were falling apart and there was a realistic danger of pinching your feet. Good view and close proximity to the town nearby.

The hotel is in need of serious renovation. Our room was not very clean, the toilet was leaking, and several things seemed worn out or broken. For a 4-star property, it was disappointing not to have even basic amenities like a kettle in the room. A very unpleasant experience, everything felt like it was falling apart. 2 stars just for the view from the window, but is it worth it…

Unbeatable views and exceptionally friendly service staff. The dinner buffet offered a wide variety of seafood, and the breakfast had plenty of great options. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Disappointing. The view was good and the room was clean and comfortable, but, while never rude, the staff seemed wholly uninterested in helping us or responding to questions. In fact, it felt like we were an inconvenience to their day.

Location is 5/5 but hotel is 3/5 at the most. Details are below: A great location overlooking the Olden fjord. The view from the rooms is stunning with beautiful scenery. There is a free car parking available. The location is about 5 minutes from Leon town allowing access to the required main services. As far as the hotel, the property is not in the best shape where the bathroom had clogged sink and the exhaust fan was not working. The service was also below average where our request to correct both problems was honored for clearing the sink but not to fix the fan. Also, the shower had no glass wall causing spillage of water. The buffet breakfast was very limited in food choices. The EV charging at the parking was not working.

Its a big hotel maybe grand 40 years ago, but interior i dated now still charming but much need upgrade. Room nice ok size, great balconey view, big telly but same dated. Breakfast maybe ok, had much better selection arrangment in Norway. Same great view when eating.
