Olmsted Point is a great place to stop and enjoy the view and all the beauty that Yosemite offers. You can get an incredible view of Yosemite Valley and half dome below and the surrounding granite rocks on a clear day. Good place to rest on Tioga Road as well as it's about halfway between the park entrance and the road split down to Yosemite Valley.

This view isn't the iconic Tunnel View, nor is it the breathtaking view from Glacier Point, but it has its own charm. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this spot. It's fairly quiet compared to the other locations, but it's still a lot of fun. You can climb on the rocks here for some pictures or just to enjoy a different perspective. You get to see Half Dome from a different angle. If you have a telescope, spotting scope, or even a really good pair of binoculars, you will be able to see the line of tiny little ants climbing up Half Dome in the distance.

When to Yosemite via Hw120 from 395, beautiful drive & great stop at olmsted point, i think it will be more beautiful in the sunset. You can see half dome from there.

Absolutely a must see for anyone in Yosemite. In the top three vista points in Yosemite! Yosemite has the top 3 in California.

Incredible views of the valley. Great spot for photos. Make sure to hike down the small path that takes you to the top of a big rock.

Had a great stop here early in the morning on a beautiful day at the end of May. Drive thru early in the day before it gets crowded. The visitor center area was PACKED and there was very little available parking except farrr away. To be expected on a Saturday. The drive in and out was beautiful and worth it anyways!

This was honestly my family’s favorite spot at Yosemite. If you take the little trail to the left of the lookout, it will lead you to an area where no one else seems to go with amazing views of the valley and half dome.
