The only redeeming feature of this establishment is the view. The chalets—if they can be referred to as such—are severely outdated. The beds are uncomfortably hard, and both the showers and toilets are prone to leaking. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible to enjoy the natural surroundings, as the constant noise from the geyser and air conditioning units overpowers any ambient sounds.
The restaurant was in an unacceptable condition, with dead bats on the floor and staff who appeared entirely disinterested in providing even a basic level of service. I was also locked out of my unit after the sliding door closed too firmly and engaged the lock. When I approached staff for assistance, I was met with indifference and made to wait while they finished counting their tips before addressing my situation.
It is deeply concerning that there seems to be no sign of effective park management. Judging by the state of the facilities and the apparent lack of accountability, this is clearly not an isolated complaint. For many international visitors, this destination is intended to be a highlight of their South African experience. Regrettably, this was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had in my own country in years.
