Our second visit to Olea all Suite Hotel in Zakynthos. The first in 2021 shortly after Covid, and this time in June 2025 for 10nights. ||So, there is no mistaking the beautiful setting of this hotel, high up on a hill visible from approaches from lower valleys and from the Flow Dine & Wine restaurant (roof top) which at sunset gives a beautiful view of the island. ||Check in, wonderful, the front of house staff on the day were warm in their welcome. The first room given, very poor from a view point only! We were told it’s a Pool view but rather a very large Olive tree obstructed the balcony! The upgrade room, the Water Suite (the best one in my opinion is 111) giving the best sun amount through day! See pics. ||The duration of our stay for catering; breakfast could be improved to accommodate a wider palate and maybe consider more international breakfast options. ||The main lunch venue (Cocoon / Pool bar) has some lovely staff! For the days we ate in the Cocoon eatery, staff were warm, accommodating (well aware of my daughter’s nut allergy) and food choice from the menu was more than suitable for each palate. ||Only one small issue caused by a single member of the reception front of house staff; but it was rectified quickly. The matter arose from what I and others have said may well be due to a lack of mannerism and articulation of language which can sometimes come across as ‘rude’ ‘curt’ and dismissive! Could be a training issue and a better understanding of the demographics of their guests (especially if you’re spending in the region of £700 a night). Across some of the staff it often feels like a non-engagement of guests is the policy rather than engaging guests from time to time and some|Of the staff do come across as arrogant and not interested in guests. ||Lovely pools, which have a very calming feel and water is never too cold due to daily sun. ||A huge shout out to some of the food and beverage team members who seamlessly looked after our needs both at breakfast and lunch. One name in particular, Chrissa from Flow Wine & Dine and also worked the breakfast shift. A very warm member of Olea, others at the hotel could learn from her customer service skills. Not to forget ‘Theo’ who was always so joyful as were some of his colleagues at breakfast and Cocoon. Also, the staff who staffed the coffee station by reception was great, daily serving my daughter’s bespoke (diet) coffee. ||We indulged at the Spa the day before leaving, the staff from the Spa were amazing. From talking to us at the poolside offering complimentary 5min massages to booking our treatment and care. Thank you. ||Overall, a lovely family holiday, we always hire a car to ensure we travel around the island and go off the beaten track and explore some beautiful villages.||The small issues didn’t spoil the experience as we chose to return because of the first experience.
