Had a lovely time at Olerai House with my 3 year old. The staff were very welcoming and my son loved hanging out with the Samburu staff - Joseph and Matano - who really took great care of him, giving me the chance to read my book! It is so wonderful and peaceful, with bright, cozy interiors and the food is delicious and super fresh - I especially loved the salads which were picked fresh at every meal from their garden. It's on the northern side of the lake which is much quieter than the southern side where most of the resorts are but if you're looking for peace and quiet this is the place. It's worth going the extra distance and then driving to the southern side during the day for the boat ride and restaurants if you wish. The property has a lot of space to run and walk on. There is also an option to go on a hike on the hills behind it (we didn't do this but if I was without toddler I would have!)...We didn't use the pool as it was too cold but if it was warmer we would have...do wrap up warm as evenings are very chilly!

We stayed in the Olerai studio, a 2 bedroom cottage and had a lovely stay. The cottage was very beautiful and the sanctuary is expansive with a lot of animals anywhere you go. We had zebras, giraffes, wart hogs, deer, buffaloes, etc. all around us. Alfred, the manager is really sweet and promptly helps you with all your needs during your stay. Mamoset was really helpful and kept our cottage clean throughout. We had a chef coming in to make our breakfast every morning which was lovely. Moses took us for evening walks around the property which was really fun and he is such a sweet person. Spent hours explaining to us about the sanctuary, the animals, etc. Would definitely love to visit again.

Super friendly and accommodating staff; great, relaxing experience for families. Animals come right up to the house and its safe for small children to run around. Walks that extend beyond the front of the house are accompanied by a guide who is available on very short notice. The home is cozy and comfortable and is well kept by the staff. A campfire is lit every night with chairs arranged around it for outdoor chilling. ||Highly recommend bringing your own food/groceries and asking for the cook, Joyce - who prepares healthy wholesome meals from scratch. ||Only downside is the mosquitoes, bring repellent and you should be fine.

The interior facilities of the rooms are not modern, but they are cute and have decorations of colors and shapes suitable for Maasai culture. The bathroom and kitchen are also rather wonderful. Above all, however, the biggest advantage and good thing is that you can enjoy nature to your heart's content and relaxation in a location directly adjacent to Lake Naivasha. Being able to socialize with herbivorous wildlife is another privilege. However, it is so close to the lake that there are quite a few mosquitoes and you should be careful of fire ants that shoot hard. Be sure to prepare a bug repellent and a medicine to apply when you have a bug bite. It is highly recommended for those who want to taste freedom and enjoy nature in places where there are not many people.

Stayed at The Dairy. Absolutely beautiful place and the views of the animals right at your front door is amazing. This was even better than a safari - you get to observe the animals from up close, uninterrupted. Saw lots of zebras, warthogs, antelope, and giraffes. The rooms at The Dairy are beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious. Make sure to pack your mosquito spray!

Absolute gem at Naivasha Lake. Stayed three nights in the Studio: lovely, helpful staff, animals wondering around, excellent food, access to pool.

A lost and refound paradise! Olerai House is pure magic -peaceful, beautifully designed and surrounded by nature. The gardens are lush and full of life, and the whole place feels like a well-kept secret. The staff are kind and attentive, and the food is always fresh, local, and delicious. Can’t wait to return!
