I was thrown to the ground like I was nothing. The security guard refused to let me in, while letting everyone else pass. When I asked why, he said: “I don’t need to give you a reason.” I started recording, calmly and he grabbed me by the neck and slammed me to the floor. In front of everyone. I have a feminine appearance. The way he treated me like a man, with brute force was terrifying and humiliating. People stared. I felt exposed, violated, like I didn’t belong anywhere. It was more than aggression. It was a moment of deep pain and shame. This place is not safe. If you’re visibly queer, stay far away.

The Ole Ole Bar in Zürich is known for its pricey drinks, but it tends to be the last stop for those wanting to go out during the week. The crowd is usually quite drunk, but if you’re looking for a place to keep the night going, it’s often the only option.

Seems like the place to be, popping on a Saturday evening. Minimum of 40 CHF for a credit card, large lagers are 9 CHF. Gia is amazing, don’t go in the shed if it’s raining, you will drown.

The place is so small when you step inside you will be in front of the bar right after that you cannot even move anywhere literally no place to move within 5 minutes you will feel like you’re out of your breath you have to go out to breath bartender the lady after serving the drink to customer she went inside and drink a sip sip instead of handling the customer she rather enjoy her drink first not good behavior all though she was polite *****Not recommended *****

We went into this place late at night, and we literally went in and right out. It is so tiny and it is so crammed up with people in an unrealistic way. There is literally no place to move or even enough air to breathe. I think they should control the number of people there, otherwise its not worth the visit. I am not sure how is it during the weekdays, but we went on Saturday and it was crazy.

Always a fun place. Definitely the most iconic bar of the street. Both terrible and amazing at the same time. Best random encounters. Be parient tho. Always a great atmosphere!

Yelp
On a Sunday night, this bar is open later than most everywhere else in Zurich, aside from its Langstrasse neighboring bars that cater to a very different audience (think establishments with clothing optional "performances" and all night hookah bars). It's a bit divey, for sure, but not in a dirty or dingy way. Despite Yelp saying that credit cards are accepted here, the bartenders told me otherwise (with a 30CHF bill), so keep that in mind if you're visiting from out of town and have limited Swiss currency. I'm guessing those instances are probably limited, given the relative neighborhood-y feel to the bar, but with its proximity to the train station you never know. There's not much specifically identifiable as great about Olé Olé, but it's the culmination of everything about the place that just makes it generally lovable. The bartender gals are cheerful and charming, and even manage to have their own labeled beer as a result of their infamy. The patrons are chill, but friendly, so much so that we wound up back at the flat of one of the people we met at the bar to have some after-hours drinks and inevitably chat about global politics (some things never change). Pricing seemed decent, with 4 beers (I think) being about 25-30CHF. They only had the local beer Amboss on draft in two varieties, which was pretty mediocre, but still better than the Bud or Miller products you would find in a similar dive back in the U.S. This definitely feels like more of a shots or whiskey sipping kind of bar. The bathroom deserves its own special mention here, with some of the most odd / interesting decor I've ever seen, featuring a full size skeleton hovering over the toilet with a bouquet of flowers for a groin, and a machine that dispenses something called "Travel Pussy".

Yelp
This is a very nice location to go out on a weekend and to have drinks. The bar is the beginning of the vibrant part of Langstrasse. The interior is nice and well decorated. The crowd is kinda down-to-earth till the a-wanna-be-a-hipster. The music is nice (alternative - Rock). Prices of drinks are OK. Normal prices for Kreis 4. Just pay attention, it is a narrow bar. It gets difficult when you are with more then 4 people. And you can not be outside because it is right at the street. For sure a place to go once in a while.

Yelp
I love this lil dive bar in the dodgy part of town, bring your coins for the juke box, play a tune and get down! The crowd is such a mix, and the lady bartenders are fun too, there were teenies to 70+, and they would all dance with you. On a Friday night it was hopping already at 10PM, and by 11:30 or so, there wasn't much more room to get in... So maybe start your night here with some of your favorite songs yet (but be aware they shuffle requests, so don't go holdin your breath)!

Yelp
A great bar for Friday or Saturday night: loud and packed. Don't expect anything else than a cool watering hole with fun decoration and a long history.

Yelp
Very small and cute bar on the busy bars district. Don't expect to be seated on fridays as it will be packed very early!
