I really want to give all Olive boutique hotel 4 to 5 stars, but I just can’t. As other reviews have noted, the property is very attractive and the check in lobby is cozy and exquisite. I think the time that we stayed there made a big difference. Other reviews here have noted the indoor pool and restaurant, but both were closed during our entire four day stay. The construction in and around the building is a major distraction. We were there for a conference and had been looking forward to sitting out on the immense balcony to prep for our presentations, but the construction noise right outside our window drove us completely away from the hotel itself. They have limited room service, and we ordered breakfast in the room three of the four days to take advantage of the balcony. Two of the three days, our room service arrived in takeout boxes with plastic silverware. One day, it arrived on porcelain covered plates with real silverware, the way that you would expect from this price point. I guess it was anyone’s guess how our breakfast would be delivered. Other reviews have noted that the service is divided between the two hotels, and it does present difficulties.||As for the room, it is beautifully appointed, but has other reviews have also noted the shower in the middle of the room leaks everywhere. The selling point of the entire property, is, of course the outdoor showers, which are spectacular. As there was no restaurant or other common area available to us, and the pool area at the sister property is a glorified club, we tried to spend as much time in the outdoor shower as possible. The pool staff at the other location 55, were rude and completely non-welcoming to our being guests at the boutique. Rather than utilizing the sister property, we just walked up the street to the Vanderbilt hotel, and we had several meals there, as well as a place to sit and work before our flight, since there are no common areas at Olive boutique, and we were not allowed any kind of late checkout there either. ||From the website, it looks like a romantic oasis, but in reality we had to find ways to get away from the noise and the cramped, leaky quarters, which was super disappointing.
