Excellent location. The staff were friendly and professional.|My room had a great view looking over to the beach. Traffic noise at night wasn't too bad. Everything worked fine. The bed had clean linens and afforded me a comfortable sleep.|The bathroom had good hot water and pressure.|Breakfast was adequate.|

I stayed at the Olinda Rio Hotel on 3/9-12. I greatly enjoyed my stay. The location is amazing as Copacabana Beach is right across the street. The dining room is gorgeous with huge windows so you can people watch or look at the beach while you eat your dinner, lunch, or breakfast. It’s an older hotel that has clearly been well kept. My room was nice and spacious and clean and cozy. The room’s fridge was stocked and there were chilled glasses in the fridge which was such a lovely touch. Moreover, the staff were so helpful, warm and welcoming. Marcus(front desk), Pitagna(front desk), and Fabricio(reservations) were kind and helpful. They were very personable. It’s oftentimes obvious if workers aren’t treated well or don’t like their job. That didn’t seem like the case here at all. Everyone was so kind and pleasant. I would absolutely stay again if I ever returned to Rio. Also felt safe as a female solo traveler. I do have a few complaints. The doors aren’t soundproof so if you’re a light sleeper bring earplugs. I couldn’t hear my neighbors much but I could hear the hustle and bustle of the morning “rush” in the hallways. The bathroom had a bit of a sewage type of smell. Not horrible but noticeable. It helped to open the window. Despite these I would still return as I really enjoyed my stay. I booked on Booking.com but can’t figure out how to post this review there so I came to google.

Great location right in Copacabana with the beach access a quick walk across the street. You can rent umbrellas and chairs to hang out all day. There are also lots of vendors around so you'll never be hungry or thirsty. The rooms, however, are quite dated. Despite having a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean, the room really was basic. Nothing about it felt luxurious-old table, clumsy closet doors, lack of storage and hooks in the bathroom. There was even a hole in the bathroom door. The stay was fine. The staff was helpful. Complimentary breakfast every morning, but pretty much the same food everyday with the exception of maybe one hot dish changed. Stay for the location, not sure the quality of the room.

Good location in Rio Copacabana. Rooms are clean but old fashioned. Breakfast modest and for safety reasons, the waiter will prepare the toast for guests. No bottle water provided and no portable water outlet. Our room with the Copacabana beach view buts bit noisy due to limited noise insulation.

Rooms were okay. Location is good. Hotel is quite old and needs to refurbish. No water or kettle and tea and coffee are not provided.

This hotel is probably one of the best ones i've stayed in. The staff was overly helpful. The location was directly across the beach from the beach and the views are amazing. They have a bar and restaurant in there. That's actually really good. I highly recommend this place

We had a great time in Olinda Hotel.Big thank you to Flavia and Ivan they both provided fantastic service and there were no problems with our stay. Breakfast in the morning was awesome too, lots of options available. The hotel is in the middle of Copacabana so it’s perfect position. This is our second time in Olinda Hotel and we will be definitely back. Thank you Olinda Hotel for memorable stay.

Attractive hotel, accommodating staff. Good location for Copacabana beach. Only problem was at 11:45pm, when elevator alarm went off and there was banging and people calling out. The door would not open. It had seemed rickety. Bad exchange rate. We were upgraded to a balcony room, very nice sea view. There is a good outdoor restaurant, Rondinella, across the street.

Yelp
Will stay again!! Fair prices, great staff that speak English if you don't speak Portuguese (I do). Nicely renovated vintage style hotel with AC, hot water and great pressure for showers, some rooms have bathtubs, very clean, right on Copacabana beach and close to everything (walking distance). Oh and an AMAZING buffet breakfast included!!!
