Oliveto was good, I gave it 5 stars because I don’t want to bring down a good independent business’ rating, but I don’t believe we will be rushing back. Service was good—expedient but knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are mostly pretty fair. I guess the overarching sentiment is that the most flavorful item we had was the “carpaccio” and I put that in quotes because it is actually cured meat, I am guessing bresaola. It had shavings of a good quality parmigiano reggiano, delicious olive oil and cherry tomato halves. The eggplant parm was fine but needed more spark and was overpriced for what it was. Carbonara was ok, the bacon had the flavor of bacon that has been fried and then sat out for a while, a bit stale. Stuffed pasta with spinach was fine, just a bit bland. Tiramisu was okay, nothing to rave about. It’s a cozy atmosphere, but it just didn’t feel like a 100 euro meal.
