Oldenburg Vineyards

Top 3 vineyard we have been in the stellenbosch region. It's a real hidden champion. Hidden as it off the main roads and hidden as they are top notch wines. Unfortunately we had no reservation but the guy was so nice letting us having two sips of their wines as we made the long way. Good for them and us as we placed an order for 1000+ Euro. Great place!

Probably the best wine tasting we’ve done to date both in terms of wine, location and service. We did the 8 elements tasting and all the wines were fantastic. The food platter they served was all locally sourced (and delicious) and the cheese was fantastic! Zachque was our host and he was so knowledgable, fun and made it very enjoyable. Stunning views and garden. 10/10 would recommend and ask for Zachque! We bought a bottle of the Una V Chardonnay and Merlot to take home.

This boutique winery is a must visit. From the beautifully designed tasting area to the amazing service, every detail is handled with care. The wines are absolutely fantastic!

An absolute charm. Not just the wine - we had the vertical Syrah tasting (as we are very enthousiastic over the 2014 bottles we have at home - the view and location as well. The mountain range gives you the feeling of looking at a full private closen estate. So the mountain serves the wine and the experience. Staff is very nice and chatty with tons of knowledgable intel.

We went for a wine tasting at Oldenburg Vineyards yesterday. I can highly recommend this experience. The tasting we participated in was for 6 wines at R470. A bit to the pricy side but worth every cent. The sommelier’s knowledge and passion was contagious and the wines are excellent. We also received a complimentary cheese tasting with local extra virgin olive oil, cracker and Tokara Calamata olives. Make sure to book in advance and allow enough time to relish in the beautiful views of Banghoek.

My wife and I had such a special Valentine's afternoon with Frieda and Greg among Banhoek's majestic mountains. We were dazzled Chenins, Chardonays, Merlos, Cab Savs and my personal favourate a beautiful Shiraz.

After a lovely experience at Rainbow’s End, my wife and I decided to head back downhill to try Oldenburg. We were greeted condescendingly asking if we had a reservation. We did not, but since 80% seats were empty, I asked if we could have wine poured without having to hear the story of each wine at any convenient seat. We were told “we don’t do that here, we offer a 1.5 hour experience, you can make a booking for tomorrow”. If you want a peaceful respectful experience, drive past Oldenburg and visit Rainbow’s End instead.

Absolutely fabulous setting, great wines and amazing staff! Best wine farm in the area, possibly best in Cape Town actually
